Xia Zhilan was lazily sitting on her bed, wearing a white nightgown and watching the TV.

Suddenly her phone started ringing - Liu Jianhong was requesting a video call.

Xia Zhilan glanced at the name, hesitating slightly before calmly accepting.

Over the past couple of months, the two seemed to have gotten very close and Liu Jianhong seemed to like her a lot however, the affection meter was still at 0%!

'Zero percent?! He doesn't have a single ounce of goodwill towards me whatsoever?!'

Unlike with Ye Jiangyu, who was the type of make lead that fell in love over the most trivial matters, Xia Zhilan was extra careful with Liu Jianhong as he was a host just like herself.

'I knew it'd be much more difficult but 0%...? Wait... Maybe? No, that can't happen... Are the systems or higher-ups that despicable to..?' Xia Zhilan suddenly started shaking her head softly 'I still have a couple more years left so it doesn't matter yet.'

Xia Zhilan smiled softly at the man displayed on her phone.

"Zhilan, the first episode of «Stars in the Window» just started airing. Are you excited?" Liu Jianhong asked.

"Shouldn't I be the one asking you that? I'm not even in this episode" Xia Zhilan said whilst glancing back her the TV which had their co-worker, the female protagonist, displayed. "I only come in on the 6th episode."

"Haha that's true but still, it's your first project in this country. Oh, look - my first scene."

Xia Zhilan looked up.

The TV displayed Liu Jianhong sitting by the desk next to the window. Despite looking bored and disinterested, his entire being exuded a cold arrogance.

Xia Zhilan's face couldn't help but scrunch up in disgust and roll her eyes. Everything about that scene reminded her of the male lead from her first world, Ye Jiangyu, and many other arrogant and haughty people she was unfortunate enough to have met in her past life.

Liu Jianhong who was carefully studying Xia Zhilan's expression felt his entire self-esteem collapse at the uncontained disgust on her face.

'The f.u.c.k?' Liu Jianhong wore an indescribable expression as he continued to watch her through the face-call.

Liu Jianhong quickly looked up at his own TV 'What's wrong with it? I think I look pretty handsome... Right?'

However, when he looked back at his phone, Xia Zhilan had a slight smile on her face as if nothing had ever happened.

"You look really cool here, Liu Jianhong. Everything about this shot is so beautiful!" Xia Zhilan said sincerely. "I bet your fans are going crazy over this, you look really handsome in this shot."

Liu Jianhong blinked in confusion.

'I swear - am I going crazy? Or did that actually never happen?'

"I only look good here? What about every other time?" he asked with a teasing smile.

Xia Zhilan rolled her eyes "Stop fishing for compliments...."

"C'mon... Answer the question...."

Xia Zhilan looked away shyly "You look handsome all the time, obviously. W-why are you asking me, anyway?" A faint red hue crept up on her face, which seemed to enhance her beauty even more. "If you want to be complimented, just look at the comments.

'I guess that expression earlier was just my imagination...' After that, he quickly brushed the thought away to the back of his mind and watched his screen.

Even he, who had been to multiple worlds, couldn't stop his heart from skipping a beat as he looked at the woman displayed on his phone.

Her soft black hair was tied up into a rough ponytail and a couple of loose hairs perfectly framed her face that was blushing attractively. Her beautiful eyes were looking away in embarrassment as she chewed on her red lips nervously.

Suddenly, Xia Zhilan heard a quiet chime in her head.

'5 percent? Finally! I knew nobody could resist my ch-'

'Wait, what? Why the f.u.c.k did it go back down?'

Liu Jianhong took a quick breath to calm his heart down. 'F.u.c.k, can't believe my heart jumped for my target.'

"Oh yeah, we have a day off tomorrow. Are you busy?" Liu Jianhong asked

"You're inviting me out? Oh wow, this is the first time you asked me out instead!" Xia Zhilan said happily "Also, perfect timing! Director Sheng also gave me a day off for my other project."

"He gave all of you a day off?"

"Nah, just me because I'm his favourite, obviously," Zhilan said with a proud look

"That stingy old man? Well, I guess it's not too surprising, considering your acting skills."

"So where are you taking me tomorrow?" she asked, "And where are we meeting up?"

"It's a surprise," he said slyly "I'll come to pick you up at 11 am, alright?"

"A surprise...? Sounds fun! But it better not be somewhere cliche like the amus.e.m.e.nt park or something..."

"..."

"..."

"Haha..." Jianhong laughed awkwardly "Do you not like the amus.e.m.e.nt park?"

Xia Zhilan laughed

"No no, I love going there. You better be on time tomorrow!"

After saying goodbye, Liu Jianhong asked his system for Xia Zhilan's affection towards him.

"Zero percent? What?!"

'Affection Level: 0% Complete' System 053 repeated.

"Oh my god... Why did I have to be stuck with such a f.u.c.k.i.n.g stupid system?" Liu Jianhong muttered to himself in shock "Why me? Can't even do something so simple... How can it be zero percent? Did you not see how she was acting towards me just then?"

"Shut up." his system said coldly "It's not my fault you can't get this woman to like you."

Liu Jianhong sighed deeply. "Since you can't do your job, I'm gonna assume it's around... Forty percent? Yeah, that sounds about right."

System 053 rolled its eyes.

'Fine, don't believe me then. Do whatever you want...' it thought to itself.
