Pokemon In Cultivation World

Chapter 17 - Cultivation Technique

'Hidden Mission? So I would get all the money back after killing the bear and get a second pokemon as well?' After going through all this trouble for nothing, Blake felt like he could use the move Frustration.

Blake accepted the reward, and his pokedollars rose from 60 to 10,060. There was also a virtual screen asking if he wanted to select his second pokemon now with [Yes] and [No] in it.

Blake decided to do it later, since he had something to deal with now. There were still two people and a bear corpse for him to deal with.

The two disciples were obviously watching Blake use pokeballs to try and catch the bear, Xun Yu was confused, but Fang Qing had a knowing expression on his face.

He thought it was something normal for Monster Tamers, since he had already seen one of those let out a monster of a tiny bottle. It was probably a spirit artifact or something like that, though he had never seen one in the shape of a ball.

"May I know your name, benefactor?" Asked Fang Qi as cupped his fists.

"I'm Blake, nice to meet you." Blake answered normally. Both disciples thought the name was somewhat weird, but they didn't care. They didn't notice how Blake was a masculine name since they didn't know english.

After staying in this world for such a long time, Blake obviously noticed the people here aren't speaking english, but chinese or some sort of similar language. Even then, Blake who never learned chinese could magically understand every word they said and read it without problems too.

It was like his brain automatically told him the meaning of every word, even when he was speaking with other people, he also automatically speaks it in the language here. He still could speak and write in english though, but the people here won't understand it so the last time he spoke english was long ago.

"Why were you trying to kill this bear?" Blake was genuinely curious.

"I need it's core to make a spirit artifact. I thought it was weaker than this, and Junior Brother Xun followed me to help." Fang Qing had a guilty expression when he talked about Xun Yu.

"Senior Brother, this isn't you fault. I came here with my own will, no need to feel guilty about this." Xun Yu noticed his guilty face.

"If you want the core of the bear, we won't complain." Said Fang Qing. They had gone through all of this for that core, but he was still willing to give to it to Blake just like that.

Blake shook his head.

"I have no need for that core, you guys can have it." He wasn't lying, he didn't need anything like a spirit beast core, and even if he wanted to sell it, he was sure very few places in this city bought something like that.

Fang Qing had a touched expression hearing Blake, and he took out a ring he was wearing on his finger. He clenched his hand, nodded to himself and threw it to Blake, who was surprised. A jade tablet materialized in his hands out of thin air as well.

"Sister Blake, I noticed you haven't started to cultivate yet. Here is our sect cultivation technique, and inside that space ring are supplies for your cultivation. Treat this as a gift for saving our lives." He handed the jade tablet to Blake.

"Wait, a cultivation technique? Won't you get into trouble by giving me this?" It was now Blake turn to be touched. He even ignored the "Sister Blake" part.

A cultivation technique worth is no joke, you have to know this can turn a ordinary person in a cultivator. Blake got to know he was in a cultivator world since he overheard people talking about a annual sect recruitment, and in the months he stayed here, he knows how only few people could become cultivators.

Sects charged a total of 10 Spirit Stones as entrance fee, that wasn't a big deal for cultivators, but you needed to know that was a impossible amount for ordinary people.

The monetary system worked more or less like this, 100 coppers coins were worth a silver coin, ten silver coins were worth a gold coin, and ten gold coins were worth a Spirit Stone.

A single gold coin could feed a family of four if they bought the cheapest food available for a year. Ten Spirit Stones were enough to feed a ordinary family of four for a hundred years!

That's why Blake couldn't sympathize with these xianxia novels protagonists, since at least 90% of them came from a wealthy clan in their city and had access to cultivation techniques.

Even if they were the most bullied person in their clan, their fate was easily better than ordinary people who could only earn enough to feed themselves. Poor people relied on wealth from generations of storing money to become cultivators, they used money their family were storing since their great grandfather era.

And even then, a sect charged 10 Spirit Stones for only to participate on the entrance test, if they failed it, three whole generations of wealth would be gone just like that.

If Blake wanted to get a cultivation technique, he would either need to spend some years of earning money, or be immensely lucky and find one in the bottom of a cliff. But here was this guy, giving Blake one just like that.

There was no way in hell sects let disciples teach others their cultivation techniques so easily like this.

"No amount of trouble can compare can compare to saving our lives." Fang Qing smiled.

Blake smiled as well, he was truly thankful to these guys. He put his hands into his bag, and gave two super potions and a hyper potion to both. He also gave them a smoke ball.

"If you meet danger, throw that on the ground and run. You will become invisible for a small amount of seconds." Blake explained how to use it. Fang Qing nodded.

"I'll be going then. I'm somewhat busy and all, see you later! Let's go Riolu!" Blake began to walk back to his inn.

"Riolu!"

"Wait, Sister Blake. Do you want to join our sect?" Fang Qing suddenly asked.

"Join your sect...?" Blake thought about it for a second, it didn't sound like a bad deal but he was a little hesitant.

"Can I give you the answer later?" Asked Blake.

"Yes, our Scarlet Flame sect will have a annual recruitment five days later, in the city near here. I will wait there in case you want to join it."

"Hmm, okay then. I will go there if I want to join it." Blake nodded.

"So, goodbye." Blake waved his hands as he walked back to his "home".

"Farewell Sister Blake." Both Fang Qing and Xun Yu said at the same as they cupped their fists.

Blake and Riolu headed back to the cheap inn, Blake was going to select his second pokemon and maybe start to cultivate there.

=====================================================

As Blake and Riolu left, only the two disciples remained, Fang Qing was searching for the core on the bear.

"Senior Brother, I'm not really against it, but why you gave her the whole space ring and the cultivation technique?" Xun Yu was curious about this.

Fang Qi slightly smiled as he ripped the bear skin apart, after it died, it's fur became way less tough, even a ordinary blade was able to pierce it.

"It's simple, that person had the option to simply sit there and watch we get killed, but she choose to help up us without any sort of benefit involved." Said Fang Qi in response.

Xun Yu suddenly understood what his Senior Brother meant, if that sister just hided in the side and waited for the bear to kill them, she could have easily gotten everything in their possession.

That bear didn't kill for food after all, it was a sadistic beast and it would just leave their corpses there in the ground after "playing" enough with them. That sister choose to help them even though she would get less benefits that way.

Xun Yu sighed.

"For how long had we not seen someone that kind...?" Their fellow cultivators weren't kind people, the majority were constantly searching for benefits in everything and only cared about getting stronger. Their family, love, everything else was secondary.

The only person Xun Yu ever trusted since becoming a cultivator is his Senior Brother, which he knew since before they became cultivators.

Even Xun Yu himself felt like it was a waste to give someone so much, even though that person literally saved their lives and used so much rare medicines on them. He suddenly felt ashamed. He was thinking the exact same way his fellow "brothers" he felt disgusted by did.

Fang Qing laughed seeing his Junior Brother ashamed expression.

"I just wonder how I am going to explain this to master...." Teaching a outsider the sect cultivation technique was strictly forbidden. He wasn't going to be killed or crippled since he wasn't a ordinary disciple, but he could get expelled.

That's why he wanted to get Blake into his sect, well, it was the main reason at least. If Blake entered the sect, it wouldn't be teaching a outsider anymore and his punishment will be light considering his master.

"Senior Brother..." Xun Yu clenched his fist. He mentally decided that if Blake does not appear on the sect recruitment, he will take the blame himself instead of his brother.

Even if he didn't want him to do it, his senior brother master and the elders would gladly make him take the blame instead of a precious disciple like Fang Qing, even if the truth was revealed.
