After Yang Xin had enough teasing with Nie Lan she led Nie Lan to a room.

"You can use this room to practice alchemy, as an alchemy master you are entitled to some resources by the association as well as a practice room. We hope that you can become a great alchemist and raise the status of the association." Yang Xin smiled at Nie Lan.

Nie Lan felt touched as she felt a sisterly bond to Yang Xin for certain reasons...

"Can I get some herbs to concoct pills?" Nie Lan inquired.

Yang Xin with a pampering face told Nie Lan "Yeah, you can get some, just show them my badge." Yang Xin threw a badge with the word Yang on it.

Nie Lan thanked her and Yang Xin went away to her own room.

Nie Lan scouted out the room and found it quite comfortable, it was not too small and had a furnace, a couple of shelves, and also a miniature garden that she could plant herbs in. She felt that it had a good feeling to it and smiled.

Still smiling, Nie Lan walked towards the desk to request some herbs. Oblivious to the looks that are around her, a mix of awe, lovestruck, and soft glances are directed towards Nie Lan.

At the front desk she asked for a couple of herbs just to start off with and get more used to concocting pills in this body as her soul realm, force, and attribute have changed.

This one visit to get herbs have earned her the title "Pill Fairy" and also with the many smitten guys and pampering girls, she would one day become the face of the Alchemy Association, the mascot.

Nie Lan quickly gathered her herbs and went back to her room. She had a set of herbs for concocting and some seeds to plant. She quickly put the seeds in the garden so that she can slowly m.a.t.u.r.e them and began to concoct pills.

Nie Lan sat near the furnace for a few breaths to organize her thoughts, a few breaths to calm her mind and when she opened them she was ready to take her first step to being an alchemist.

Looking in front of her was a cauldron, with her eyes she can tell from the distribution of heat to the weight of the cauldron. These steps are often skipped by the average alchemist because they focus on the process not the equipment. However these are necessary steps for advanced alchemists because they determine how much of a disturbance there is during the process.

Nie Lan first took the first herb and refined it into essence and started on the next. She kept changing herbs to essence and storing them into bottles to mix later.

When she finished it you could see there were 10 different bottles and it signaled she was ready to start.

She put some spiritual energy into the formation that she set up in the beginning to heat up the cauldron. Most alchemist in Glory City tend to just let the cauldron randomly heat up, this causes the refining process to fail 3 out of 10 times with 4 parts luck and the remaining 3 are parts of skill.

She used her flame control technique to quell the flame so that it targets specific parts more than others because a cauldron does not distribute heat evenly.

The next part would be to control the essences and refine them before combining them. She surrounded an essence with her spiritual energy and made it float inside the cauldron one at a time. This is only due to her being conservative with her energy because she was still in bronze rank after all.

Throughout the process she controlled the flames to make sure the quick to heat essences are slowed to match with the other essences and finally she made the essences converge.

At first it looked like a bunch of different colors spiraling together but eventually it turned into one uniform color with a strong medicinal scent coming from it.

By condensing the liquid Nie Lan created a pill, it looked relatively easy but she used up the time it took to drink a cup of tea and spent a tenth of her energy just to concoct this single pill. However she was just testing out this body and how her control over it is.

After meditating and comprehending the steps she took during the process she found a few flaws and corrected them before starting all over again.

By the time she exhausted her spiritual energy she had created 100 pills due to her increasing mastery over control during the process. She still felt like it was too slow and inefficient but she left it at that as she was tired and wanted to sell the pills so she got up and went to look for elder si... Alchemist Yang.
