Our Hearts Beat For Anne

Chapter 11 - Good-day-ish

"So what are we making?" Vincent asked resting his elbows on the small island.

"Pasta and fried eggs."

"Nice," he said with an excited look. "What should I be doing?"

"You can start by bringing out the frying pan and spatula while I put the pasta on the stove."

" yes ma'am," he said which got me smiling.

He turned and brought out the pan from one of the shelves and then stopped, turning to me, he had a confused look and slowly scratched the back of his head.

"What wrong?" I said mirroring his confusion.

"Em... the thing is, I know a spatula is used for frying and stuffs like that but I have no idea what it looks like."

This got me reeling with laughter. He looked so cute with that confused expression.

I have always seen him as someone who had everything under control but right now, he was adorable in his confused state.

"Hey, what so funny Anny?" I heard Andrew ask walking into the kitchen. This caused me to laugh the more.

He stared at me like I was crazy and then at his brother.

"Apparently, she found my lack of knowledge on kitchen utensils hilarious." Vincent explained.

Andrew doubled over with laughter.

"Great, so am basically a clown." Vincent stated feigning annoyance.

"And here we all thought you were going to ace cooking."

I couldn't stop the laughter even as I tried.Vincent's face was priceless.

"Yea yea, laugh all you want, I'll get the hang of it in the nearest future." Vincent said and went ahead to get the eggs from the refrigerator.

"Now I want to help," Andrew w.h.i.n.ed coming to look over my shoulders.

"How may I help?" He whispered into my ear which gave me tingles.

"You can chop the onions and carrots while Vincent beat the eggs. And I will make the sauce."

We worked together, talking, bantering and laughing at jokes Andrew made. It was a miracle we didn't burn the food.

Andrew kept on whining and complaining on how the onions were making him cry and then complain that Vincent wasn't beating the eggs right.

Vincent on his side dropped an egg and blamed Andrew for distracting him going ahead to say that Andrew was making an onion and carrot mash.

I was aching to have them out of kitchen so as to stop messing the place up but then again, they made it fun and enjoying with their clumsiness and constant banter.

Thirty minutes later, we were done cooking , which we would have finished in fifteen minutes if they had done their part well.

I dished out the food in our seperate plates and Andrew and I carried ours to the living room while Vincent opted to eat in his study which was saddening because I'd really wanted us to continue our bickering and banter but guess he was really a bookworm.

Around seven o'clock and after two movies later, I stood up ready to go.

Andrew pulled me back on the couch, holding my hand hostage.

"Anny, stay longer, pretty please," he said eith a pouty face, rubbing his eyes to remove the sleep.

Yea he slept through half of the second movie.

"Gotta go Drew, I've got to wake up early."

"Ok, but I will be coming to pick you tomorrow."

"Uh..."

"And no arguments, I don't wanna see you lonely in that godforsaken hostel. And besides, your food was yum, I wanna have it again." He finished with a cute smile.

"And you call me a whinie baby." I said rolling my eyes.

"You taught me well," he said laughing and I smacked him.

"Vincent! Anny's leaving!" Andrew screamed at the top of his lungs which got me to flinch and cover my ears.

In less than a minute, Vincent walked down the steps, came up and stood in front of me, looking straight at me without saying a word.

Hellooo

"Who taught you how to cook so well?"

"Uh...my mum?" heat rose to my cheeks.

"Aww, now your making her blush,"

I turned to smack Andrew but he escaped.

"It was delicious."

"Thank you both, I had a great time."

"We should be thanking you, we had a splendid time with you." Vincent said in a low deep voice.

Just wow

"Ok ok, lets go," that was Andrew, taking my hand and leading me to the door."

As we were about to leave, Vincent called out.

"And Anne.." I turned, "no drinking," he said with a smirk.

Whatttt...he knew

I must have turned every shade of red because Andrew burst out laughing beside me and ran through the door when I turned to face him.

"Bye!" I squeaked and ran after Andrew.

"Hey! you've gotta tell me everything that happened that night or else I won't talk to you ever." I threatened fuming with embarrassment.

"Alright alright, just calm down, when we get to your hostel. Hop on."

Andrew's pov

Her arms were wrapped around me in a death grip as we sped to her hostel. I didn't want to stop driving and let her let go.

I had been thinking all this while that what I felt for her was mere attraction and a huge respect but lately, I can't stop myself from thinking about her or wanting to be with her.

My interest in other girls was dwindling quite rapidly and I can't decipher anything.

Like today, I was supposed to spend time with Mindy, one of my girls but I felt like it was a waste of my time.

We arrived infront of her hostel and I turned to see her take deep breaths behind me.

"Thrilling!" She exclaimed and came down. I followed suit and parked my bike.

"So we are here, I can go now," I said pretending to leave, she quickly grabbed my arm and dragged me towards the garden beside her hostel were a few couples were sitting in various wooden sits.

I relished in the feel of her hands as she tried to get me to sit down while I playfully refused to sit.

"Andrew please sit down," she w.h.i.n.ed.

I gave in and sat down and she sat down beside me.

"Now spill."

I started telling her what went down the night she got drunk.

Her facial expression went from shock to disbelief and then to surprise then back to shock.

"Atleast you surpassed a lot of dancers there that night with moves that are out of this world," I gestured with my hand.

She covered her face with her hands and sighed into them.

"I can't believe I did all those stuffs you said." She said solemnly.

"Hey, come on, don't be like this," I said taking her hands in mine and looking into her eyes.

They are so beautiful

My eyes travelled down to her soft pink lips and my groin tightened.

I wanted to kiss her so badly it hurts but I also don't want to scare her away.

"Don't feel bad Anny. Besides, I think you rocked that day." I said with a smile.

She looked at me under her lashes and I gritted my teeth beneath my lips to stop me from taking her lips there and then.

She inhaled and exhaled sharply.

"I'll live Drew, no harm done."

She stood up and stretched her limbs.

"Its getting late Drew, come on."

I looked at my wristwatch.

Wow! Its already half past nine. Like they say , when your with a loved one, time rushes by.

"Ok, we'll see tomorrow."

She accompanied me to my bike.

"No goodbye kiss?" I asked teasingly.

I stared in disbelieve as she stood on her toes and gave me a peck on the cheek.

"I had a nice time with you guys," she said with a smile.

That'll have to do for now

"Bye Anny."

"Bye weirdo."

I laughed, climbed my bike and drove off.

I'll definitely sleep like a baby this night.
