The CEO's Wife Has A Secret

For the following days until Lim Yi Sheng's arm is fully healed he was working from home, Xi Ana didn't do any overtimes for the time being so that she can go home early to tend to his needs and today is her husband's first day to work in the office after two weeks.

"Your assistant called me last night saying that he won't be back to pick you today as he's not yet done with his business trip in City F. Since you don't like anyone else driving you, I'll send you to work for today." Xi Ana said while tying her long hair. Whenever her hair is pulled back, she looks more intimidating than she usually is but to his eyes, she just looks s.e.xier and nothing else.

They are the same in this aspect, they don't like other people driving for them unless it is someone they trust.

"Okay."

Soon after, Xi Ana's assistant arrived. Both of them boarded the car and Xi Ana immediately instructed Hannah to drive them first to Lim Corporation to drop her husband.

On the way, Xi Ana remembered the case about the woman who wants to kill her husband. She was told not to think about it anymore and that he will personally deal with it without worrying her, Xi Ana complied but she still asks for updates from time to time.

"Have you found the woman who tried to kill you?" he turned to look at his wife who's busy scrolling through reports though he is also doing the same, it's become a habit for him to look at her whenever she's talking or asking something.

"Yeah, but she's already dead." she stopped scrolling and looked at her husband as if asking for a broader explanation.

"No other traces. It's a dead end." if he says so then it really is a dead end. Xi Ana went back to what she's working on.

"Then just be careful next time." it might look like she just said it for the sake of saying it but she really meant what she said.

"I will. By the way, Nai He wants to have dinner with us. When will you be able to clear your evening schedule, he's been pestering me for quite some time now." he promised Lu Nai He but he still wasn't able to fulfill it until now. They've been quite busy this past few days.

"Ask Hannah." the woman who's driving was a bit shocked at the sudden mention of her name but she was able to regain herself easily.

"As much as I would love to free the president's evening schedules, unfortunately, all her important business meetings are set for evening this week. The soonest time I can guarantee CEO Lim will be next week Wednesday." as much as possible, she always memorize the president's schedule because she didn't want to make any mistakes. One mistake could affect the company already.

"That's fine. Thank you, Hannah." Hannah is a half Korean, half Chinese but she grew up in America that's why she's used to using her English name, Hannah Lee. Her English is also fluent.

Finally, they arrived at the private parking lot of Lim Corporation. "We're here."

"Uhm." She nodded and didn't even lift her gaze to meet his. He sighed in disbelief. He leaned and kissed her forehead. Xi Ana wasn't surprised with the sudden action, he's been doing that ever since he was stuck at home to work. Whenever Xi Ana goes to work in the morning he would always kiss her forehead, though at first she was a bit shocked as days passed she eventually got used to it.

Hannah, on the other hand, was indeed shocked with the scene. She never thought that the man who is known for being cold and mean has a soft side like this and it never even crossed her mind that Xi Ana, her boss, would let anyone be that comfortable around her. This is a bit too much to absorb for her especially because she knew exactly the peculiarity of their relationship.

"Take care." he said as he was about to open the car door. Xi Ana finally looked at him.

"I'm not the one who has a killer admirer but I suppose I will." his wife really has a smart mouth, Lim Yi Sheng thought. If he would reword it in layman's term it would be, 'You are the one who should take care and not me.'

"Yeah, I will be careful." he smiled as he answered the way Xi Ana expected him to be and with that he went out of the car.

"Xi Ana, when do you plan to bring your husband in our house? Do you want me to drag the both of you here so that you'll have dinner with this old man?" Grandfather Xi exclaimed. The whole company was in an uproar with the chairman's sudden visit but no one knows that the purpose of his visit isn't for a surprise inspection just like how it usually is for a company's chairman but in reality he just wanted to have dinner with his grandson-in-law.

"You should have told me over the phone, Grandfather." she placed the Jasmine tea in front of his grandfather and sat down at the opposite side of him.

"If I did that, you would have brushed me off saying that you're busy." though he's not entirely correct but she would have really told him that they are both busy and doesn't have time to eat with him.

"I'm sure you've heard from Hannah that my evening schedule for this week is quite loaded, and they are not business meetings I can easily postpone even with the power I hold." she's indeed powerful but she's fully aware that she's not the only one who has the power. After all, the world is vast and no matter how wealthy she is she will never be the most powerful person in the whole world.

"I knew you would say that so I prepared before hand, your business meeting tonight will be postponed." there was a malicious grin plastered in his grandfather's face and that made her a bit worried.

"What did you do, Grandfather?" she inquired, she was sure that her grandfather did something. Before the old man could answer, there was a light knock from her office door and Hannah went inside.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, President Xi."

"It's okay, what is it that you wanted to say?" it seems urgent because as much as possible Hannah never interrupts whenever Xi Ana is with the chairman, her brother, or even with CEO Lim.

"Chairman Gu canceled your meeting for tonight, he personally called to apologize. It seems like there was a huge rocket at one of their company branch in City E that's why he immediately booked a flight there. He also told me that he would make it up to you." Xi Ana looked at his grandfather who looks like he knows it will happen.

"Okay, Set me on a phone call later on and I will personally call them. Thank you, Hannah." Hannah bowed and left the office.

"I'm gonna ask you again, Grandfather. What did you do?" of all things she hates is underhanded methods, She know that a lot of powerful people uses this kinds of methods to climb higher but it doesn't mean she will also do the same. She was able to reach where she is today through her efforts and not because of schemes.

"You don't have to worry my dear grand daughter, your grandfather is still in his right mind. I heard that their company branch in City E is suffering minor loses, though it's not big it has been going on for a year. On the surface, they managed to cover up the reason for this loses but I did some deep investigation and found out that the branch president is conspiring with the branch's stockholder and they are swindling the company's assets bit by bit."

"And?" his grand daughter really has a short patience when it comes to these things. He knows that she hates underhanded methods, she also hates opening any back doors for anyone. He suddenly thought of his grandson who's years younger than Xi Ana, it must have been tough for that little boy to be trained under his sister.

"I anonymously sent the information in Chairman Gu's office." Xi Ana sighed. She can't believe that her grandfather will resort to this just to have a dinner with her and her husband.

"Just think of it as compensation for them, because even if I didn't know about that I would find other ways to cancel that meeting." he's really persistent this time.

"Fine. I'll give him a call. I will also tell Xi Chen to pick you up, Yi Sheng has been telling me to set a dinner with him. Also, let's just eat dinner at our house in Imperial, okay?" why does it feel like everyone wants to have dinner lately? Didn't they know how precious her evening meetings are?

"Well, I must agree that's probably the best way to avoid attracting unnecessary news." Grandfather Xi is aware that they want to keep their marriage as a secret to the public. They once had a dinner with Elder Lim and Mother Lim, Lim Yi Sheng's mother in a private location to avoid the prying eyes of the public.

The only members of their families who knew about their marriage are Elder Lim, Madame Lim, he Grandfather, and her brother, Xi Chen. Their decision of keeping it a secret was approved by the two elders, after all they got what they wanted and that was to marry their grandchildren off.

"I'll ask your assistant to report to me if you're doing unnecessary things again. Don't stress yourself over matters like this. I'll take care of the rest." Xi Ana touched the place in between her eyebrows with her index finger to massage it a little.

"My assistant is loyal to me though." he smiled and prepared himself to leave.

"Indeed. His loyalty lies to you therefore he would report to me if you are doing things that might harm you." He might have recovered already but it doesn't mean he's strong as he was before, taking precautionary measures is a must.

Grandfather Xi is contemplating whether to speak his mind or not, Xi Ana noticed this, "Just tell me what it is, Grandfather."

"Aren't you going to tell your father about your marriage? After all, he's still your and Xi Chen's father." Xi Ana never talked about his father, she doesn't even want to hear the man's name.

"He left on his own accord. I don't have any responsibility to tell him about what's happening with my life nor my brother's life. He left when mom died, right? He didn't even consider that he still has children." her short response made Grandfather Xi ached for her.

After what happened with her mom, their father left home and never came back again. She might not have remembered the things that happened on her 7th birthday but she can remember all the other things that she experienced with her parents.

Grandfather Xi knew that her relationship with her father wasn't like that before but everything went the wrong way after that tragic incident that changed all of their lives.
