Chapter 36 - Improved Aura Training

The next day.

Blake and her pokemons were in a desolate part of the sect's forest. They got there for a special reason.

Blake was sitting cross-legged into the ground, her eyes were covered with a white cloth and she couldn't see anything. She was wearing casual clothes she bought in the city before entering the sect.

Riolu was about 33 feet(10 meters) away from her, he had a solemn gaze as he stared at her and clenched his fist. Honedge was beside them watching everything like a silent ghost.

Blake waited for a while, and after not feeling anything hitting her, she sighed. She took out her blindfold and seriously looked at Riolu.

"Riolu, we already had this conversation before. This is for my own good, you don't need to hold back like that. Don't you turn your head away from me! Riolu!" Blake sighed again and slightly shook her head.

Riolu was visibly against what Blake wanted to do, and unlike last time where he got convinced after a single talk, she had to spend minutes in a deep conversation with him for get him to agree to this. After Riolu reluctantly nodded, Blake put her blindfold again.

He clenched his fist even harder, and his eyes almost closed as he punched the air. The air around his fist distorted and a wave of vacuum was shot at Blake.

"OUCH!" Blake cried out loud as the impact hit her shoulder, she was incapable of dodging it with Aura. Riolu immediately stopped and wanted to go closer to Blake in worry.

"Riolu, don't come here! Do it again!" Blake felt him coming closer with Aura and said with clenched teeth. Riolu's Vacuum Wave hurt, and even though he was definitely holding back on it's speed and power, there was a limit on how much he could hold back.

Riolu hesitated for a long time before nodding going back where he started. He had a dejected expression as he punched the air again. Honedge who usually didn't care about anything was looking away, he didn't seem to like seeing his master get harmed.

"ARGH!" Blake suppressed her shout as the Vacuum Wave hit her, she felt a impact akin of a strong punch hitting her other shoulder, she looked hurt. Even in this state she decisively shouted.

"Again!"

Riolu kept sending Vacuum Waves one after another, Riolu avoided hitting her face and hitting the same spot two times at all costs, but Blake still looked very haggard and hurt. Blake removed her blindfold and tremblingly reached for a Potion. All her wounds recovered, without her messy clothes still remaining the same, one would even think it was all a illusion.

"Riolu, let's do it again." Riolu looked like he was about to cry.

What Blake is doing is Aura training. She felt like throwing rocks wasn't enough anymore as they were easy to dodge, and Riolu subconsciously held back every time. So, she had this m.a.s.o.c.h.i.s.tic idea of training, dodging Vacuum Waves. They were way faster than rocks thrown by Riolu could ever be, and while Riolu was holding back, their speed was still not a joking matter. The force of the impact was also a plus to her as it motivated her body to dodge it on instinct.

First training for hours, and now this, Blake doesn't know where all that determination came from... No, actually, she knew. It was all a result of unstable Qi. Her insane affinity with fire made the normally slow changes immediate, which made her impulsive, stubborn, hot headed and determined. And Blake reaction for all of this was.... She actually welcomed it.

She knew that this was being selfish and imm.a.t.u.r.e. This could even be considered a illness, it was like someone getting ill on purpose because the side effects made their eye color cool. Even then, she still didn't do anything to stop this and let her Qi became even more unstable. Why?

Because she wanted to feel determined and brave. She did not want to go back to being the failure she was on Earth. Blake always had a slight inferiority complex, and while this somewhat changed since she came to this world and journeyed with Riolu, it still remained. Blake honestly felt like that if Riolu wasn't here, she would turned into a piece of shit that didn't care about people.

She wanted to change, and this unstable Qi was what she thought as a good solution. She didn't tell anyone about this, and silently accepted the changes her personality suffered because of unstable Qi. She knew how immensely selfish this behavior was. She slightly smiled while being hit by another vacuum wave.

Their training didn't stop as Blake tried to dodge Riolu's Vacuum Waves, she took potion every time she was too hurt to continue and Riolu took an Ether or rested every time his energy ran out.

If she wasn't blindfolded, Riolu and Honedge would've noticed the illusion of flames forming on her scarlet eyes...
