One More Step

Chapter 63 - 63.Helping people deserves present

''Kyra? You are here?'' Healer Ling's expression was priceless, as after Kyra's whole row of people appeared. ''Who are they? What is going on?''

Kyra chuckled at her questions. ''Healer Ling, do you trust me?'' Her question meant many things so healer Ling became serious again.

''Definitely.'' Her straight answer please Elder Kei that slowly came forward and smiled at her.

''Please care about our Kyra good. Our government is interested in her growth. Except for Kyra we will give you hand as well. These young people know simple medical treatments so they can be used as helpers. Kyra can help by your side. We have carriages filled with healing herbs and potions. Let's hope this epidemy doesn't spread further away.'' He then bowed slightly and turned his face towards Kyra.

''Be safe. I will leave Ao Theo with you. Kids will follow your orders. If you need something and we can provide we will send you as soon you send a notice. Ok?'' He patted her head one more time and went back to his carriage. There was Anna that looked at Kyra longingly.

Kyra just winked at her with a big smile. Anna knew that motion. Hold on, we can do it. Her hand suddenly rose almost on its own and she waved her hand towards her.

Kyra waved back and as soon their carriage entered the city gate she turned around and started helping out.

But strange things started happening around her. She would be given strange water to drink, or suddenly cl.i.c.k.i.n.g sounds could b heard as she once bowed to help one of the patients. Food would come ins strange colors making her become quite angry and order completely new food for everyone as she feared that people might eat dirty stuff.

Healer Ling just quietly gave people tinctures and potions while thinking that sick people needed someone like Kyra as well. She would run form one to the other person, check their health, conditions, food, water, anything and everything. She even made a chart for the sick people with the daily intake of food, water, tea, tinctures and potions.

Like that they knew who they gave what and at what time...

Actually, after Kyra and her crew came everything became even more orderly. Healer Ling could only sigh at her own people's incompetence making her own family members getting bit angry with her.

'''I know that those two girls did so much for our country, but no matter what they are strangers. You are looking at that little girl as she was some sort of Goddess.''

Her uncle stood there and glared at Kyra that actually without stop helped people already for a while. He felt jealousy and grudge as next to her he was quite inferior. ''Foreigners should just stay put. no one asked them to help us...''

Healer Ling just shook her head and gave him a long glare. ''You better not utter such idiotic things in front of grandfather. He will disown you in matter of moments. I respect you, you are after all my uncle, but do not go too far. They didn't have to help. If your friends, nobles, came out to help or sent helping hands, then they wouldn't need to even interfere. So if you have time to argue go to the city and gather materials from your beloved nobles.''

''You insolent little... '' He shook his finger at her turning completely white and then red from anger. ''How can you be so disrespectful to your Elder.''

She just shrugged off. ''If you were real Elder, you wouldn't put me in such a position that I have to choose between you and her. I would definitely choose her. Any time. Forever!''

Even tho Kyra was very far away from the two of them, she could hear their discussion and a tiny smile appeared on her face.

''It seems you gained a real friend in this city. Later, when you become a direct assistant to the prince, you can do official things to help your friends, maybe give her money or send her to royal hospital.'' Ao Theo wanted to make her feel better but suddenly felt coldness seeping out her whole body.

''She is not that kind of person and neither am I. Healer Ling is a real healer. If she could get some education in some prestigious school in our country, wouldn't that be good? Even a bit of knowledge would help her and her people. She is really good doctor and I respect her.'' Kyra wanted to help her but knew her eagerness to learn more about medicinal knowledge. ''Count our country open school for foreigners?''

Ao Theo chuckled. ''We do have schools for people that we found good enough. I will speak later to Elder Kai and you urge as well from your side. With our recommendation, we could send her to one of our healing facilities to learn more.''

Kyra rose her eyes towards him and shone in her eyes intensified from happiness. ''Those that want to improve should be rewarded. Healer Ling si one person I really am grateful for. She helped us from first moment on. I think she deserves the recommendation.''

Ao Theo followed their steps one by one and was constantly amazed by their surviving instincts. For them to just do the best to survive he was quite happy that this time he met this child. Yes, indeed. Healer Ling helped them a lot by buying stuff from them even tho they were two orphans and on top pf that foreigners.

She never looked down on them and made them feel always comfortable. Ao Theo made the decision that if Elder Kei doesn't recommend her he will asl father to do so. Not many had such open hand like she id in this country.

He could see Healer Ling helping an older man to puke in the bucket, then wiped his face calmly with a wet tissue and then smiled at him while giving him medicine. This woman has quite a lot of energy inside, maybe they could teach her...

Suddenly a strange voice called them. ''Look who is there. The girl and the Guard.''
