Return Of A Star

Going inside the auditorium, Li Hua was very happy that she wasn't late for the club meeting. Even though she wasn't able to act in her past life, Li Hua knew some of the actor's codes. One of those being, when an actor has to be somewhere they should arrive early because arriving on time then one is already late. Looking around the room it would appear that Li Hua made the right decision seeing a lot of members standing around and talking. While Li Hua and the other members might still be high schoolers they were all very serious about this career field.

Ye Xun entered with the other officers and was very glad to see most of the members already here for the meeting. Especially the first-years, while she wasn't a strict president and never imposed many rules, she only hoped that they would embrace a great mind-set. Clapping her hand, "Okay everyone, let's start the meeting!" She announced and walked toward the stage while the other members sat down.

Once everyone was settled was when Ye Xun began, "I want to first welcome everyone back and hoped that we all did a great job on our exams. Also, even though we're halfway through the term the drama club has got another member. Everyone, please welcome Li Hua into our little family." She said then motion for Li Hua to stand. Hearing her name, Li Hua stood up with a little pink in her cheeks and gave everyone a smile and formal bow.

The other members smile and gave Li Hua a very warm welcome, and then quieted down so Ye Xun could continue with the meeting. "Now, exams are over and as the saying goes the show must go on, with that in mind it's time for our spring performance. Spring is the time for romance and with that in mind, the officers have chosen a romatic play. This year will be doing a classic princess romance, 'Sleeping Beauty', of course, it will Chengdu's version written by our very own vice-president, Wei Yuya." Ye Xun explained and then the other officers passed out the scripts.

Li Hua looked through the script and found that this modern and rewritten version of 'Sleeping Beauty' was very good. Usually, Li Hua wouldn't care about the lead role but glancing at Li Ling who had a bright smile, she knew exactly what role her cousin would want the most. Li Ling who was sitting far away from Li Hua was so happy inside about the play that was chosen. Unlike Li Hua, she has spent the better half of her first year getting close to the other members of the drama club, especially the officers.

"Auditions will be on Friday, all those who are interested in a role should arrive at 3:30 pm. Each candidate will be given five minutes to show their talent and how they'll project their character. So I wish everyone good luck. For those who don't wish to be on stage, once roles are assigned we'll have a sign-up list for the different crews." Ye Xun explained and then ended the meeting and let the members go home early.

Before leaving, Li Hua walked over to put her name on the audition list, of course going for the lead female role. Li Ling who just put her name on the list with a smile on her face froze when she saw Li Hua walking toward the sign-up table. With a stiff smile, "Elder sister, are you auditioning as well?" She asked.

"That's right! The main reason why I joined the drama club was to perform and to let the audience enjoy a great show. I'm very happy that the first play I could try my hand at in Chengdu is 'Sleeping Beauty', I really found the modern version written by Senior Wei to be very interesting." Li Hua said calmly as she wrote her name on the sign-up sheet.

With a shaky smile, "I'm so happy for you, elder sister. So which role are you going out for?" Li Ling asked trying to look over Li Hua's shoulder. Turning around and blocking her view, Li Hua smiled brightly, "While this might be my first play, all girls wish to be a princess at one point in their lives." Li Hua said.

Hearing Li Hua's words Li Ling froze but still tried to keep calm, "You're going for the lead role, don't you think that's too much for a first-year. Also, today is just your first day don't you think you should take it easy." Li Ling said hoping to change Li Hua's mind.

Grabbing her bag, "Oh, Lingling, sometimes you're very silly. Don't you know that in this type of career field one has to strike earlier if they want to rise to the top? I might just be starting in the drama club but I still have the determination to show everyone my potential as an actress." Li Hua explained and then went to leave.

Watching Li Hua leave, Li Ling gritted her teeth in anger as she thought about what Li Hua said. Since Fu MingYu already knows that Li Hua is a member of the club, she can't get her kicked out without him think badly of her. She already made up her mind to tolerate Li Hua's presence but she will not let her shine over her. Clenching her fist, Li Ling was determined more than ever to get the role of Princess Aurora no matter what it took.
