Soul Of The Primordial Remanent

Chapter 37 - Connection

Although Rais intended to assist him, he acted unconvincedly to obtain a thorough understanding of Ishkin. "Why should I help you? How do I apprehend you deceive me not, and why would I d.e.s.i.r.e that much power?"

"Right, why would you d.e.s.i.r.e such immense power when you are dying?" Hearing the offhanded remark, Ishkin became disconcerted.

"Such a cowardice tone, Rais; I overestimated you. Who do you desecrate, stating such, 'why would I d.e.s.i.r.e that much power?' Do you imply that you accept death, or worse, cower away from the reality to live a cowardice path of fixed destiny, ruining your vast prospect and potential, without thinking of confronting? Do you fantasize that escape?"

"From the little I discerned, Rais; you lack the basic perception of the enemies after your family. Forget not the primordial monster seeming as the word spirit and the Devil Tree that placed you within the illusions," Ishkin continued carrying his stern tone.

"Such beings fancy you gone; have you wondered why Rais. Even to me, it's baffling that a young boy faces adversaries that carry a broader reach than the ruthless enemies I confronted. "

"Discover the truth, the self that is you. First, I doubted if you were even mortal as your powers and links seem too unusual. Even when I attained the level of divinity, I befell across merely a few Spirits Kings that unlocked an innate spirit seal. And yet, a few nights earlier, you casually manifested one within the primeval forest. How you, who cultivated spiritual force not a day in your life, possess such a vast soul place?"

"Is he joking; does Ishkin not know that I can deduce his thoughts, or that he is laying such elaborate ill.u.s.tration to deceive me? Whatever, all the same, I will know shortly," Rais wondered while deciding to proceed along without disrupting since he did require some life guidance.

Although Rais wanted to question what the spirit seal manifestation implied, he stayed silent regarding it, after considering that the seal existed in this world; thus, he could inquire Ishkin at any later time without being hindered by the divine law.

"Despite such potential, you hide within the barren land, full of jungle, waiting for the demise while a merciless cursed flame erodes your body and soul."

"What you as a baby had done to anyone to deserve this? Are you not selfish, not considering all the sacrifices made for you? By the selfless faces, you have forgotten?"

"Forget thinking of revenge, what you d.e.s.i.r.e besides that? Have you considered that?"

"Remember, you are still alive, and you can dream the d.e.s.i.r.e."

"As for why you should help me, and how you apprehend I deceive you not?" That's the judgment for you to disclose over time.

While he decimated Rais's offhand remark, Ishkin souls became increasingly translucent, consumed within the eroding shadowy silver aura. After utilizing restorative power of the golden runic ring, he gazed at Rais to notice him remain calm and as if he had expected the unexpected; while his lips arched to offer a dry smile towards Ishkin.

"Forgive my paranoia Ishkin; you received my inquiring too seriously. I didn't expect our conversation to drift to such a place; I merely expected, straightforward responses, that I could rebut with the concern that is bothering me. Although I am glad you did, since I needed that superb consultation; hence allow me to clarify myself."

"You asked what I d.e.s.i.r.ed, other than revenge? What do you require me to say?"

"Destroy the world? You never know."

"Speak not of the whisper of the mind, revel not thou d.e.s.i.r.e. I crave various riches, but I solely agree to share the canvas of nature, I happen upon that journey. The d.e.s.i.r.es, if I tell you, you might seize away the single possession that is mine, the inmost allurement that drives me to my joy. Thus question me not."

"As for revenge, I only fear the weathering brought by the passing of time, not my drive."

"You spoke of my consideration of other's sacrifice; how could I have forgotten? How selfish of me not considering them; when I remember nothing regarding them?"

"Now clear my suspicion, inform me of the f.u.c.kery when you abandon your comrades. Very unlike you to do such, I fail to experience your thought process through that time, leading to my distrust of you."

"I must know why you seemed relieved, even when you were dying with your people; it seemed there was a substantial gap within your memory; you didn't even bother glancing up at the person that pierced you with the spear."

"Although it seemed like I steered my people to the hostile territory, something deep within me conveying me that that was the sole method to preserve them from absolute annihilation. Like you Rais, I also want to know my thought process at that time that steered me to such a conclusion."

"What are you suggesting, you lost those memories?"

"You might not believe me, but I harbor no ill intention towards you, Rais. And yes, I did lose those memories when you were a baby. I had to probe into the outside world, to defend you, thus losing half of the few memories I carried."

"I remember a few details regarding the enemies, do you want to know."

"Thank you, but my mother stated she would inform me once I am ready. You can brief me about how you defended me after I clear something more urgent off my mind. It has been bothering me for the longest time."

"I have waited a very long time to say this."

"Do tell," Ishkin felt the aura change around, Rais.

Rais extended his hand to shake Ishkin's hand, and in the process, he provided his spiritual energy. The atmosphere within the soul place became dimmer, when Rais bestowed Ishkin jade-green spiritual force.

"Do you know of a person who was born with memories in their head?"

"No, it's not possible as divine laws prevent it," Ishkin answered with a calm expression.

"So he doesn't know that I can read his mind; otherwise, he would have said divine laws prevent it. This way, he would be telling the truth without revealing that he knows someone." After reasoning the situation, for the first time, Rais felt relieved; thus, he continued, "don't lie to, Child, did I not tell you to remember," Rais stopped in the middle of his statement.

Ishkin froze from shock, as those words were the last words he was expecting to come out of Rais's mouth.

"Remember that you are not of this world," does this line sound familiar!"

"You shouldn't know those lines, who the f.u.c.k are you? I made sure to retain those memories with me. Those lines are closest to my heart, as I was born with that memory!" Ishkin attempted to grab onto Rais, though the runic chains restrained him.

"So, you are just the man with black wings and no one else! You were the only one who didn't have that particular memory, so it always confused me when I had my visions."
