The Legend Of Dragon Land

Chapter 31 - Legendary Skill

Class A's situation.

Cheryl belonged to the flag-finding team, but similar to Drake, her team was the one who found the flagpole, not the flag.

Currently Cheryl's position with the four team members was in the east of the forest. Looking at the position displayed on the electronic map, Cheryl could predict the position that the flag was located. Obviously the flag would be in the west of the area, which was furthest away from the flagpole!

Cheryl was sitting on a rock, patiently waiting for something... About more than ten minutes later, the west side of the forest appeared a signal.

The audience outside who were attentively following the competition via the two screens thought that, probably the flag team of Class A was facing with a similar situation to flag team of Class K: They had encountered the "flag guard" and now giving a signal for help. Therefore, just like Drake, what Cheryl could do now was crossing the forest to support her teammates!

However, beyond everyone's expectations, from what was being shown on the monitor screen showed that Cheryl had no expression of rushing. She was sitting on on the rock, calmly closing her beautiful orange-red eyes, as if she was resting. At the same time, the other four members standing behind her didn't show any signs of urgency as well.

At the area for guests and teachers, Brian unconsciously furrowed his eyebrows.

If someone asked him that he cheered for whom in this competition, he might not be able to answer at all.

In this guests and teachers' area, Brian had several positions.

His full name was Brian Maximus.

He was the son of the Army Commander in Chief – Raymond Maximus.

He was one of most talented ones in his generation, currently holding the same position as Eugene: a lieutenant general of the Army.

He was the homeroom teacher of Class F, also he had accepted the Class Leader of Class F – Drake Atticus – as his disciple.

And yet, he had one more position which was... He was the older brother of Class Leader of Class A – Cheryl Maximus.

Having accepted Drake as his disciple, of course he would devotedly teach and train Drake. But the thing was, he devotedly taught and trained Drake was one thing, how far Drake can go would be another thing. He was not the kind of teacher who would give such order as "winning at all cost" to his disciple.

And on the other side, as an older brother of Cheryl, he also supported for his little sister as well. However... in the situation that time was counted as one the three criteria for scoring, how could his sister be calm like that?

Brian's eyebrows increasingly tightened. Cheryl, what were you thinking?

About one minute later, until the audience was about to be impatient, Cheryl finally opened her eyes. The girl calmly stood up, looking at the remaining four member. The corners of her lips slightly raised: "Start it!"

It seemed like the other four members was just waiting for this saying, they immediately moved, one standing at a corner, connected into a square. And Cheryl herself entered the center.

Outside the screen, the bored audience was quickly attracted by the move of Cheryl and the four students.

Cheryl closed her eyes, her hands clapped together, then turned a round, her left hand was below, her right hand was on. Immediately at the foot of the other four members appeared a few lines sparkling yellow light, connected into a square formation on the ground. At the same time below Cheryl's feet also appeared a rhombus shape.

Brian's eyes were widened. That, that was...

At the same time, in the stands for guests and teachers, there was another person attentively watching Cheryl's movements on the screens like Brian. That was a middle-aged man with short orange hair in a "number Four buzz haircut", looking both full of mettle and strength. In front of his c.h.e.s.t, there was a row of medals representing the ill.u.s.trious achievements in the past, on his shoulders there was a row of five stars representing the supreme status of the Army, currently sparkling under sunshine.

Correct! This person was the Big Boss of the Army – Commander-in-Chief Raymond Maximus, concurrently the father of Lieutenant General c.u.m Class F's teacher Brian Maximus and Class A's Class Leader Cheryl Maximus.

Behind the screen, every gust of wind moved around the five-person formation.

Cheryl still closed her eyes, in a moment her beautiful lips opened, letting a light voice out: "Teleport!"

Three seconds later, the girl's image disappeared. Only the four members were standing forming the square outside, the yellow-light lines under their feet also disappeared.

All the spectators at Aurora Bijlmer Arena watching via the two huge screen and the viewers watching via TV home rolled their eyes.

Dis- Disappeared?

Really Disappeared??

Bloody hell! What the hell was "disappeared"? Wasn't there any problem on the camera system???

The sound of arguing and commenting sounded from the stands of the students. Suddenly the commentator of the competition shouted: "Switch to the camera where the flagpole-finding team of Class A was standing! Quickly!"

The screens immediately switched.

The girl who had just disappeared from the camera now appeared among the other four members of Class A – who were also standing in a square formation. At their feet, the patterns of the yellow-light lines connecting into a square flashed and disappeared.

The expression of all students watching the competition was: "..."

What the hell just happened?

How the hell a person could disappear and then appear in another faraway place after only one or two seconds?

Hey!!!!!!!! Were they watching the "live" version or the "cut" version???????

Students strained their eyes to look at screens. And what they saw was a flashing red dot with the words "Live" in the upper left corner of the screens, clearly showing that this was currently live recording without any intervention of any correction or photoshop techniques.

The students looked at each other, but they only saw the confusion in the eyes of their classmates sitting next to them. Not only the students, but also some of the young teachers and teaching assistant did not understand what had happened.

At this moment, the trembling voice mixed with the excitement of the commentator sounded, giving the answer to everyone:

"That, that is "Teleport", ladies and gentlemen! No doubtedly, it was exactly the teleportation skill!"

"Amazing! Excellent!! So... after so many years, finally we can witness this legendary skill! And it was from a first-year student! Unbelievable!!!!!!"

As mentioned before, the common fighting skills of Pacific were divided into three levels: Low-level (Basic), Mid-level (Intermediate), and High-level (Advanced). The low-level and mid-level ones had a high level of popularity and could be performed by many races owning the same energy style. Meanwhile, for the high-level skills, each skill could be performed successfully by only two to four races, which meant their popularity was lower and the difficulty was higher.

In addition, there were also special skills whose difficulty level was even higher than high-level skills, and only one or two races could perform successfully. These skills were classified as "Specialized Skills", with the ranking higher than High-level skills.

In fact, the mid-level skill "Red Lightning" that Edelina of Class K had just performed a few minutes ago could be considered to have met half of the conditions to be classified as "Specialized Skills", that was: Only the Garnet race could perform that skill! There were no such skills like "Silver Lightning", "Gold Lightning" or "Blue Lightning" from the races Silver, Gold or Sapphire. Only the Garnet race had the ability to transform the color of lightning into "Red Lightning"!

Unfortunately, the power of "Red Lightning" was not strong enough. Moreover, most of the Garnet dragonmen born with good intellectual ability would be able to perform this skill, proving that its difficulty level was not so high. Thus, although "Red Lightning" was quite a "specialized" skill of the Garnet race, in the end it was just a mid-level skill.

And it didn't end there. In the "Specialized Skills" system, Pacific even selected some skills or groups of similar skills that were especially difficult that only a few individuals had the ability to deploy. In other words, it was the matter that not only related to the racial characteristics, but also covered the difficulty and the innate gift. These skills were classified as "Legendary Skills".

"Teleport" was a skill belonging to the group of skills called "Formation" of the Lantern race, classified as one of the "Legendary Skills". "Teleport" was performed by one Lantern and eight auxiliary members of Fire style, and each teleport point included four members to make a formation.

The Dragon races' history recorded a total of twenty-four legendary skills, of which the Fire style possessed nine skills, the Water style possessed eight skills and the Lightning style possessed seven.

Only now did people understand why Cheryl brought along a team of all members from Fire style to this round. Obviously she had planned to use the teleport skill to move between the two positions!!!

Right now, the five members belonging to the flagpole team of Class A and Cheryl were about a hundred meters from the scorpion. Perhaps after signaling for help, the flagpole team had retreated to a safe place and set up the formation, waiting for Cheryl to arrive. That was also the reason why Cheryl calmly waited until more than a minute before asking her teammates to form the teleport formation.

After briefly explaining about the definition of the skills to audience, the commentator continued: "Ladies and gentlemen! By using the "Teleport" skill, the distance between the flag and the flagpole for Class A Class Leader Cheryl Maximus is now almost a minute of forming the formation and teleport! Just some minutes ago, Class K was the one having the absolute prominence, but now the situation has changed! So, will Cheryl of Class A take her flag faster, or Angus of Class K bring his flag to the flagpole faster?"

Just like what the commentator said, now if Cheryl and her teammates could quickly kill the "flag guard" Desert Scorpion, and then use the teleport skill to return to the flagpole before Angus successfully brought his flag to flagpole of Class K, then Class A would be the winner of this round.

Hearing those words from the commentator, the stand area of Class A quickly became heated with dozens of loud cheers: "Cheryl! Cheryl! Cheryl!...". Those were the voice of the group supporting Cheryl in Class A, they all hoped that Cheryl could quickly kill the scorpion and get the flag.

However... things were not that easy!

The legendary skill "Teleport" did bring a great advantage to Class A. However, the conditions of this technique also caused them a big disadvantage.

Don't forget that now all ten members of Class A in the competition were Fire style!

A team that all combat members were Fire style, now confronting an opponent also using Fire power and owning such a solid armor like Desert Scorpio, of course, it was impossible to "go fast kill fast" this opponent in just some seconds.

Cheryl, along with five teammates, continuously performed many primary skills such as "Fire Bullets", "Fire Bombs", "Fireballs", "Multi Fireballs", "Fire Arrows", but most of them were dislodged away by the scorpion. Perhaps there were a few hit the target, but couldn't cause any significant damage for the scorpion.

More than five minutes had passed, the "flag guard" Desert Scorpion had been suffering several attacks by six people but it still appeared to be very energetic. Meanwhile, Class A's students were getting tired. They finally realized that low-level and mid-level skills of Fire style didn't have much effect.

In the stand area of Class K, Dallton, Maddox, and the others who had been in the nervous state for some minutes now turned to hopefully. After witnessing the effect of "Teleport" skill, they were really panicked. But now, when the disadvantage of a whole Fire team had appeared, all of Class K gradually regained their spirits. No one told anyone, all silently praying for Angus and Edelina not to encounter any obstacles on the way, smoothly get to Iris' position.

But Class K only had three seconds resting assured. Because on the screens, Cheryl now had another move!

Cheryl pointed at herself and another team member, giving orders: "I and he attract it! The other four make the formation!"

Formation? Another kind of formation? The crowd of viewers quickly got thrilled.

What they saw was Cheryl and one team member jumped in to the fight the scorpion, and the remaining four ran out to four corners in the distance, forming a square.

The member who was fighting with Cheryl shouted: "Class Leader, just go! I'll hold it!"

Cheryl nodded: "Be careful!" Then she threw herself backwards.

Standing a safe distance from the scorpion, Cheryl closed her eyes, her hands clasped together. The four team members who are in charge of making the battle also perform the same gesture. Five seconds later, Cheryl opened her eyes, shouting: "Force field!"

Immediately at the feet of the four members outside, the lights appeared again, connecting the four positions into a square on the ground. However, if the "Teleport" formation emitted yellow light, then this formation emitted red light.

The stream of red light appeared on the ground, and then continuously rising, until it reached the height that surpassed the Desert Scorpion's tail by more than a meter. Then it stopped. Just looked like the four walls surrounding the Desert Scorpion.

Immediately, the loud scream of the commentator sounded again: "Unbelievable! It's totally unbelievable! Yet another legendary skill again! This is another skill belonging to the legendary group of skills "Formation"! It is, "Force field"!!!"

As noted before, the list of "Legendary Skills" of the Dragon races consisted of twenty-four skills or groups of similar skills. Most of these skills were more about attacking, only a few were defensive or supportive. The skills like "Teleport" and "Force Field" belonged to the latter group. The two skills were both related to formations, therefore, they were grouped into a group of skills called "Formation". Although "Formation" composed of several small skills but in terms of number, it was counted as only one legendary skill.

Speaking of "Force Field", this was a skill performed by a Lantern and from four auxiliary members from Fire style or more, to create a space to protect themselves or surround and attack the opponent. The greater the strength of the implementer and the auxiliary members, the greater the durability of the force field. Beside that, the increased number of auxiliary members also partly increased the durability of the barrier, however, not too much.

The current "Force Field" of Class A was performed by first year students. Of course, their strength was still limited, so if they encountered strong opponents, they would not be able to hold. But now the one they were facing with was a Desert Scorpion, and this "Force Field" is more than enough!

When the force field was completed, Cheryl jumped onto one of the four peaks of the force field. The team member who had just held the scorpion jumped up, and like Cheryl, he landed on one of the other three peaks of the force field. After that, two of them continuously launched the "Great Fireball" skill towards the scorpion.

Cheryl's purpose was now clear: If using Fire power to attack you in a normal way wasn't effective, I would surround you and burn you to death!!!

So, for the next five minutes, the Desert Scorpio was burned to death by Cheryl and her teammate.

During the time the scorpion was still struggling, the bell that signaled the first team to complete the mission had rung. It was obvious that Angus had finished hanging the flag of Class K onto their flagpole!
