Pokemon: Ultimate Generations

Chapter 78 - Great Harvest & System Letter!

Gan could only smile when inspecting Dratini, it was a really good steal. Dratini looked around in confusion, it wasn't dumb by any means. What really got Gan was the size of this thing, it was actually quite big!

Gan understood the danger, what if he summoned an overwhelming large Pokemon?

Dratini turned to Gan before it began to levitate off the ground. Gan quickly recalled Dratini, its talent was too high so it may cause a lot of damage. It didn't show or exude any hostility toward him or Kadabra, which was good.

"My main team is nearing completion!" Gan's League team was nearly done with the presence of Dratini.

His main team would be Machamp, Arcanine, Alakazam, Rhydon, maybe Rhyperior if he could get a Protector, Blastoise, Dragonite, Snorlax, or a Jolteon.

Gan could switch it up among these Pokemon for situational purposes. However, Jolteon would be the best choice for an electric type, or in general, for his team.

"Jolteon is the best, it could hit decently hard and most importantly, it's fast!" It was a high-tier Pokemon when it came to speed. Jolteon was the perfect counter against Misty and even the famed Elite 4 member Lorelei.

"Hehe, I gotta get myself an Eevee later, who knows, I might find one among these Pokeballs." Gan rubbed his hands together in excitement. Kadabra just watched from the side—seemingly understanding Gan's objective.

"Okay, onto the next one." Gan grabbed another Pokeball and looked at it with a grin before tossing it.

"Oh, great." Gan frowned.

"Psy~!" It was a Psyduck.

Gan saw that it had a 4-star talent, which was really good but he could care less about these species of Pokemon.

Gan recalled it and started summoning more Pokemon 1 to 2 at a time.

What appeared after was.

~ 4-star Swinub, 4-star Tyrogue, 3-star Staryu, 4-star Ponyta, 4-star Mankey, 4 Magnamite, 3-star Geodude, 3-star Sentret, 3-star Tentacool, 4-star Vulpix, 3-star Pikachu, 5-star Ekans, 4-star Teddiursa, 4-star Electrode, 4-star Miltank, 4-Tauros, 3-star Mr. Mime, 4-star Squirtle, 5-star Magby, 3-star Persian, 3-star Ledyba, 4-star Eevee, 4-star Eevee, 4-star Natu, 3-star Marill, 4-star Mareep, 3-star Farfetch'd, 3-star Slugma, and a 3-star Drowzee.

Some of these Pokemon were simply too dangerous to keep out for a certain period of time. Some of them even displayed hostility towards Gan upon being summoned.

In the midst of summoning these Pokemon, Gan heard a notification go off. Gan check and saw that he had completed a mission he never even knew about.

===

[Mission Unlocked!] .

Mission Name: Halfway There! (Completed!)

Mission Objective: Acquire 75 different species or more Pokemon from the Kanto region.

Mission Rewards| (Hidden Mission)

⋆ Ability Patch (x2)

⋆ TM-Fire Punch

===

"What?" Gan was stunned when he saw the mission. Apparently, this was a hidden mission rewarding him for catching half the Pokemon within the Kanto Pokedex.

"An Ability Patch, these items are going to be very useful. I know exactly who to use one for!" Gan had two of them he could use. This item could give the Pokemon in question their hidden ability; something he wanted some of his Pokemon to have.

"Hmm... System Letter?" Gan drew the letter from the system, it was a pitch-black envelope. On it, he could see the standard letter format written in white ink.

Who it was from, where it came from and who it was being sent to but there was no return address, obviously.

==

Sender: Pokemon System

To: Gan Arson

Address: Kanto, Viridian City, Roseworth Residence 15XXXXX

==

"..." Gan was speechless as he stared at the format.

Where was this Beyond Realm? However, he quickly remembered that it was probably in the location of the mysterious entity that send him here, it had to be.

Gan opened the letter and saw a red sheet of paper that was folded twice. At the top, it was titled Trainer tips and things you may not know.

Gan sat on the couch and read the whole letter, which made sense to him. But was this the only thing the system wanted to tell him? It never spoke or helped him and usually resorted to just giving him missions.

At that moment, a sharp image came from the paper and stabbed into Gan's head!

"Arg!" Gan tossed the paper out of his hand and held his head in pain. New information about everything that wasn't stated on the paper began to flood his mind.

Kadabra was confused about what was going on, it didn't see any images nor did he see any letters on the paper and envelope. Why was his master experiencing a sudden headache, was there poison in the letter?!

Kadabra levitated Gan off and above the couch, all the while trying to soothe Gan's headache. However, a powerful force from the letter pushed Kadabra away—sending him flying back in shock.

Kadabra wasn't hurt, so he quickly got ahold of himself to prevent himself from hitting a wall. He floated a stared at Gan, who was still floating in the air despite its power being nullified, what was going on?

After gritting his teeth through the pain, Gan slowly descend back onto the couch. The pain was now over, he stood up drenched in a cold sweat.

The information relayed to him was about the new things affiliated with Pokemon. Gan also found out from the letter that each star for a Pokemon's potential represented an Iv stat that was maxed out.

"All of this is vital information worth knowing, there seems to be another region I didn't know about after Galar that I'll have to explore." Gan's eyes flashed with excitement and anticipation.

Gan looked around and saw Kadabra looking at him with a mix of concern and confusion.

"I'm okay, it was a special letter that tempers the mind, so it was painful." Gan brushed it off and gave an excuse.

"Things like that exist?" Kadabra was a bit stunned, he was still technically a child so this revelation stunned it a bit.

"Yeah, but they're rare. Thanks for the help, now, come to me and I'll give you a reward that will benefit you and me." Gan was wiping his sweaty face and ċhėst with a rag—all the while saying this.

Kadabra didn't hesitate and levitated over. Gan pulled out the Ability Patch and used it on Kadabra in order to change its ability to its hidden one.

Kadabra's body flashed with a mixture of green, black, and light green light. It only lasted for 10 seconds before it stopped.

Gan checked Kadabra's status and saw that it had its newfound ability.

Magic Guard!

As for the TM-Fire Punch, he kept it stored for a later date. He might give it to Machoke later down line, but Gan didn't think it would need it. Afterward, Gan recalled Kadabra back and started thinking about the Pokemon he recently summoned.

The only 5-stars he had gotten was an Ekans, Dratini, and Magby, while the rest were 3 to 4 star Pokemon. One may look at Gan's harvest and think 4-star Pokemon looked to be common, but that wasn't the case at all—this was Prof. Oak Lab he robbed here, so he had nothing but the best of the best.

They were all Pokemon from the Kanto and Johto region, which didn't surprise Gan at all. Both of these regions seemed to go hand and hand, as they were right next door from one another.

This was further proven by the games.

Gan was a little saddened that there was no Snorlax among the Pokemon, but it was okay. He had seen one up for auction, so he would wait until that time came.

"Alright." Taking a deep breath, he grabbed a specific Pokeball from his storage. Gan also summoned Growlithe, who cozied herself up comfortably on the couch.

Gan evaluated it once more. Its nature was conveniently just right for him, which is something that never happens for Gan. Just about all of his Pokemon needed a nature change, including Growlithe and Kadabra.

===

|Name: Eevee

|Type: Normal

|Level: 25

|Gender: Female

|Ability: Adaptability

|Potential: ★★★★

|Nature: Timid

|Moves: Covet| Helping Hand| Tackle| Sand Attack| Growl| Tail Whip| Quick Attack| Baby-Doll Eyes| Wish[S]| Detect[E]|

"Hey, buddy. I'm going to evolve you into something amazing, and then we'll train together. What do you think, little girl?" Gan smiled gently towards Eevee, who was gazing curiously at Growlithe. They seem to be staring at one another as if they had silently agreed to some staring contest.

"Evo~!" Eevee turned to Gan nodded seriously.

"Well, let's make it happen." Gan checked his storage, he was sure he purchased a Thunder Stone.

'Crap!' Unfortunately, Gan didn't have a Thunder Stone, he only had a Fire Stone, Dusk Stone, and a couple of Moon Stones.

The Fire Stone was for Growlithe, he had bought this from the Department store back in Celedon City. Gan was broke at that time, so he couldn't afford to buy any other type of stones.

Eevee leaped onto the couch on the opposite side of Gan from Growlithe position. It appeared it be waiting to be evolved because of what Gan had said.

"I don't have it on me right now, I'll have to look around or something." Gan smiled bitterly. He must have mistaken the Fire Stone for a Thunder Stone or had he just forgotten to buy one—the latter was likely.

"Evoy~!" Eevee nodded, it wasn't bothered by this at all.

"How about you two play or something, I'll go check something out." Gan stood up and turned towards the two and told them both to play nice.

After which, he went into a room that so happened to be his sleeping quarters. The room was large and spacious, Gan even believed fitting an Onix in here wouldn't be a problem—at least if it wasn't sitting straight up.

"Let's see..." Gan pulled out a few items that Haunter had stolen. One of which, was important to Gan for his long journey ahead. He also checked out a few other items that she grabbed on her way out.

===

[Assault Vest: Raises Special Defense but prevents the use of status moves.]

[Flame Orb: An item to be held by a Pokémon. It is a bizarre orb that inflicts a burn on the holder in battle.]

[Razor Claw: Increases critical-hit ratio. Evolves Sneasel when held at night.]

[Magnet: Increases the power of Electric-type moves.]

[Dragon Fang: Increases the power of Dragon-type moves.]

===

"Nice! These will be of great use to me later." Gan only inspected them happily before storing them again.

"I need to take a shower, then head out and see if this family can sell me a Thunder Stone or something.." After what he had been through last night—a shower or bath sounded amazing right about now.
