Chapter 11 : The argument for Lu Yan

- June 01, 2023

"I mean, really, how can a girl like you keep a g!golo?" the rich woman taunted, settling herself on the sofa opposite Shi Han. She toyed with the gold chain around her neck and directed a malicious gaze at Lu Yan. "What's wrong with you following me? I cover all your college expenses, and I can even send you abroad."

"No need," Lu Yan replied, his eyes subtly observing Shi Han's reaction.

"Lu Yan, if you don't want to toast, then don't expect fine wine." Impatience tinged the rich woman's tone. "Believe me, with just one word, I can make you lose your job here. Without a job, how will you afford your grandmother's medical fees?"

Lu Yan bowed his head and signed his name on the contract without uttering a word.

"Is that so? You truly have the audacity to irritate me," the rich woman threatened, pulling out her phone. "I'll call the boss here right now, and you won't receive the commission for this contract. If you're not convinced, you can take me to court. But then you'll have nothing."

She dialed a number but was interrupted as someone firmly grasped her hand.

Shi Han forcefully pried open the rich woman's grip on the phone and promptly canceled the call, her expression void of warmth. "Stop behaving this way!"

"What does this have to do with you?" The rich woman's heart skipped a beat, and she mustered an attempt to remain calm. "It's not your place to intervene in the matter between the two of us."

"..."

"Little girl, you haven't experienced the world yet. Since you're not interested in him, snatching him away from me will only make him look worse."

Shi Han's anger flared. "How do you know I'm not interested in him?"

Her words hung in the air, instantly silencing the room.

Lu Yan's lips curled up slightly, his eyes reflecting a gentle expression.

Shi Han felt a bit embarrassed. She didn't know what had come over her, but she couldn't stand seeing Lu Yan being bullied.

This was the first time she acted so recklessly.

Shi Han forcefully shook off the rich woman's hand and reprimanded her sternly. "Since you're so wealthy, why force someone who doesn't want to be with you? Find someone who is willing instead."

"But I've fallen in love with him, little girl! Am I treating him unfairly? I can offer him five hundred thousand yuan per month, and if he stays with me for two years, he can even buy a house in the capital."

"Just five hundred thousand yuan per month?" Shi Han retrieved another card from her bag, glanced at the rich woman's face, and smirked. "I can offer him one million per month."

"I can't be bothered to argue with you now." The rich woman placed her business card on the table. "Lu Yan, I can see that this girl is just bluffing. Call me when you're ready."

Shi Han: "..."

The rich woman promptly left.

Lu Yan said, "Miss Shi, please wait for the property certificate."

Shi Han glanced at the card she handed him, but she genuinely had no intentions of keeping Lu Yan.

After much contemplation, Shi Han finally told Lu Yan, "There is more than one million in this card, and the password is my birthday, which you can find on the house purchase contract."

As someone who had only met Lu Yan twice, Shi Han felt that she was already being quite kind.

Lu Yan lifted his gaze, his pupils shining like glass beads in the sunlight. Despite the humiliation he faced, he always maintained the noble demeanor of a cold-faced young master.

Shi Han swallowed hard. She had never experienced such a feeling before, where she found herself liking a man more and more just by looking at him. Upon closer reflection, having such a "little wolf dog" by her side might actually be nice, and she did have money...

Wait, how did she change her principles so quickly? How could she consider keeping a g!golo?

Shi Han averted her gaze abruptly from his captivating face, wondering if their relationship should start differently, with the two of them becoming friends first.
