One More Step

On Elder Kai's face was expression full of disdain. ''Nice work has your kingdom. I didn't know that you can make such a large play in broad daylight while your people are dying from sickness. Is this how you will lead your country and is this how your Emperor is handling his situation? Great, just great. Now move aside. I have no stomach or even wish to see your blessed face. Amazing country, while their people are hungry and dying the others are trying to stop us from helping. Peculiar people indeed.''

Kyra glanced at him and slightly looked at the direction where they came from with meaningful expression. then she nodded and as the carriage passed astonished nobles that came Crown Prince's face became darker and darker as he recognized some of the soldiers that stood in mid of crowd that was about to spread. ''Arrest them ALL. Including the soldiers! If I see one of them escaping I will kill you and your families. This is a direct order and treat. Who does not obey, kill!''

His furious expression and ice-cold eyes made all nobles scared and speechless. One of the nobles that knew him from small on wanted to say something but got slapped sill and fell off the horse. Looking at Crown Prince he finally realized. He is the future ruler and Emperor. No matter how many years they knew each other, the fact that he is Crown Prince, they all put on back of their heads as he was always treating them friendly and kind.

''If you disobey my order one more time, I will completely forget our friendship from old times and will just kill you. If you know someone inside and do not tell me, I will take it that you are an accomplice. Speak now, if I find even small tread that you have something to do with this all... You will be arrested and accused of state treason. As my friend, I beg you to speak now. Later, I won't be able to save your life or your family member's destruction.''

The young man stood up from the floor with the bleeding mouth and went on knees. Just now the coldness and warmth at the same time made him clear his mind. After so many years of being a close friend to Crown Prince, he became full of himself and forgot that he is was there by his side only because of the trust Crown Prince had. If he loses this trust now, his family...

He rose his face and looked at the Crown Prince seriously. Without fear. ''I did. A friend of mine, that I grew up from youth was there but he looked confused as he had no idea what was going on. I am not sure if he is involved in all this, or not, but it seemed that he came just now. I hope Your Highness will put my words into consideration and investigate the time frame. Please.''

Crown Prince relaxed. ''I understand. Stand up. We will check by the gates and my guards. They knew when and who was walking where. '' He said that loudly making many people feeling coldness creep even further towards their heart. Does that mean his Highness knew about their movements?

They all looked at each other with fear but then lowered their eyes as they could feel the coldness that Crown Prince radiated, enveloping their bodies and their souls.

Looking at their eyes wandering here and there Crown Prince disdainfully smirked at them and then rushed his horse towards people that tried to run away. ''Capture all of them. Not even one man, woman and child can escape! Integrate them all. We need to find who are those rotten eggs that are trying to spoil our country. When we find them I will personally strip every piece of skin of their bodies with my tow hands. Hurry!!!''

His anger could be felt all the way until the carriage but Kyra just smirked lightly and looked at the gates of the city where rows of people stood and asked for help. As soon she saw healer Ling and her family standing before the gates she looked at Elder Kim.

''Elder, I need to help healer Ling. Could you please take Anna to the palace hospital.'' They already spoke about it. In the palace hospital, Anna could help with brought medicine to make a new strain of medicine for this sickness while Kyra would help directly with sick people.

Anna suddenly jumped off the carriage and stopped Kyra. ''I feel somehow uneasy. Really uneasy. Please be careful. I know you are safe now, but still, be careful as much as you can.''

Kyra smiled, nodded and then took large strides towards healer Lyns tent. She could smell all kinds of nasty stuff so she pulled her mask on her face and walked even faster.

This time Ao Theo officially stood by her side and helped her as much as he could. While she was helping people, he understood how smart she really was. If Anna was here she would probably not even show her real talents. He was a bit curious. ''Did you send her in because she is bad in protection or because it would be bothersome when you heal the people?''

Kyra just gave him small glance and chuckled. ''To any questions are not now to be answered. Maybe some other day... Or never. If I ever chose to get rid of that girl, you will know. Let her stay bit longer by my side. I actually liked spending my time with her, too bad she chose to mess around with wrong people. I fear she will get hurt in the future. I still hope that she will change. There is still time.''

But Ao Theo has other thoughts about Anna. He knew her background and knowing the story about her doesn't mean that the child is bad, she was probably used for their own ideas.

Fortunately, Anna is still a child. So they all plan to forgive her as she was let on by people that are much smarter and have sweet tongues. One day when he finds them he will rip that poisonous stuff out their mouth and let them wish that they die faster after he gets his hands on them.

But now is still not the time, they have to wait longer...
