The Heiress

Chapter 58 - COME GET ME

The day was a busy one for the employees of the new Cheng Corp. They had to recheck everything and finalize what was planned. Tomorrow was the day they would officially launch the company.

Hui Yin had been busy as well. Aside from giving orders, she had done most of the work. So much that she had yet the time to rest properly. The month of preparations had come to an end. They would just have to wait for what was to come

.

Exhausted,She drove her car home and opened the window breathing in the fresh air.

The drive was peaceful, just how she liked it. Her hair was let down, making her long golden curls flow against her seat.

Just then, her phone rang disrupting the peaceful atmosphere.

"Greetings Mr. Cheng"

"alseep?"

"I'm on my way home, Mr. Cheng"

"come and get me"

'hmmm?'

"you...are here, Mr. Cheng?" her tone suddenly became high pitched all of a sudden, leaving her ashamed and embarrassed

"en"

Fl.u.s.tered, she ended the call and speeded towards the airport. After all, who would want to keep their boss waiting? She didn't realize that her heartbeat quickened it's pace

...

Once she arrived, she got out of the car and stood still there. He was right at the exit, holding his phone, looking at it intently.

"Mr. Cheng" when he thought he heard her voice, he looked up, indeed, it was her. His gaze warmed up a bit, like a large block of ice, thawed.

"long time no see, Anna" he mumbled to a length only he could hear. He walked towards her in an unhurried pace but his hands were waiting eagerly to touch her soft, golden hair.

Step by step his legs walked, step by step her heart quickened. When he stopped in front of her, her heart missed a beat.

"Do you have anything scheduled here, Mr. Cheng?" He looked at her unresponding, his eyes were still waters, calm and unfurling. His gaze, she couldn't quite understand. Suddenly, Cheng Ming-hùa lifted his hand and gently placed it on her head. When she thought he was going to say something, he ruffled her hair, messing it up

"... Mr. Cheng" she voiced out while gritting her teeth

"hmm?"

"en"

When she turned back to sit on the shotgun seat, Hui Yin didn't notice his lips curling up. Clearly, the man was satisfied.

"Where to?"

"your place"

"yes, Mr. Ch--huh..?" her head turned to him

My place? but why?

He merely nodded at her confirming her thoughts

ahhh..he forgot to book a hotel

"where is Ms. Lai, Mr. Cheng? If I may ask?"

"oh"

the ride was silent and peace regained its place once again.

...

They arrived at her place after an hour of driving. None of them said a word. Hui Yin was focused on driving while Ming-hùa focused on her, rather, looking at her.

"Welcome to my place, Mr. Cheng. Ah..would you like to eat dinner?" She helped him out of his coat and hung it on the cold rack. Placing slippers in front of him, he took off his shoes and wore it.

"hmm" he nodded and proceeded to the kitchen leaving her stunned for a second

How could he not know the place when he designed it himself?

Hui Yin followed after him fervently and wore her apron as she cooked dinner for them both. Looking at the scene in front of him, Cheng Ming-hùa couldn't be more pleased. She wore a black long sleeved bodycon dress that hugged the curves of her body, now paired with an apron, she looked like a mere housewife cooking for her husband. Of course, now that his grandfather was urging him for a wife, he wouldn't have to brush off the feelings he felt for her. No, he would embrace it and court her...although it would seem like a long way to go.

Well, after dinner was served and he ate lavisciously, savouring the taste of the meal she had cooked, Cheng Ming-hùa offered to do the dishes but was told not to as he should rest. This brought on a surge of warmth flowing in his heart.

"en" he nodded and walked to the bathroom, leaving Hui Yin some time for herself.

'What have I been doing?!?!?!?'
