Pokemon In Cultivation World

Chapter 35 - Intense Training

Blake could barely wait once she thought of it, and as soon as she got out of the bath and put on some clothes, she got Riolu out of the pokeball.

"Riolu!"

"Riolu, we need to talk."

Blake then explained that a tournament would happen in a week, and how she wanted him to teach her about martial arts and Aura. Mainly Aura. Riolu nodded.

They then began their training, Riolu got into a fighting stance and punched the air. Some wind blew as his punch ended, showing it was a pretty powerful punch. Blake recognized his stance and was surprised.

"Isn't that boxing? You want to teach me that?" Riolu nodded.

He pointed at her then at his fists and did some other weird hand gestures and transmitted his intentions with Aura. Blake nodded as she understood.

"You mean my punches are stronger than my kicks?" Riolu nodded again.

Blake hit her fist on her open palm as she finally got what he meant. Blake had been using her fists or a sword the whole time, she barely kicked her enemies. She is more familiar with punching, and Riolu wants to work on that.

Training her kicks might have been a better option since it would cover her weaknesses, but they have only a week and that would give no benefits in the short term. It was a similar situation as someone in a RPG dumping all their stats points on AGI or STR or any other stat, before facing a certain boss. Instead of distributing it between all their stats and having just a slight boost, it's better to focus on their highest stat to overcome that boss.

If Riolu trained Blake in kicking, with only a week remaining, she should barely learn how to throw a proper kick, and that would make no difference in the tournament. It was better to work on her punches and make it a reliable way to beat her opponents in case she lost her sword.

Blake then began imitating Riolu. They first began by training her footwork, then he taught her how to do jabs, followed by crosses and how to use her body weight to make the impact more powerful, by rotating the torso and the h.i.p.s counter-clockwise.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and Blake barely learned how to do these. Learning them doesn't mean she could effectively use it though.

"HA!" Shouted Blake as she punched the air. She was wearing the clothes she had since coming to this world. Jeans with a red belt and a black shirt with a red flame sign on it, it barely covered her c.h.e.s.t and left her whole abdomen uncovered.

She was sweating hard as she kept on practicing, every time she got tired she would either rest a little or drink a Potion. Potions recovered stamina so she could keep on training, but it was like burning money to keep warm on the winter so Blake was only using it because she only had a week.

Blake also didn't notice that this way of training had another benefit. If a person exercises, they stress their muscles and the muscle fibers break down. As the fibers repair themselves, they become larger and stronger than they were before. By drinking a potion, this process was immediate!

Blake could train for a very long time as she used her Qi to last longer, pushing her muscles to the limit before stopping. Then she drinks a potion and her fibers are immediately repaired, then she pushes the new stronger muscle fibers to the limit and does it again!

This method wasn't impossible to do in this world, but it was normally used with a healing technique of a cultivator with a water Qi nature or the like. Repeatedly taking medicine to repair the body to keep training was expensive even for the rich.

Blake's potions were also more or less a miracle medicine, low-ranking pills couldn't compare with even a normal Potion. These pills took time to heal someone while the potions effect were immediate, and it also healed less.

If people knew she was wasting miracle medicines like this to slightly train her body, all the poor cultivators of the world would put their differences aside and collectively beat the living shit out of her. Even the rich would be revolted, it was like buying multiple Ferraris for the tires and tossing everything else in the trash!

Ignorance is a bliss, and Blake kept training while only feeling some slight pain from the pokedollars she would lose. Hours passed as she didn't stop, normally she would have given up this kind training long ago as it was boring and she suffered from the same lack of focus young people have, or else she wouldn't be such a failure back on Earth.

In the end she didn't think much of this as she kept focused on training, not noticing minuscule amounts of flame shaped Qi coming out of her body...

In the end she trained until it was time to sleep. She collapsed on her bed from the mental fatigue, snoring loudly and with a body full of sweat. She didn't even bother changing clothes or taking a bath, with the way she was sleeping, maybe even tossing water on her would not wake her up...

Riolu who was meditating opened his eyes and glanced at her, he slightly smiled and shook his head before going back to meditation. Honedge only slightly glanced over, staying in the same shadowy corner of the cave as usual.
