The Heiress

Chapter 46 - Fairytale

The sun was scorching hot while wind blew gently, swaying the trees that had blocked out most of the sunlight and shaded the passing car.

It was silent inside the limo driven by Cheng Ming-hùa's chaffeur. The children slept soundly a little while ago, tired from the activities that happened in the morning.

Their destination was to a private land owned by Ming-hùa with which Hui Yin had no knowledge of. She observed the vastness of the land in silence while she thought to herself.

It had been 15 minutes since they drive to this path but there seemed to be no buildings, but instead, different plots of land were filled with different types of plants and huge trees.

While she assessed the surrounding plants, the car for the first time, turned right and there she thought she saw....a castle!

Indeed! It looked like a castle described in fairytales! She was amazed by the sight. There was a fountain in the middle of a curve they had to go through before passing by a gate.

The castle-like building had a white exterior with gold linings. There were flags in purple color that had a logo she couldn't comprehend. There was also a bell tower with a huge clock!

"Amazed?" just as she was awed by the marvel of the place, her thoughts were broken by his question

"yes, Mr. Cheng. I didn't know a place like this existed here" she answered truthfully

"en. Mother wanted something like this so I fulfilled her request. It is too bad she can't see it.." he was melancholic from the memories that ran in his mind

"Mother is so beautiful!" a 6 year old Cheng Ming-hùa looked at his mother who wore a stinning velvet red dress. "like a queen!"

"Thank you, Ming'er" she smiled. This was a time in their lives where Tang Min Yue was still able to see. They had come from a school event and just arrived home late in the night.

"go wash up, Ming'er, you neet to sleep"

"umm..will mother read me a story?" he tugged on the hem of his mother's dress and looked pitifully towards her. His eyes begged her to go and such cuteness was not something Yue could say no to.

"Of course" she smiled "let me change and I will come to your room later to read you a story"

Soon enough, Yue tucked him under the bed covers and read him a story she had picked herself. It was about a gallant knight in shining armour

Amazed by the story and inspired by the knight, little Ming sat up and placed his fist on his c.h.e.s.t

"Mother, I will be your knight! I will protect you!"

"ahh then let mother be a princess"

"no no..mother should be the queen"

"but the queen in the story is evil..am I evil Ming'er?"

"ah! no! That's right..hmm..mother should be the princess then!"

"alright, you shall build me a castle when you're older then"

"mm goodnight mother"

"good night, my knight" she kissed her son's forehead and before sleeping beside him

Little did they know, it was their last fairytale before hell
