The Commoner Consort: The Country's Respected Empress

Xavier pats the horse before him and speaks "He will be perfect for you".

Hearing his proud tone, Maya could only w.h.i.n.e in her mind 'Is he forgetting something important?! That I do not know to ride a horse!'.

Xavier chuckles seeing Maya staring the horse as if she is facing her death "You will be safe with Eros, My Lady".

Maya shakes her timidly "C-Can I…get..Charli- Charles? Please?".

Xavier states genuinely "I would love to. But Eros will be the right choice for you since it's your first time. Trust me. He is better than Charles".

Even after seeing Xavier's confident look, Maya could only pout in displease. She humps "I would go with Sarah then!".

She walks out of the barn 'How heartless he is! The horse literally resembles a wild beast! Even Charlie is black but he doesn't scare me! But that beast does!'.

HORSE NEIGHS!

Maya stops hearing horse approaching behind her and turns in panic. As soon as she turns, she is welcomed by the same wild beast so close to her face as the horse is standing just before her. Right in front of her face actually.

The horse is staring below to Maya's height. It's truly gigantic.

Maya is just staring Eros without even blinking her eyes. She might have afraid to even close her eyes or she forget to close them.

"Just pat him, My Lady"

Xavier speaks with a smirk while he was holding the reins of Eros.

Maya wouldn't dare to even breath as the horse in front of her is breath-takingly-frightening.

Xavier sighs and hops down from the horse "Honestly?! Do you fear him? He is the only caring one of Xander's horses!"

Maya blinks stuttering "C-Caring one?".

'So what the horseman raised these horses?! It is still scary you dump Prince!'.

Author (HUH?! Did she just call Xander.. a horseman?!)

Xavier grabs her shivering hand and chuckles seeing her protesting "I am not cutting your hand, My Lady. Relax. I am helping you".

Maya stares Xavier furiously and squeals when Xavier places her hand on the horse's face.

Xavier holds her shoulder protectively and speaks seriously "You have to get used to Eros. As you would be the first ever person who would be riding him other than My brother and I".

Maya gasps in shock looking at Xavier.

'I am the first ever… Is he saying that this horse is only accustomed with two people?! Just two?!'.

Xavier smiles proudly "Aren't you excited? You are the only lucky person who get to receive this privilege!".

Maya asks fuming "So this horse was never used to any other people?!".

Xavier asks smugly "Why would anyone dare to ride our horses? Would they be prisoned for committing that crime?".

Maya shakes her head in protest and struggles to escape from his embrace "You are definitely trying to kill me! Leave me at once! I do not want to ride a horse!".

Xavier drags Maya away from Eros as she is in the verge of crying and declares "Alright! Don't cry now!".

Maya blinks back her tears and sniffs pushing him away in anger "I am not crying!".

Xavier looks at her and asks defeated "Will you smile if I give you Charles?".

Maya instantly stops sniffing and looks at him brightly.

'Charles?'.

Xavier controls his urge to laugh as he doesn't want to laugh over her crying face and sighs "Then be it!".

He walks into the barn muttering something under his breath.

Maya looks at Eros and gulps.

HORSE NEIGHS!

She smiles seeing Charles and within a moment, Charles stood in front of her. She voluntarily forwards her hand and c.a.r.e.s.ses his face. She raises her eyebrows surprised realizing both the horses looked identical.

She feels strange as she is not afraid of Charles but Eros almost made her die in fear.

'You are not scaring me...I wonder why.. May be I know you before..'.

 Xavier frowns strangely "I wonder how you managed to attract him. It took few months even for me to get him like me".

Maya smirks mockingly "It needs a kind heart, Sir. Unlike someone.. who tried to kill me by throwing at that horse rudely!".

Xavier smirks "You are ignorant of details, My Lady. You are ignoring the best skilled horse and treasuring the least skilled one".

Maya smiles patting Charles lovingly "It is nothing to do with skills when there is love in us. What do you say Charlie?!".

HORSE NEIGHS!

Xavier looks at her in a daze "…" Is she referring only the horses?

Maya asks with a smirk plastered on her face "Would you mind teach me some basics before leaving?".

Xavier comes out of daze and hops down. After teaching her simple basics of riding horses, Xavier and Maya leaves the Royal Palace together.

Maya was closed followed by Xavier carefully. But to his surprise, Maya was not a first time rider anymore. She learnt little faster than him. But still he knows that was because of Charles likes her. If not for that reason, he could imagine what would have happened to her by now.

Charles would have taught her a great lesson then she would even have forgotten about seeing a horse in her lifetime! Forget about her love for riding a horse!

The Empress Pavilion.

Veronica is seated on her relaxing chair which was her mother's favourite place to rest. She c.a.r.e.s.ses the chair and recalls Maya's words seriously.

"The Crown Prince has arrived!".

She smiles hearing the announcement and stands while Kalki entered the chamber with a solemn face.

She runs next to him and asks affectionately "Brother? How did it go? Did any Royal member get displeased by that girl?".

Kalki just stares her with a raised eyebrow.

Veronica is used to Kalki's silence and continues her question "Have you thought of something to get rid of that girl? We have to make a move before she does something else and attract our Father!".
