Chapter 35 - 35 Storm Hammer

Waking up, I groggily look around confused where I am.

As I shake the cobwebs from my head, I realize that this is the original Valoris's old room. Someone must have brought me back.

Getting up I hiss in pain, it seems my wounds are still healing. I look around the room curious about the stuff the original Valoris left behind.

He had a couple low tier treasures I saw last time I was in here that I am interested in. One of them is a branch like the one I have but only has the lightning element. The other is a piece of metal, it has a golden flicker to it that interests me.

Setting it aside, for now, I continue to explore the room. In the corner, I find a roughly carved statue. looking closer it seems to be a storm dragon king wrestling with a fire Phoenix on the air.

Remembering my dream I had when I purified my bloodline, I recall the dragon I was in that dream fought with a phoenix in that dream as well.

Interested, I decided to ask Vanor about who this is. Looking around more, I find a large book, written on the cover in Draconic is the name Valoris Taleos Stormfury. Clearly the originals diary, I open it curious about what he wrote, though I also feel a little guilty for snooping.

On the front page is written

"This is the record of the life of Valoris Taleos Stormfury The Ferocious, second son of Vanor Taleos Stormfury. I was unfortunate enough to be born with a diluted bloodline that made me be born a wyvern and low talent in elemental mastery.

For a long time, I wallowed in depression. Convinced that I would be a weakling. Then one day, my father told me a story about an ancestor of ours.

His name was Talen Taleos Stormfury, born to a line that had never produced any strong dragons. He was born a wyrm with the inability to manipulate the elements.

Like me, he was mocked and taunted constantly. But unlike me, he did something about it. Deciding that if he couldn't use the elements he would focus on his body.

Just by using body refinement, he had managed to evolve all the way up to the dragon king. Fighting countless adversaries, his body was so strong he had gained the moniker "Storm Hammer" due to him beating his opponents to death with his body.

Hearing this story, Filled me with admiration, and ambition. If he who was born even weaker then I could reach that level of strength, then there was no reason I couldn't as well.

Following "Storm Hammer's" lead I would focus on refining my body!

Curious I asked my father what happened to him. All he said was he fell due to an ancient family rivalry"

"Interesting, I'm gonna ask Rentil to show me the stories about the history of the clan," I think before moving on.

"You are finally up, come on grandpa wants to see you"

Turning around I see Rentil just outside the room.

"Okay, Hey have you ever heard of Storm Hammer?" I ask.

She looks at me weirdly before saying.

"Oh yeah? dude is the father of the current Alpha of the clan. He destroyed an entire phoenix clan by himself when they killed his wife"

"What's with the hate between storm dragons and phoenixes?" I ask

"That's an old story, grandpa could tell it to you better then I can. Suffice to say, it's an ancient feud"

Walking with her, I can't help but ask the question that was burning in my mind since I woke up.

"Hey...with that last attack of mine, was I able to injure you?"

"...nope, sorry but you barely left a scratch," she says before speeding up.

Disappointed with myself, I follow her. Reinforcing my drive to get stronger I tell myself that next time she and I spar I will wound her!

We arrive at Vanor's room, going in I see Vanor looking over a large map. Looking up, he seems to measure me. Almost as if he is calculating something. Looking at his expressions he seems to come to a decision before talking.

"You did well, much better then I thought you would honestly. However, you still are way behind your peers of the clan. There will be a lot of hard work ahead of you. Work that will threaten to crush you, break you, challenge you in ways you didn't think possible to get as strong as you aspire to be.

Are you prepared to take that on? Once you say yes I'm not going to let you stop. If you decide to complete my son's dream, you will see it through or die in the attempt. Even if I have to kill you myself. So this is your only chance to say no. If you do, you will change your name, go back to your tribe, and never come back."

As I listen to Vanor, I start to relax. All this time I was concerned about how much care Vanor had given me, I was worried about how he was going to cash in on all the favor he had given me.

Listening to his conditions, I was relieved as they went along with my own goals. And having someone to push me would help immensely. My plan had always been to reach the top! my trip here had helped immensely in my pursuit of ultimate strength.

"I agree with you, my plan is the same as yours. I plan to reach the peak no matter how much work I need to do"

"Good, first step is to teach you our history. The Stormfury clan is ancient with a long history. Rivalry, and alliances with other clans. We have descended gods, as such, there are also several powerful ancestors who you should know about as well.

First thing though, we have to introduce you to the clan"
