In the palace, noblewomen started commenting as soon as the group of people disappeared. The big doors closed so no one could hear their conversation.

"That Liu miss has more elegance than all the other girls together. Is it true that she lived in the forest? Somehow I feel that she has too many nobility in her blood to be a normal peasant." One older woman shook her head while she continued. "That story is strange. I heard young miss Liu family girl was kidnapped when she was just five years old. Thinking about it she does look like old miss Liu. Too bad..."

Everyone actually knew well the family. It was without doubt that she was really the lost miss, but what really happened to her was quite a mystery.

Dowager just nodded with a smile. "That child looks really like her. And the same stubborn character. Too bad I had to punish her as well with others. You all are from old distinguished families. So you know that there are many things that we can't control. Even if we are rulers. That child is at my liking, even if Emperor doesn't take her as his Empress I officially proclaim her under my protection. But I can tell only you all this. One of the noblewomen looked straight at her and with a smile pointed at the spot where other girls were standing. "Do you think they will willingly give up? I could see that they have their own ideas."

Dowager smile deepened. "It is fine. She needs to learn how to deal with them anyway. Weak Empress is not good for the country. But somehow I can see she is not weak at all."

They all chuckled behind theory handkerchiefs. "They followed her involuntary. That pose and grace made even them follow her lead. Amazing girl indeed."

Dowager looked at them and a satisfied smile was planted on her lips. "That child had a rough life. I just fear..."

The women became serious. "We got words about the Elder ones. It seems they really are trying to set up the son of the crazy emperor on the seat. Are they senile? So many years people lived in hellish fear. Everyday deaths. Every day kidnapping of young women. We all had to hide our daughters. That poor child got kidnapped as well. I don't know is she lucky, or unlucky that she was very young. Who knows what really happened to her."

Woman by Dowagers side sighed. "I sent someone to check on her. We think she was hypnotized. Dalla, come out, explain to them."

The female officer that went to visit Liu Mei bowed deeply to everyone and started explaining everything that was spoken between them two. "..., but no matter how much I explained she still holds on that she had husband and children."

One of the noblewomen sighed. "Didn't you check on her body?"

Everyone had smiles on their faces. For so long no woman could even get close to him. Let's hope this time she will at least get successfully in his bed. They really hoped. Actually, many feared that their young Emperor is a bit astray, liking men.

That wouldn't be a huge problem if he were not last of his bloodline and ruler on top of that. As long he gets inheritor, he might as well do in his private time whatever he wants.

On another hand, Liu Mei plopped on the chair weakly while everyone jumped to take care of her. She just chuckled as she saw their worried faces and shook her head.

"Stop worrying. I am not that weak. But strangely I am hungry again. Is there any food for me?" Xiao Ran was already on her way to the kitchen when she heard that question.

They already expected that so they prepared light supper. They knew she was fasting so all the dishes were actually made out vegetables.

Actually, Xiao Ran already explained in advance about her preference so their kitchen got vegetables from the main kitchen. But they didn't trust any of those and used only the ones in the garden.

As the smell of freshly made vegetables started wafting out the kitchen, there was suddenly knock on the main gate. Xiao Ran sends one of the servants to open it as she served Liu Mei, but was stunned as the servant came back with one side of the face with red imprint.

Everyone looked at the female servant that stood there with bowed head. Liu Mei scrunched her eyebrows. "What happened? Who dared?"

But behind shaking servant a young woman came with brisk steps almost rushing to Liu Mei. "This is all your fault. I need to..."
