Friday, 6:45 p.m

"Build Up"

With one day left until the mission I visit the local library, I march up the long stairs guiding me to the tall and wide brick building. Once I made it to the door there's a bronze door made of copper and steel outlining. "State your name, address, occupation, education, and social security," I glance over and found a red orb. I place my hand over it and it glew in bright red, "You may enter." The door opens, what sits directly before me is two staircases leading to two different hallways.

I saunter up the left staircase which leads to books and projects, the room can be viewed from the outside with the walls being half-silvered glass. The door is made out of tempered glass and is primarily located on the side of the librarian desk space. I twist the doorknob and hear a loud ring coming from the bell above the door. I find it a little odd that there's a bell that loud in a library. 

"Hello, what can I help you with," I gaze over and see a woman in her 60's standing across from me. She's dressed in a gray suit, and bold black glasses. "Oh, I just wanted to read and check out some books," she returns to her desk and grabbed a packet of paper and a pen. "Fill out the paperwork for an library ID," she sat me at a secluded square desk hidden by the rolls of bookshelves. I fill out the paperwork and hand it back to the librarian, she places me against one of the only non transparent walls and took my picture. After 2 minutes of waiting she called me over and handed me an ID. 

I go to pick out 6 books, The Start of the War, Hellions what are they, Soldiers, The Evolution of Soldiers, Awakening the Truth, and one that the system picked for me called "Raising the Unknown," I opened The Evolution of Soldiers and instantly absorbed all the information within microseconds. [Information downloaded ⅙] I knew that soldiers were finally created with the attention of defeating Hellions but not created to eventually take over other worlds, basically were once created to be assholes.

I read all of the other books and after only 10 minutes the system fully downloaded the information. I learned somewhat viable information and even things about myself, #1 the title X level has been experimented for 12 years but has never been successful until Doctor Shi performed the operation on me. I am a little confused as to why he didn't tell me that he placed me under the operation, usually people would love to become famous from that, he's the first ever doctor to successfully turn someone into a X level. The information that they have about Hellions wasn't much and spoke about how they want to kill humans, but one thing was interesting and that was the fact that hellions place other species into a type hypnosis; well I should say more of a manipulation system. They give species like goblins, elves, dragons or even regular animals like dogs or the alligator I killed, powers and areas to rule over. Another mysterious thing about hellions that have not been explained is where they come from, some speculated that they came from hell and some even say that they may be mutants.

Many people are terrified by the name hellion alone, yet praise soldiers. Soldiers are well renowned around the 5 great continents, World Capital, Asia, Africa, America, and Europe. Out of these five continents it's a total of 32 leaders, 41 S ranks, and 12 representatives, and as of now the amount of soldiers increased to a total of 889, while 341 recently passed away. The amount of A rank soldiers decreased to 132 and B rank and C rank increased to 191 and 201. With all of that information adding me into the equation there's now 1 X level. 

One book has not been loaded in at all despite downloading, [Raising the Unknown shall be unlocked at level 100] after hearing that I must raise my level even higher, the system really wants me to earn everything. I check my money earnings and I sit at 986,000 gld, which stands for gold. Our world's money is simple Copper, Silver, Nickel, and Gold. Cooper is usually used for something cheap like candy or toys, meanwhile Silver is used to buy things like groceries, or socks things that benefit us, Nickel is used to buy stuff like expensive dinners, or clothes like pants or shirts generally expensive, and finally Gold, used to buy accessories like armour and swords, it can often be seen with technology like phones and television's. They all fit in together, they're in coin shape made out of their respective names, Copper is worth 1 to 5 cent, Silver is 10 coppers in one, Nickel are 15 Silvers and Gold is 20 Nickels. They set it in this fashion so that people can be more aware of their spending.

I check out four more books and leave the library, it's dark outside and when I check my watch it's 8:10 p.m. on my way home I see a weapons store, I enter the store to find a fresh aroma, white spacious room with weapons and armour hanging up; the floor is a warm grey and man stands behind a counter waiting for me to approach him. I look around but find no interesting armour, I go up to the man behind the armour and ask about any swords or daggers. He pointed me into another room and told me "that's where the good stuff is." All the weapons hanging up are sold at a cheap and reasonable price compared to other stores.

I browsed around the selection, then finally found something. The dragonslayer, a broad black sword with dragon scales running down the middle. I also find a fire dagger, mainly used to emit fire types and for mages who need close range fighting. I went to the counter and the man began to ring it up, "are you another soldier, I usually get E or D ranks who can barely afford all this," he told me. After he finished ringing up the weapons he told me "it'll be 80 gold," then snickered. I reached into my bank's inventor and brought out a bag of 200 gold. His eyes widened as if he was shocked, " what rank are you sir, a C or B rank," I handed him my ID and he clearly couldn't believe what he's seeing.

"YOUR A S RANK, he shouted. Almost blowing out my eardrums I had to cover my ears, he told me that me being a S rank that I get a discount for weapons. I think to myself that I don't need it since all the stuff here is sold at a cheap price. I gesture to him that I don't need a discount, but he quickly ignored it. He begun to rapidly pace back and forth, he grabbed me by my hands and said never leave. I can see my reflection on his shiny bald head and instantly realized a striking resemblance, do you have a brother who sells funnel cakes and apples.

He quickly calmed himself and stood back, he cleared his throat and spoke normally. "Yes I do, how do you know him?" He asked. "I get food from him once in a while although he can be rather expensive," his brother usually sells me food for 10 Nickels and gives me free apples for making me spend so much. "Can I ask your name," I requested. 

"How rude of me, Isidore," his name is Isidore and brother's Gifore, meaning Greedy and Strong Gift. By their names alone I see why they're in a store set up. My older brother must've been a burden to you. Despite being the younger brother he looks 10 years older, he has white hairs growing from his goatee, and his mild wrinkles surrounding his eyes and mouth. He has a noticeable beer gut, and scars formed all over his arms. Like his brother he wears a silky black apron, and his sleeves are rolled up to show his forearm. Unlike his brother he doesn't have a tattoo running down his arm. 

Speaking of his brother, we hear a *ding* it's his brother Gifore walking into the shop. "Oh your here Abis, I haven't seen you in a week." he told me. "Sorry I've been busy," I responded. He shook my hand then asked is this the first time that I have been here. Of course I answered "Yes," as it was the truth. Gifore hangs up his apron on the coat hanger and takes a huge bag of money and threw the money into the cash register. 

"You seem confused, we work together, he does the food work since he is a good cook and I sell weapons and armour," Isidore said. I place my hand on my chin, they must make a lot of money. "I'll take over tomorrow, you can go to the meeting." Isidore looked excited, his entire reaction changed and did a 180°. "Abis, you can still order food tomorrow if you want."  

He stood up and grabbed a giant bag, well see you I got to go home my wife would be angry if I'm late tonight. He waved goodbye and left, Isidore went and flipped the sign on the front from open to close.

"We don't usually get customers at this hour so we usually close down early." 

I tell him that I understand and left.

"5 months ago"

November 13, Athens Hospital

I just got discharged from the hospital, I rest in my bed unable to move my legs. My sister stops into my room once in awhile to heal me little by little. She handed me a bottle of water, and tossed me some pills. I took three pills a day and slowly felt my legs again. My arms and throat were completely healed after only a week of being in the hospital but even after a month of being discharged from the hospital I wouldn't be able to stand nor walk on my own. I sat up every hour to flex my spine and picked up weights little by little everyday. My voice had already returned to me but sounded raspy, my sister would make the mistake of telling me to clear my throat. We always laughed it off and went on with our day.

November 25, Rehabilitation Center

The event of me almost dying gave me brain trauma, I was brought into rehabilitation to regain both lost memories and my ability to stand and walk. After a week of spine exercises I was finally able to do leg workouts. They had me grab onto a rail and walk straight down to the other side. Everyday I was brought here and the numbing tingling sensation disappeared, soon I could do things on my own. 

December 10, Home

I can stand and walk on my own, the feeling in my legs returned to me and after just 3 long months I can finally walk. The first thing I do is try to go for a jog, but it's obvious that I have to work myself back into running. My calf strength isn't as powerful as it once was. And I remember being irritated by my inability to push myself even further. The sky grew grey and white, and flakes of snow fell from the sky, winter had arrived. Winter has always been my favorite season, I love the cold, and the beauty in it. When everyone said they wanted the snow gone I wished the opposite. 

-Present-

I only remembered those days of me regaining my ability to walk from me walking past the race track I tried to run on, I think I should visit the rehabilitation center to show my appreciation. Most of my memories returned but I cannot remember past the system opening. Anyway I should give them a visit, especially since I got a mission tomorrow.
