“….”

After hearing what the NPC had just said, Myeonghu was left speechless. He had never imagined that he wouldn’t be able to chose his Class promotion.

‘I guess it’s just one more reason to visit the city.’

He was thinking of the path he had to take through the Aqua Wolf Forest, when the NPC spokeup.

“Just one moment please.”

As he bent down under the counter.

“…?”

Myeonghu felt something was off since he thought his business here was over and couldn’t understand what the NPC was doing.

However he soon stood back up, holding a scroll in his hand as he looked towards Myeonghu

‘What is it?’

He was now curious. Clearly it was related to him since he had to him to wait up and fetched this scroll, but he had no idea what it was for.

“Here you go.”

The clerk handed over the scroll.

“Just what could it….”

[You have obtained: Demes Teleportation Scroll]

He was about to ask the NPC what it was, but as soon as he saw the message, his words got stuck in his mouth.

‘Surely…?’

He planned on examining the scroll’s information, but the NPC beat him to it.

“It’s a teleportation scroll, you can use it to go to the city of Demes. They have a Warrior’s guild where you’ll be able to obtain your Class promotion. Best of luck!”

<Teleportation Scroll: Demes [Magic]>

Restrictions: None

When used, it  will immediately transport you to Demes’ Central square.

After confirming the information, he immediately put it away in his inventory and smiled to the clerk. He had never imagine that his biggest dilemma could be solved in such a manner.

‘A teleportation scroll!’

He no longer had to worry about that special meat. He could now directly appear in the city thanks to this scroll he had just obtained.

“Good bye”

Said Myeonghu as he stepped out of the guild.

‘I’ll have to go to the auction house right after getting my Class promotion.

He was already making plans for his visit to the city. Once he was clear of the building he took out the new scroll.

“Let’s do this!”

As he shouted out enthusiastically, he unfurled the scroll which erupted into a bright light

Suuaak!

Within seconds the light swallowed him up and he had disappeared.

Park Hyunwoong who was the chairman of Hyunwoong E&C, went by the name of Gunma in Legends. He was currently quite upset due to the seven items he had been bidding on.

“It was to be expected, but…”

Naturally he had expected the competition for Rare items to be fierce, but it had gotten to a point which the price exceed its value, and it had become a contest of pride.

“Just who are they?”

Now that he thought about it the amount of money being spent wasn’t some chump change, it meant that there were other people with similar financial situations which had joined the auction.

“Oh well, I’ll give up on the items which I don’t need and go all in on the others.”

Naturally he had hoped to snatch all seven, but since the situation had already evolved to such a point, he could only choose to priority the items he could use.

“Earthen Bracelet of Patience, Boots of Arrogance and the Helm of Arrogance.

Deciding on these three, Gunma checked the remaining time.

“Not much left now.”

It had originally been a short time frame for the auction. He looked at the highest bid in the three items he wanted. He could naturally set a new bid in order to take the lead, but it would be pointless. Anyway someone would soon follow up and outbid him.

“At the very end is when it will all be decided.”

Gunma planned to suddenly take the first spot at the very last second, not leaving anyone the time to out bid him.

“There must be others who think just like me, so figuring out the right amount is crucial.”

He wondered just what the right price was, since he didn’t want to lose to someone who would use the same strategy.

Demes’ Central Square

Suuaak!

In a flash of bright light, Myeonghu appeared in the city square.

Bla bla bla!

It was indeed a plaza packed with players. They were setting up stalls and walking around buying and selling items. It was his first time seeing so many players in the game so he stopped to watch in admiration.

“Ah, I don’t have time for this!”

He quickly snapped out of it.

“Is there some kind of map?”

Since he didn’t at all know this city, he had no clue where the Warrior guild might be. However after searching for some time for a map, he wasn’t able to find any directions so he settled on asking someone.

“Excuse me.”

He asked a player which had been wandering through the market, looking for items.

“Could you tell me where the Warrior guild is?”

“Oh, a Warrior are you?”

“Yes.”

“You see that alley over there? It’s called the Guild’s alley, you’ll find it there.”

“Thanks.”

“Don’t mention it.”

After showing his gratitude for the guidance, he set off in the direction the player had pointed.

It didn’t take long for him to find it, and he rushed inside, eager for his class promotion.

Buzzing

The building was full of players and NPCs.

‘So many.’

Perhaps it was because it was a guild located in a city, but Myeonghu couldn’t help but compare it to the desolate one in Himise.

He then proceeded towards the clerk at the front desk.

“What can I do for you?”

The clerk asked politely as she greeted him with a smile.

“I came for my class promotion.”

“Oh, a class promotion you say? Please wait one moment.”

The female clerk reached into a drawer and brought out a sheet of paper which she handed over to him.

Suak!

As soon as he made contact with the paper, a bright light shone briefly before disappearing. He then looked at the paper and realised that it contained all of his character stats.

“With this you can go and see Pastor!”

She said, as she pointed to her left. Following her finger he saw a middle aged NPC, seemingly in his 40’s who was smiling at something.

Myeonghu quickly approached to meet Pastor.

“Good morning”

“Hello, why have you come?”

“I’ve come to complete my class promotion, and I’ve been directed here, to meet a man named Pastor.”

Myeonghu handed over the paper with his stats to the NPC.

After quickly scanning over the page, he looked up at Myeonghu with a smile.

“Would you like me to explain the different classes?”

“Yes please.”

Since he didn’t know anything as to what classes were offered, he was eager to hear more.

Pastor gladly complied as he described the options.

“There are four promotion options for a Warrior. The first is the Knight’s Trainee, the second is the Standard Warrior, the third is the Berserker and the last is the Guardian. Would you like a more detailed description?”

“Yes please, what does a Knight’s Trainee entail?”

A Knight Trainee is to join the Knight’s academy and in time graduate into Knighthood. It has both Strong Attack and Defense, with its weakness being lower Agility. However this can be somewhat offset by their horse. It goes without saying that it is a class which focuses largely on reputation.

“Then what are the class restrictions for a Knight Trainee?”

“Level 130, 700 Strength, 700 Stamina, 400 Intelligence, and at least 5,000 reputation points.”

“Okay, please describe to me the Standard Warrior.”

Immediately upon hearing those restrictions he gave entirely on the class. His Stamina and Intelligence were abysmal, not to mention that his reputation was insufficient.

“The Standard Warrior is one of balance. Be it with regards to Attack, Defense or Speed, it doesn’t excel in any of them, but neither can it be said to be lacking. Its main advantage is that it has access to many skill trees, but the flipside is that it focuses on the breadth and not the depth of the skill trees.

“And the restrictions?”

“Level 100, 400 Strength, 350 Stamina, 300 Agility and at least 200 Wisdom.”

After hearing the requirements he opened up his Stats page to have a look.

‘I might not be able to get a class promotion.’

He had expected this day to come, so he needed to think carefully.

‘I would have to do this eventually, might as well be today.’

Still, siince there were still two more option, he eventually continued his queries.

“What about the Berserker class?”

“It is a class which specializes in Attack without any regard for other things. It’s main advantage is strong skills and attack power, but naturally its weakness is a very low Defense. This many be somewhat offset with a good set of armor, but you shouldn’t expect much since it can only use cloth and leather armors.

“And the restrictions?”

“Level 110 and a Strength of at least 800.”

“Oh!”

Hearing those conditions he couldn’t help but smile. He had been worried by the difficult restrictions, but had finally found one which suited him perfectly.

“Berserker…”

Although he felt a natural affinity to the Berserker class, he still wanted to at least learn about the Guardian class.

“Could you tell me about the Guardians?”

“Guardians are a type of warrior which focus entirely on defense. Their advantage is naturally a high defense and a large amount of defensive skills. The disadvantage is that the leveling speed is very slow if hunting alone.

“The restrictions?”

“Level 110, 400 Strength and at least 800 Defense.”

Hearing those conditions he instantly gave up on the class.

“So what kind of class would you like to choose?”

Pastor asked upon finishing his meticulous explanation of the 4 types of Warriors. On Myeonghu’s end, the decision was naturally fixed.

“I’ll choose the Berserker.”

“Alright!”

He fished out a seal from his pocket and stamped it on Myeonghu’s paper before returning it to him.

Suaaa

As soon as he made contact with the paper, the system message as well as Pastor’s kind words arrived simultaneously.

“Congratulations on becoming a Berserker.”
