Chapter 257 Vibranium Head

TL: Kyous

Taking a few sips of his coffee, Peter began to explain the reason why he had been looking for Leo. “Dr. Octavius disappeared through the portal two years ago. I miss him and I want to see him.”

“Certainly,” Leo had previously promised Peter that he would take him to Nepal to find Dr. Octavius, so he had no reason to refuse.

But he had been extremely busy lately and didn’t have the time. So he had to postpone the date. “How about in a month? I’m a bit occupied now.”

According to his estimation, half a month would be enough time for him to fix the spaceship and check the situation in orbit. Besides, he also set aside three days for himself to try his luck and find the Tesseract.

If he failed to locate the Tesseract within three days, it would mean he was unlucky. Then, it would be better for him to just wait for Captain Marvel’s arrival.

With approximately half a month remaining, he could make some preparations for the trip to Nepal. He still had one debuff lingering on him, the curse from Sinthea. This trip to Nepal would be a good opportunity to seek help from the group of sorcerers and see if they could find a solution.

While the curse hadn’t caused any discomfort to him in the past year and a half, it would be best to have it removed if the sorcerers had a way to do so.

However, when he mentioned going in a month, Peter revealed a troubled expression.

“What’s wrong?” Leo was puzzled.

Peter stammered for a moment as he couldn’t find the right words.

“Just say it directly, we’re all grown-ups here. There’s no need to beat around the bush,” Leo feigned anger and narrowed his eyes.

Peter had no choice but to spit it out, “In a month, we’re scheduled to launch the next generation of chips, and I’m worried that the product launch won’t go well if I’m absent.”

Leo didn’t know whether to be speechless or relieved at the moment. He never imagined Peter would prioritize the interests of El Chips Technologies to such a degree.

What an incredibly responsible and wholehearted employee!

So he could only offer words of comfort, “Although you’re the head of El Chips Technologies, it doesn’t mean you have to handle everything personally. You can delegate many tasks to your subordinates and give them more trust. You don’t have to burden yourself too much.”

“I know I can do that, but… I’m just worried they won’t do well,” Peter couldn’t convince himself.

‘Tsk! Tsk!’ Leo suddenly felt a bit sentimental. A boss personally persuades his subordinate to slack off. He probably was the first one. What was more important was that the subordinate didn’t seem to appreciate it.

He never intended for Peter to dedicate his whole life to El Chips Technologies. So he spoke solemnly, “Peter, stop fussing. Meeting Dr. Octavius is more important. So…”

Swiftly calculating the dates in his mind, he continued, “29th of next month, which is Saturday. It’s a good day for traveling. We’ll set off to Nepal then. Let Ol’ Tom help you to book a flight and consider it a business trip reimbursed by the company.”

Peter instantly objected, “No, I’ll pay for the ticket myself. It’s on me.”

“Alright then, it’s settled. We’ll meet in Nepal on the 29th of next month,” Leo said decisively.

Leo suddenly stood up, “I still have some matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave.”

Knowing what kind of person Peter was, Leo was well aware that Peter would never accept taking advantage of the company. Thus, when he mentioned having Ol’ Tom use the company money to purchase the ticket for Peter, he knew Peter would refuse. This way, he could set the travel date without Peter’s indecision and wavering.

After all, he was a busy man, right?

Who had the time to persuade a stubborn mule like Peter?

As Leo got up, Peter knew that this matter was settled and could only nod in agreement. But before Leo could walk away, Peter called him back and said, “Mr. Erwin, MJ also wants to come along. Is that okay?”

With a smile, Leo replied, “Sure, it’s okay. We’re going to visit a friend, not to fight. It’ll be even better to bring family members along. Also, I’ve heard that the scenery in Nepal is quite stunning. You can stay a few more days and enjoy yourselves. Consider it as a honeymoon after your marriage.”

‘And who knows, maybe Dr. Octavius has mastered making portals and he can take you to see the view of Mt. Everest too!’ Leo thought about it but didn’t voice it out loud.

Seeing Leo’s agreement, Peter was ecstatic and beamed with a radiant smile.

Then, he turned and walked out of the Starbucks cafe, with Peter quickly following to see him off. The two of them walked out of the cafe and arrived at the lobby of El Chips Technologies.

Peter wanted to accompany Leo to the entrance, but Leo insisted otherwise. Peter had no choice but to head upstairs to work, while Leo was left alone at the building’s entrance.

Meanwhile, the blonde receptionist gazed fixedly at Leo’s handsome figure, indulging in her infatuation.

Once outside El Chips Technologies, Leo didn’t have any urgent matters to attend to, so he returned to Erwin Research Center to start creating the satellite add-ons. Erwin Research Center housed a wide variety of materials and with the precious instruments he brought back from Wakanda, he had enough materials to manufacture the satellite add-ons without the need for additional procurement.

With two full days and one night of work, a total of nine satellite add-ons were completed.

Among them, four were designed for communication satellites, while the remaining five were for positioning satellites, all of which were American-made.

Apart from the satellite add-ons Leo planned to “launch” into space, the issue of communication and positioning for the spaceship was resolved too.

However, instead of immediately retrofitting the spaceship, Leo called for Steam, preparing to give it a comprehensive upgrade.

Following the previously devised plan, he spent a day and night loading advanced technologies such as remote communication and holographic simulation onto Steam. Furthermore, with an ample supply of Vibranium, he indulged in luxury and replaced Steam’s head casing with Vibranium.

The round, gleaming head now emitted a bluish-purple glow, not only looking impressive but also extremely durable.

And of course, it felt great to touch.

With the upgrade complete, Steam sported a glowing head and buzzed around Leo incessantly, buzzing happily like a child and thoroughly enjoying itself.

“Steam, stop for a bit. Also, turn off the light on your head and come help me to upgrade the suit,” Leo instructed.

“Buzz! Affirmative, master.” Steam obediently replied.

Steam dutifully turned off the glow on its head, and its round, gleaming head returned to its black color. However, its eye lit up brightly. Two beams of light emitted from its eyes, and a massive holographic display appeared before Leo.

On the display was the 3D model of the Viper Mark VIII, slowly rotating.

Waving his hands, he manipulated the 3D model and its rotation speed abruptly increased.

“New project, Viper Mark IX. Import Viper Mark VIII’s model. Objectives, remove the Intracranial Transmission Technology module and add a space life support system,” Leo commanded.

He intended to install the satellite add-ons onto specific satellites, which would require him to access the satellite’s surface. And the obvious choice of tool for this task was the versatile and adaptable Viper armor.

Therefore, equipping Viper Mark IX with space combat capabilities became the first order of business.

“Buzz! Project created. Simulating model… Simulation completed. Please import the space life support system module and further fine-tune it.”
