The Commoner Consort: The Country's Respected Empress

Xavier doesn't know why he is sensing something burdening his heart hearing her words, He looks at Maya in a daze.

'How could she think so much from that tiny head?!'

He couldn't help feel proud hearing her speaking such huge things. He looks around the crowd and feels ashamed 'She was right...about us ..Royals.. We literally don't think for people the way we should be..'.

Maya smiles bitterly lokking at Xavier "I still wonder why no one in this Court did not disagree to this heartless decision!" and she subconsciously looks at Kalki "Except ....".

'I failed to think about this man again! I never had a chance to know his final decision... I wonder whether he would have agreed...'

Now everyone's attention went towards Kalki.

Kalki ".."

Maya looks back at the man and smirks teasingly  "The accusation of the betrayal is still on you, Sir".

The man looked at her perplexed ".." Just what does she want?! Is she helping me or trying to kill me?!.

He starts panicking "I deserve to be punished for my ignorance, Your Highness!! But please do not accuse me for betrayal! I wouldn't dare to do such crime! I wouldn't dare even in my next life!".

Maya is taken aback by his sudden obedience 'Didn't Sarah tell the words 'Your Highness' is exclusively for the King, Queen, Princes and Princesses?! Finally he acknowledges that I am a Queen?!' and speaks frowning "I, even a mere commoner is aware of the issues arising in the country. How could you add fuel to them by snatching the people's land?! Wouldn't that make the situation worse? Do you think His Highness doesn't has any other duties to discharge?! How long do you want His Highness to fight for you?".

Only then the  Royal people realized the seriousness of the situation. Everyone is well aware of the revolts are being suppressed by both Kalki and Xavier. But what made them to go speechless is her attention to these things. Her understanding to these administrative things and people's situations made them in short of speech.

She wonders looking at the man "If a Royal member who is accustomed to difficult situations himself could be easily manipulated-".

Seeing him looking down embarrassed, she asks looking at everyone "-then what can be expected from the people? Instead of supressing them from revolting-".

"I beg The Imperial Court's forgiveness! His majesty is asking for Our Queen's presence!".

Kalki gets irked by the sudden disturbance and frowns strangely.

'Does he want to die?! Did he forget the rule that no one should interupt Her Highness's-... her speech?'.

He was given a shocking surprise today by Maya. Not everyone manages to surprise him successfully! 

The servant announced entering the Imperial Court and left the Court right after the announcement after a short bow as if his life would be at stake for his action even he stays there for a single second.

It seems he is well aware of the rules, yet helpless in the situation.  I wonder what or who made him to interupt Maya's speech with such urgency...Well back to the Imperial Court. One story at one time!

Maya looks at Xavier and speaks looking the crowd for a last time "I am grateful for hearing me".

She looks at the man and nods, which made him to get stunned in ecstasy.

She was about to walk but turns towards Kalki and bows slightly. As she shouldn't leave the Court without paying respect to him. A round of applause for Sarah! She succeeded in making a commoner into a Royal member in short period of time. She turns back to the crowd and smiles faintly "Please be seated".

Saying so, she walks out of the Imperial Court leaving everyone stoned. They didn't expect her to be so considerate about them for being stood the whole time!

They didn't realize that they were standing till she mentioned.

They look at each other in wonder and take their respective seats in a daze. Maya's leave from the Imperial Court felt like a calmness after several storms.

The man representing the Countryside Village sighs in relief and requests to Kalki timidly "Your Highness! Seems we made a dire mistake. We would look into this matter once again thoroughly. We request permission, Your Highness".

Kalki waves his hand dispersing the Court.

The soldier announced loudly.

"The Court adjourns!"

Everyone leaves the court murmuring about the events happened in the court today. Even though we couldn't hear them clearly, we can guess ourselves by their attitude and expressions which has changed entirely now.

While here, Maya's speech made Xavier to get confused to a state where he doesn't get whom she was mentioning as 'His Highness'!

Even thought he felt, that she was hinting about him while mentioning the suppression of revolts, he couldn't feel happy in other thought.

'What if she mentioned Xander? He too has been busy fighting the battles!'.

In his engrossed state, Xavier failed to notice Kalki's gaze on him. Xavier leaves the Court in a daze who is still engrossed by Maya's thoughts. He couldn't help feel anxious and worried at the thought.

Kalki remains seated and left behind with his own mysterious thoughts.

Xavier's Chamber.

Xavier removes his formal clothes and sighs throwing the outer rob away. He notices his favourite  Bow which was hung against the wall and c.a.r.e.s.ses it.

'I don't get time to practice Archery lately...'

"What are you thinking about now ?".

Xavier gets out from his thoughts and shakes his head "Nothing much. Just..feeling confused..". He walks towards Kalki who was siting in a chair already.

Seems the brothers wouldn't be shocked or surprised to find the other in their chambers.

Kalki stands from the chair and asks slowly "Don't you have something to say?".

Xavier lifts his gaze to Kalki's face and tilts his head confused. He felt a pang in his heart for some reason while Kalki asked the question. 

'What if he misunderstands without knowing anything completely?  Wait! Would he have noticed?! Very well! Am I doubting his observing skills?!'.
