Xi Ana woke up and found herself lying on the queen sized bed alone. It was to be expected, she knew he would eventually leave before she wakes up. She slowly sat on the bed and found a note on top of the table which she can easily recognize the writing.

See you again soon. I missed you.

If she would to describe her relationship with him, it would be along the lines of brother or a best friend? Well, it's not like it matters to them but she knew that he's the only person in this world that she can fully trust with everything that she has.

Upon checking the clock she realized that it is already 4:00 am in the morning so she rushed to the bathroom and prepared herself for the day.

This day would surely be eventful, as she would need to attend a charity ball tonight with her husband. After the press conference that they held, this would be the first time that they would appear together in public for an event.

When she saw her reflection on the mirror, the events of last night suddenly flashed before her. How many years has it been since she had an attack? Two years? Three years? But no matter how long it has been, the intensity of the pain never decreases.

If it wasn't for the medicine that An Qi Lu left on her drawer, she wouldn't have been able to withstand the pain. She would have died right there and then.

She stared at her pale and white face and asked herself silently, for how long will this last? For how long does she need to pretend that everything's alright when they are actually not.

When she started to feel a familiar ache on her c.h.e.s.t, she immediately washed away the thoughts that were lingering in her mind. She's not that m.a.s.o.c.h.i.s.t enough to implicate pain on her own.

Xi Ana tied her long and wavy hair on a high ponytail before finally walking out of the bathroom and went straight to her office. She sat on her swivel chair and realized that she didn't even finish half of her work last night.

Before finally resuming her work, she checked first her phone and saw the birthday greetings from Xi Chen and her Grandfather, which made her smile. For the past few years, these messages would actually remind her that her birthday was actually the day before and since it's already over it would not normally have a great effect on her like last night.

After checking the messages, she realized that there is actually one missed call from Lim Yi Sheng which was around 1:30 am in the morning. It's already 5:00 am now and she knew that the man is already up by this time so she decided to make a call.

It didn't take three rings when the other line was connected, "You awake?" she asked.

Her casual question tugged his heart, he wasn't able to sleep at all and even called her unconsciously last night. "Uhm.. Were you able to sleep?"

"Yeah."

Lim Yi Sheng then remembered that they would have to attend a charity ball tonight so he opened the topic, "I'll accompany you to Lily's, since the ball would start at 8:00 pm I would pick you up at 3:00 pm. Is that alright with you?"

Lily's is the only place where her clothes, from casual to formal wears were made. And this is the only place where she would allow anyone touch her freely. It is hers after all.

On the other hand, though his response seems normal, Xi Ana could sense a vague feeling that there is something off with him but she still answered him anyway, "Okay, I'll wait for you."

"Okay, take care for the rest of the day. I'll see you later." there is really something wrong with him.

"What's wrong?" she asked directly.

The man on the other line didn't respond, how would he tell her what bothers him right? Would he tell her that he's investigating her past only for him to be hated by her? Or ask her about the role of that 'Master An' in her life?

He decided to stay silent, "You don't have to tell me what's bothering you. I won't force you, but I'm here. Remember that, okay?"

A slight pang of pain travelled through his heart. Were you really?

"Uhm.."

She didn't press on the matter and just bid him goodbye.

Xi Ana ordered not to disturb her unless it's absolutely necessary, after wasting so much time last night she can't afford to waste any now. Though, the undisturbed day didn't stay that way for the entire day.

Her office door flung open and a petite woman in a corporate suit entered, when she saw the badge of Xi Corporation pinned on the left area of her c.h.e.s.t she immediately knew that she is from the secretarial office which is under the direct supervision of Hannah.

"Didn't you know the protocol?" she raised her left eyebrow.

No one is allowed to enter her office without her approval. That has always been the unspoken rule.

"I'm so sorry Ma'am, but Ms. Hannah went on a meeting, and the other secretaries are on a lunch break that is why I had to go in myself." the woman looks frightened, who would not if they are facing the cold and stoic face of their boss.

Also, she's newly promoted as a secretary and she still on the stage of getting the ropes of the work.

The Secretarial Office is a level lower than the Top Floor.

Not wanting to waste time Xi Ana asked why she suddenly came in, "What's the matter?"

"Be..because.." she looked pale as if all the blood inside her body was s.u.c.k.e.d dry.

The woman felt more nervous when she felt the metal touched her lower back, urging her to step forward. She struggled to walk, her feet felt as though they don't have more energy left on them.

On the other hand, Xi Ana was rather confused but when the door to her office was opened wider and she saw another woman holding a gun she already understand what's happening.

"President.." she couldn't hide the tears anymore. She's way too scared. This is her first time being held hostage with a gun.

"You can go and don't speak of this incident to anyone, no one should know about this. Do you understand?" though she said this, her gaze never left the woman who's smiling devilishly.

The moment the coldness of the metal left her back she nodded rather desperately and scurried out the office. The other woman then closed the door.

"What do you think you're doing Mo Mo?"

"What do you think I'm doing?" she said as she sat comfortably at the couch.

Xi Ana wasn't all that surprised how she managed to get inside her building and with a gun at that. More than anyone else, it was her who knew the extent of her capabilities. If she managed to get her, it only means that her security isn't enough not to let the same thing happen.

"If you're thinking whether you need to improve your security, the answer would be yes and no. It's practically unbreachable its so happen that it was me. Basically, you don't have to improve anything if you're trying to fend off people of ow caliber than me but of course, this is something I can easily surpass." she said as if it's a matter of fact.

"What are you doing here? If you're planning to kill me then you should try again next time." she said coldly. Whenever she looks at her she felt somehow bitter, she had high hopes for her but in the end she only betrayed them.

Laughter erupted from Han Tu Mo, "How could I even think of killing your right here? If I plan to do so, I should at least bring more people with me don't you think? After all, even though it's hard to admit I know that I'm still not at the same level as you."

Han Tu Mo knew Xi Ana, and if she tried to kill her now what might happen is that it was her who would die instead.

"If you knew, why would you come waltzing inside my territory Han Tu Mo?"

Han Tu Mo immediately stiffened upon hearing the cold voice of Xi Ana, this is the first time that she ever used such hostile reaction towards her. Even though she'd done so many thing to them, it would be An Qi Lu that's being cold to her.

She regained her composure as soon as possible. It is true that she went here on her own accord.

"Ana, you don't have to be so cold to me you know. I mean no harm today, at least for today." no matter how much she hates her it doesn't change the fact that it was them who saved her.

"I just want to thank you for saving me that day."

Xi Ana arched her eyebrow but remained silent, Han Tu Mo on the other hand, seized this chance to leave.

"I don't know if you can still remember but anyways I'm done with what I want to say so I'm gonna take my leave."

She strode off the office and closed the doors behind her, only then did Xi Ana realized that today is the day they found her.

Xi Ana laughed. What was that? Is she trying to be filial to me after all the things she'd done?
