Chapter 233 Sleepless Bucky

In the bedroom of Capsule House, Bucky was sound asleep. 

After Leo’s departure last night, he cleaned up the dishes and trash and returned to his room to get some rest.

But even he lay in bed for a good twenty minutes, trying every trick he had learned during his military day to fall asleep, but to no avail. 

It wasn’t that Bucky was unaccustomed to sleeping in the Capsule House, but rather that he was tempted by the possibility of the miraculous elixir that could enhance his mental and perceptual abilities.

Originally, he hadn’t considered his slightly weaker mental strength as a significant drawback. After all, his body had been fully enhanced by the Super Soldier Serum, making his mental strength far stronger than those of ordinary people.

But because Leo often told him, saying things like “Your mental strength isn’t strong enough, you can’t use Intracranial Transmission Technology…”, he had become somewhat annoyed by it.

Besides, Leo had given him an amazing suit that could freely change his body size, so he couldn’t help wondering if Leo would upgrade his Winter suit to Winter armor once his mental strength was strong enough to use the Intracranial Transmission Technology.

Who hasn’t dreamt about flying through the sky when they were a child? If someone said they hadn’t, then they probably don’t have a childhood at all!

Bucky certainly had that dream, so he was eager to try it out. Unable to sleep, he got up and washed his face with cold water in the bathroom before putting on his Winter suit and heading out.

He spent the entire night roaming the bustling area of Wakanda. However, since he couldn’t understand the language or read the building’s sign, he didn’t comprehend Wakandan’s conversations and couldn’t learn anything until sunrise.

After another fruitless night, he returned to Capsule House exhausted. Taking off his Winter suit, he threw it on the nightstand before collapsing onto the bed, sound asleep until now.

“Bucky, Bucky. This is Leo, do you copy?”

Suddenly, Bucky, who was sleeping, heard the faint sound of Leo’s voice.

“Bucky, Bucky. This is Leo, do you copy?”

The same phrase repeated, and Bucky immediately woke up as his eyes landed on the Winter suit’s helmet resting on the nightstand.

Grabbing the helmet, he pressed the communication button, “This is Bucky, what’s wrong, Leo?”

“Get up and prepare breakfast,” Leo said cheerfully.

Stunned momentarily, Bucky then reluctantly got out of bed, washed up, and went to prepare breakfast.

It was a hearty breakfast, with two glasses of milk, two packets of bread rolls, and a package of butter to spread on the bread, all prepared in the fridge.

As Bucky placed everything on the table, Leo pushed open the door, entering.

“Wow, it smells good!” Leo exclaimed.

Bucky replied grumpily, “What’s good about it? It’s all packaged food. How can you even smell anything?”

“I wasn’t talking about the food, but the scent of the tree trunk. The whole house is filled with its aroma. Can’t you smell it?” God knows what kind of tree had been dug a huge hole in by Leo, but the scent was certainly enjoyable.

“I’ve been inside for too long, my nose has gotten used to it and I can’t smell it anymore,” explained Bucky in a low voice.

With a smirk, Leo casually took off his Viper Mark VIII and started enjoying the breakfast.

“Bucky, I’ve solved the problem of losing signal on the communicator. You can now contact me through it from anywhere in Wakanda.” Leo said as he ate.

Bucky was clueless about how high the technical standard required to solve the signal-blocking problem in the mine in such a short time. So he just replied with a nonchalant “Oh.”

Leo didn’t mind at all since he knew exactly what kind of personality Bucky had. To impress Bucky, one just had to be rough and straightforward enough, then he would be amazed! Otherwise, other attempts would fail miserably.

Spreading the butter on his bread, Bucky took a big bite and washed it down with a gulp of milk, savoring the sweetness that flooded his taste buds.

All of a sudden, he remembered something and quickly finished off the bread, then asked, “Leo, I went to Wakanda’s street last night, but I don’t recognize their writing or understand their language. Do you have any solutions to this?”

“That’s indeed an important issue, let me think…” Leo took a sip of milk and fell into deep thought.

Africa had gone through the colonial era and most of its countries began to widely use languages such as English, Portuguese, and Arabic. However, Wakanda had never been colonized and had always used its developed language system that had been simplified over thousand of years.

Moreover, Wakanda had always been very mysterious, with only a few words or pictograms discovered and studied by archaeologists. So Leo couldn’t search for Wakanda’s language library in the outside world, thus he naturally was unable to prepare a real-time translator in advance.

As his mind drifted, Leo suddenly had an inspiration. Although the people of Wakanda avoided the outside world, they weren’t completely cut off from it. For example, people like N’Jobu and T’Chaka, and even most of the people in Wakanda, spoke English very well, as shown in the previous Marvel storyline.

Therefore, there must be a subject in Wakanda’s schools that specifically teaches foreign languages. And according to Wakanda’s current technological level, they must have established a systematic language library and even developed a powerful real-time multi-language translator.

According to Leo’s learning principle of “supplementing”, after he solved the problem of the communicator’s lack of signal, there was indeed a place for “solving language barriers” in his remaining to-do list.

With this thought, Leo suddenly became confident, “Bucky, don’t worry about the language barrier anymore. I’ll try to solve it as soon as possible. I have a vague solution to it.”

Bucky nodded and continued to enjoy his breakfast.

Soon, breakfast was over, and the two set out separately to do their things. Bucky continued to eagerly search for magical potions that could enhance his mental strength, while Leo flew towards the border of Wakanda after leaving the Capsule House.

Today was still a sunny day, and the Wakandans were still living their warm and comfortable ordinary lives within the shield.

As Leo soared through the air, he marveled at the beauty of Wakanda and watched as its people went about their busy lives. Before long, he arrived at a towering structure near the shield’s edge and landed on it with ease.

The tower was twenty meters high and made up of a stone foundation and steel body, with a blue-purple light shimmering from its top, making it highly eye-attracting even in broad daylight. This was the Vibranium’s color, and the tower was none other than Wakanda’s shield generator.

Since his arrival in Wakanda the day before, Leo had been covering the shield generator and today he was determined to learn its technology.

Learning this technology of the shield generator had many benefits. Not only could he use it to enhance his equipment’s defense and stealth capabilities, but he and Bucky would also at least get their hands on Wakanda’s heart-shaped herb. And when the Wakandans discovered that their herbs had been stolen, they took it just as seriously as if their entire Vibranium stockpile had been wiped out.

That was why Leo needed to learn shield technology and master the art of breaking through protective shields.

Having this knowledge meant Leo and Bucky could attack and defend with confidence making their strategy foolproof.

The shield generator was also guarded by Wakandan warriors, and there was even a canon-like weapon on the tower top, which was highly intimidating. But they were all mere mortals and couldn’t detect Leo’s presence easily.

So he carefully scanned the area around the shield generator and found the stone foundation and steel tower body weren’t technically complex and only served a fixing purpose.

The real critical component was the Vibranium core, a cylindrical object about three meters high and one meter in diameter, located at the top of the tower.

Flying straight to the top of the Vibranium core, he activated his Mechanical Force Analysis and Mechanical Force – Insight.
