"If I'm going to tell you something I might as well start from the day I left the country. I don't know if you knew, but I wasn't actually sent abroad to study. I left on my own accord."

The moment she started speaking all his attention was on her. This thing, he already knows base on his conversation with Xi Chen so he wasn't surprised at all.

Like a flash of lightning, her memories of the past came rushing back to her, what more is that even the things she wasn't planning on sharing were now demanding her attention.

"At first, I was only hotel hopping for a few days until I decided I want to leave the country."

"You were a minor, how were you able to get out of the country without anyone to support you?" this is a question that has been running through his mind since the moment he heard about it.

If there is one thing in this world that could make everything easier that would be money, "Having a lot of money, why not put it into good use right? I hired people to create an entirely new identity for me, since I am the heiress of Xi Empire it's really easy for me to keep everything under wraps, even away from the prying eyes of my grandfather. I also hired someone who will act as my nanny because as a teenager, consents and the likes are very important when it comes to a lot of things."

Lim Yi Sheng continued listening without once interrupting her, "I never asked for money nor I ever used the money they've send. At first, I used my savings until I started earning my own."

Xi Ana seemed calm and collected but inside her mind there was a constant battle about what she need to shared. "Qi Lu.." she paused for a while.

On the other hand, his attention suddenly perked up when he heard the familiar way she calls his name, its too familiar that he can't help but feel jealous.

He sighed inwardly, if he would be asked before what is jealousy he would have answered that it was a nonsensical thing, that it is better not to dwell on it but if he will be asked now, he would probably say it is a monster that will slowly eat you up when you continuously feed it.

"I met Qi Lu a long way back, we are childhood friends. When I was a child, shortly after I had my 8th birthday I was transferred in a small private school although it was not nationwide known it was a very infamous private school among the rich families who wanted to have their children receive the best education in a controlled environment."

He also heard about that school from his grandfather before but his grandmother insisted for him to attend a normal school to experience what it felt like to be a normal child.

"The way we were too protected in itself was suffocating and that was when I met Qi Lu. When I turned my back on the whole world, everyone tried to console the princess, everyone tried to coax here until it became tiring but Qi Lu was different. He was patient but he was never gentle."

What would have happened if he really enrolled in that school? What would have changed?

"Basically he was with me when I left the country and he's been with me ever since then. Meanwhile, we met Fang Wenna and Li Jingli in the school we enrolled in after a two years of living overseas."

She observed the facial expression of the man who is intently listening to her every words and she knew he was taking this seriously, at some point she felt a little bit guilty because there are certain things she won't be able to say.

"Actually, our connections each other isn't just about being friends we are also business partners." upon hearing this, Lim Yi Sheng's eyebrows creased because as far as his knowledge goes only the Fang and Li Families has a connection with each other. There were no business interaction between them and the Xi Empire much more the Xi Family.

"How come? The Xi Family have not yet expanded on City M. Likewise, they to have not step foot on the corporate industry of City A." if there are interactions between the nine noble families, they usually do it discreetly as it could trigger something enormous just like what happened many years ago which resulted to one of the families being stripped off their high place.

"Of course not because only us knew the connection we have wit each other. Like me and Qi Lu they also used different identities while were abroad although not at first they eventually did so because they can see the freedom we have upon being stripped of our identities."

"So, all of you travelled using different identities so that you can move freely. And used your real identity to cover up your tracks?"

"Like I say, money can do a lot of things although it was like that we didn't stay idle for those eight years, we supported ourselves financially by setting up our own companies everywhere and appointed people to oversee them physically but behind those facade, it was actually a group of teenagers who were their bosses." this only proves how capable they are.

"It wasn't easy, we took several classes to speed up our education. Also, by using a different identity we aren't risking too much considering who we really are."

"So when Li Jingl said playground, he was pertaining to your companies overseas?"

"Yeah."

Suddenly, he realized something which made him look intently at her. Is she planning on doing something big? But why? For what reason? "Xi Ana, do you realize that you are now the most powerful woman in this country?"

She's not totally oblivious to what he's pertaining to but she also can't agree to him, if she really is then she wouldn't have suffered for so long. Having four of the nine families within her grasp, she would indeed attract a lot of attention. This possibility cannot be ruled out.

"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not who knows." sh smiled lightly.

Xi Ana squeezed his hand, "I can't possibly tell you about everything that happened in that eight years that I've been away but everything I said were all true."

He knows that she deliberately avoided some parts of the story but he didn't really wanna pry open the things she still isn't ready to speak about, this conversation in itself is a big progress in their relationship.

"Ana, I wanted to ask you about something."

"Uhm?"

"It's about An Qi Lu."
