Chapter 92 Peter’s Spring

Although the name Sorcerer Dr. Octavius sounded sensational, Sorcerer Erwin wasn’t any worse either.

Leo’s daring idea was if he had some free time, why doesn’t he make a trip to Nepal or the Himalayas and try to learn some spells?!

Naturally, it was possible to learn spells in New York’s Sanctum Sanctorum but Leo was uncertain where it was located…

Moreover, Leo was unsure whether or not he was destined with the sorcerers. And also unsure whether or not he had the talent to be a sorcerer. And even more unsure whether or not his Mechanic System would help him to swiftly learn spells.

However, it was worth a try to be a sorcerer.

Not only were the sorcerers’ spells in the Marvel Universe awesome and cool but also the Ancient One had the Time Stone which Leo was coveting.

If his talent was as great as Stephen Strange’s, maybe Ancient One would pass the Eye of Agamotto to him instead!

That way, he could effortlessly obtain his first Infinity Stone!

Thinking about collecting the Infinity Stones, Leo was exhilarated. In fact, he already had the intention to collect all of the Infinity Stone ever since he first arrived in this world.

Once all six Infinity Stones of the Marvel Universe were gathered, one would possess infinite power. Leo believed he could return to his original world by collecting all six stones.

However, all of these were plans for a later time. Right now, Leo was time pressured and he had no plan of barging into the sorcerers’ lair.

Thus, Leo decided to let Otto go to Nepal to try his luck while gathering some information. If Otto managed to gain the status of a sorcerer or an even greater position, then with Otto’s gratitude to Leo, surely Otto wouldn’t reject guiding Leo to be a sorcerer.

But all of these were Leo’s ideal scenarios. The real deal still required luck and it was absolutely difficult to pull off. Just like right, Otto had an unconvinced expression after listening to Leo’s suggestion. “Mr. Erwin, thank you for your generous guidance and suggestion. I definitely will go and try my luck in Nepal later.”

Leo clearly knew it was a superficial statement by Otto. Otto believed in himself more rather than unreliable luck and legend.

Therefore, whether or not Otto would go to Nepal, only the heavens knew the answer.

Nevertheless, Leo didn’t force it. If Otto could become a sorcerer, it was a plus but Leo’s focus still remained on the class Mechanic.

After solving Otto’s issue, the outsider Bucky felt it was finally time to leave Otto’s laboratory. He was bored to death and was constantly hinting at Leo to leave.

Although Leo failed to recruit Otto and was disappointed by it, with Otto’s current physical condition, it didn’t matter much whether or not Otto joined the company. Besides, Peter had agreed to be part of El Tech Company, so Leo had achieved his initial objective.

Leo believed his relationship with Peter was close enough. If he could find a suitable opportunity, he could easily receive the web-shooters from Peter.

Recalling his trip to Otto’s laboratory, Leo realized he had a bountiful harvest despite not paying a heavy price. A couple of million dollars was a pocket change for him. Instead, Leo believed he could earn more back from the upcoming mechanical prosthesis project.

So, in Leo’s view, this trip to the laboratory was a fruitful journey. It was getting late and Leo had to return to his company for preparation.

“Dr. Octavius, it’s settled then. We’ll meet again tomorrow afternoon at El Tech Company. Besides, I wish you good luck and hope you can find a cure soon. May God bless you!” Leo said before pondering and said to Peter, “Peter, why don’t you go back with Bucky and me? You’re going to be part of the higher-ups of the company. It’s better for you to join the feast tonight and socialize with your colleagues.”

This time, Peter had no excuses to turn down Leo’s invitation. Before leaving, he said to Otto, “Dr. Octavius, I’ll be leaving. Thank you very much for your care and guidance these past few years. And you must take care of your body, I’ll come back to visit you often in the future.”

Otto laughed heartily, “Peter, I’m not yet to the point I can’t walk. Don’t worry too much, focusing on your career is much more important. Besides, my disease is unique, the doctor said my body can still hold on for another two or three years. So, there’s no problem.”

Although two or three years wasn’t short, it wasn’t long either.

Otto might sound casual but what his real thoughts were was debatable.

Eight in the night, in front of the entrance of a high-class restaurant, the group from El Tech Company had finished their meal and were bidding each other farewell.

The price for this feast was expensive and the lowest status of the attendee was at least a deputy. So, the number of attendees could be counted with just one hand.

Chairman, Leo; Chief of Security, Bucky; Chief of Logistics-cum-Finance and the longest follower of Leo, Ol’ Tom; Chief of Legal-cum-HR, Foggy Nelson; Special Legal Consultant, Matt Murdock; Deputy of Technical, Gawain Woody; the newly promoted Chief of Sales, Heather Doyle; the newly joined, Peter Parker.

These individuals would be the pillar of support for the current El Tech Company.

However, the current company team was still slightly lacking and Leo needed to attract more talent to join.

Today was a celebration and Leo casually chose a high-class restaurant. The aroma of dishes and wine was naturally indispensable.

A single meal cost around three thousand dollars. This caused the miser Ol’ Tom to constantly whine.

It had been a long time for Ol’ Tom to taste the alcohol. Today he was the one who drank the most yet the one with the least tolerance. Bucky had chucked him into the car. Seeing Ol’ Tom’s drunkenness and full of alcoholic smell, Bucky was afraid Ol’ Tom would puke in the car, so he dumped Ol’ Tom into the trunk.

Gawain lived in a further place, so he excused himself earlier to catch up the bus.

Matt and Heather were now an officially recognized couple, the duo sweetly strolled away.

Foggy saw he was abandoned by his best friend and could only twitch his mouth and shrug before hailing a cab, preparing to leave with Leo and the others.

In front of the restaurant entrance, Leo and Peter were the only ones left.

“Peter, welcome to El Tech Company. You can start coming to work tomorrow.” Leo said to Peter.

Peter gladly agreed.

All of a sudden, a car stopped right next to the two of them. A youthful girl came out of the car. It was Mary Jane who came to pick up Peter.

It was summer now and the weather in New York was getting gradually hotter.

Mary Jane, with a piece of a white dress and high heels, dressed beautifully and playfully stood before Peter and greeted Leo warmly.

Seeing the fairy-like Mary Jane, a smile bloomed on Peter’s face like a daisy.

Leo felt he couldn’t be the third wheeler here since not only would it obstruct Peter’s view but it would also make Leo suffer. Leo had just filled his stomach, anymore he would spew all of it out!

Thus, he hurriedly bid farewell, “Peter, I’ll be leaving first. I’ll see you tomorrow.” After a couple of steps, without turning around, Leo cheekily commented, “Peter, you’ve drunk quite a lot just now, make sure to take care of your body tonight.” Fearing Peter would hit him, Leo immediately left the scene.

The young Peter and Mary Jane were as red as a beetroot. Fortunately, no one saw it and the two even found each other’s red faces even cuter.

“MJ, where are we going right now?”

“Of course to my place, why would we go to that pigsty of yours?!”

Although it was summer, Peter felt the sweet fragrance of spring tickling his nose!
