...

Darius and Steve approached the building cautiously, it wasn't too long ago that a bunch of infected people came running out of this building in a frenzy. During their approach, the sky gave off a flash of light and a booming sound. It was raining so bad that it was hard to see, both of them were soaked completely by the rain before slowly entering the building.

Darius was walking towards the hall they heard the sound come from some time ago before he left with Kara. "That isn't the hallway we lost her in. The hallway that we lost sight of her in was that hallway over there." Steve whispered and pointed toward another hallway on the other side.

Darius didn't say anything and nodded slightly as he walked back. They both walked down the hall but stopped immediately and withdrew back around the corner. Darius was stunned by what he saw, he had spotted at least 17 infected in the hallway just standing around. There were at least 4 or 5 of them ramming and banging against a door up ahead.

"There are way too many of them to fight!" Darius sighed deeply, how could this happen? They were so close to leaving this world in one piece. "How did you even meet those other people in the first place?" Darius asked. If it wasn't for that fatman then Ahri wouldn't be in this situation.

"When we enter here, we naturally heard the banging sound so we went to check it out." Steve began to relay all the events that happened until this point to Darius in detail. Darius' mouth twitched a bit when he heard the whole story, he would remember this and not to just help people, this was definitely so for NPCs.

"Glad to know that this is the case, I've come to a resolve!" Darius took note of the treacherous personalities of people he could possibly meet in the future. Steve was confused about what Darius was talking about, but didn't ask what he meant and just stayed silent.

Suddenly, Darius thought of something. "Are there any rooms in this building that have two doorway passages?" Asked Darius

"Hmm, there should be. There was another room on this floor, and the one we hid in had only one passage inside with no other doors." Steve wasn't sure what Darius wanted to do but he answered as best as he could.

"Let's go search for a room like that, I have a plan to get rid of all of these infected!" Darius walked away the minutes he said that and Steve immediately followed. After hearing what Darius said; he was slightly stunned. It wasn't that he was stunned by Darius' plan but what he called those psychos.

"You said infected, what do you mean by that?" Steve couldn't help but ask. He had some thought about those "things" and what they could be, had seen that once you were bitten by them, it was over, you would be just like them and attack anyone that isn't like them.

"It's just as I said. They are infected with a virus, the virus is contracted through bites, scratches, and through their blood. In this case, if their blood gets in your mouth, eyes or open wounds, you're done for." Darius briefly explained to Steve how the virus worked, Steve was shocked to hear this, he was suspicious about this at first but this had completely gone beyond what he speculated.

"This...How do you know so much about this virus? The breakout just started not too long ago, this would be impossible to find out in such a short period of time." Steve knew that what Darius was saying was definitely true, it made perfect sense; he had seen it happen to many people as he escaped with his family, but this much, he didn't know.

"Haha, just you wait, it's going to get worse, but it won't end the world. A cure for this virus will be found but until then they will use different means to avoid these things." Darius didn't answer his question, he only countered by pretty much telling him that this wouldn't last forever, so survive until then. Gerry Lane, aka, brad pit would soon find a way to fake out the infected to make it seem like they were infected just like them.

Steve knew that Darius didn't want to tell him any more, so he didn't bother to ask further. They soon came across a room that was just right for Darius' plan. "Perfect, this room is just perfect, here is the plan." Darius began to relay his plan, Steve would bait all the infected to this room. Once the infected chased him into the room, he would go out the other door in this room by shutting it and locking it. Darius would hide behind the entry door. Once the infected were inside after pursuing Steve, he would shut it from behind, thus trapping all the infected inside.

Steve shivered hearing this plan, he wanted to refute and have Darius be the bait instead. Darius simply told him that there was no way he could fit behind the door to hide from them once he drew them here. Steve was a pretty big dude, he would easily be spotted behind the door due to his size. Steve sighed and reluctantly agreed to the plan. Before he left, Darius simply told him, don't trip and fall. This caused him to shiver as he broke out into a cold sweat; he knew if he slipped and fell, it was the end!

Darius hid himself behind the door silently while Steve walked off. Steve arrived at the scene before and the infected were still there standing around doing nothing but groaning. The infected that were still slamming the door every now and then were getting exhausted from doing so, but the door didn't look like it would last much longer. Steve took a deep breath and steeled his will and shouted.

"Hey, you f.u.c.kers, come and get me if you can, ya bastards!" The infected all turned their heads and looked at Steve. Their eyes glinted with insanity. Once they saw Steve, they completely lost it and roared. They all rushed Steve like it was the last thing they had to do, even the ones ramming the door started to pursue him.

"F.U.C.K!" Steve turned tail and ran with all his might. He saw the madness in their eyes which nearly scared him to death. These things were definitely not human anymore; he thought! The infected cut the corner so fast that they ran into the wall, the pain didn't bother them at all, they all piled on each other as they cut the corner but they still continued to pursue Steve with everything they had.

"These things are psychos, they aren't bothered by pain or anything, complete madness!" Steve screamed with fear but he kept running; he could hear many roars and footsteps catching up to him, these things could run fast! Soon, the room came into the sight and Steve ran into it. Once he was inside, he hurried to the other door and ran through it to shut it. Several infected came inside and rammed the door that Steve locked and ran through. Darius was on the other side of the entry door that the infected ran through. Once they were all in, he shut the door and locked it.

"Success!" Darius smiled victoriously, all the infected on this floor had been locked in the room. Steve went all the way around and grouped up with Darius who was on the other side. "Very nice, it worked perfectly, and you didn't slip." Darius patted Steve's shoulder and congratulated him. Blacklines appeared on Steve's sweaty forehead as his mouth twitched a bit at the same time.

"Let's just go rescue your friend and leave here." Steve just wanted to get out of here as fast as he could. This place most likely had more infected hanging around but they were on the higher floors. Darius couldn't agree more and they both rushed to the location they believed Ahri could be trapped at.

"Once they were there, the hallway was empty and there were no infected to be found. "Good, now where is she? There were some infected ramming on the door before we checked this hallway out." He then saw a blood trail on the floor leading into the room and he knew what this meant. Darius walked up to the door and knocked on it and spoke.

"Ahri, it's me, Darius. Are you there, are you okay?" Darius said through the door. He heard some movement all of a sudden through the door. The door slowly opened to revealed Ahri, who had tired and exhausted expression. She was so excited to see Darius that she dove in his arms without thinking.

"I-I was so scared!" Darius sighed and looked at the wound on her legs that was covered with a piece of cloth from her clothes. He put her arm over his shoulder and walked slowly away with Steve watching their backs. The way Steve yelled early should have attracted many infected to this area but due to the thunderstorm, it covered the noise from going to the second floor.

After about five minutes, they made it to the motorhome under the heavy rain. The door was opened by Sarah who had already dumped the bodies of Edgar and Mendaz somewhere. "Oh, thank god you're back!" Sarah paused and saw Ahri's conditions. "Let me take her to the room in the back to rest a bit, she doesn't look too good." Darius nodded as they boarded the motorhome, it was time to leave this place. Darius heard a notification go off in his head the minutes he made it to the motorhome; he knew he had completed the mission. He could check now but planned to afterward.

"I'll drive. It's been a while since I drove one of these babies, haha!" Steve was excited to drive the motorhome, something he hadn't done in years since his was confiscated by the government because he couldn't pay it. Steve started the motorhome and they pulled out of the RV lot on to their next destination. Sarah had taken Ahri to the backroom to rest, but she was in serious need of antibiotics for her wound or it would get infected.

"We need to go to a pharmacist store for Ahri, use this to find one we can loot." Darius pulled the GPS system out of one of the bags and handed it to Sarah, who wanted to sit in the front seat next to her husband, who was driving.

"Sure, that should be a piece of cake." Sarah said as she took the GPS. She went to the front and sat next to her husband and began the search. She probably didn't need it but they came from the countryside so they may not know this area too well, so Darius handed them the GPS for assurance.

Darius started heading to the back room where Ahri was and spotted Lara who was sitting next to the table with a somewhat pale face. Darius shook his head and sighed; he knew this was because of the sudden death of that Latin man he saw. He didn't say anything and continued to where Ahri was. Once he was in the back room, he saw Ahri laying on the bed. Darius looked over and saw that the television was on, it was a cartoon show on it!

'How can we even get channels at this time?' Darius thought. He looked over and saw that Kara was watching TV from the other bed in the room, it was like she didn't even see Darius walk in, she was in her own world. Darius felt pity, this kid wasn't very aware of the dangers of this world and was still having happy fantasies.

Darius sat on the side of Ahri's bed and said. "Are you okay? Don't worry, we're heading to a store to get some medicine for your leg." Ahri opened her eyes and looked at Darius with a smile.

"Thank...you!" Ahri said slowly

"Did you check the status of this world, we should be leaving soon, we just have to wait a little longer." Ahri brought up the status and was happy to see that being in this world was drawing to a close. Darius took this time to check his status to see what he had earned so far.

"Hmm, looks good. I'll see if I can open that Mystery box! Open-box!" Darius said to himself....but nothing happened. "Hehe, I should have expected this, I probably can open it once I get into the cube room." Darius dismissed it and looked at Ahri's leg.

"I've killed that Fatman, so you don't need to worry about him." Ahri's eye opened wide from shock, she clearly understood what Darius said. He actually killed someone! "Don't look at me like that, I had to do it, you know what he did to you," Darius said with a smile. Ahri thought for a moment and nodded; she knew this was how things had to be. She was also so mad at Edgar that she felt like killing him as well. They had killed some men before but not directly, it was due to an explosion, so they didn't kill them with their own hands.

Darius continued to sit on the bed and turned to watch the cartoon that was on the television. It was surprisingly, Dora the Explora! "Wow, this cartoon is in this world, what is going on?" Darius chuckled and continued to watch, Kara was all eyes for the show and so was Ahri who just laid there watching.
