My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

"Why did you never tell me about that night?" Jess turned to face him. Her eyes were red and tears seemed ready to fall any minute.

John was stunned. He never imagined that she would suddenly ask him this question. What hurts him the most is that she is crying thinking about that horrible night.

"I did not want you to be with me because of that incident." He answered her honestly.

At this moment, both of them knew what the base of their relationship was. Jess would have agreed to this arrangement if he said about his involvement on the day they met. John was her saviour and as this meeting was set up by their parents, she would not have denied it. John's choice to hide this matter indeed proved to be a correct decision. She made a choice completely on her own free will and not for her feeling of gratitude.

Jess turned away from him and looked at the stars in the sky. John followed her gaze and looked at the twinkling jewels.

"John... " he turned to look at her once again.

"Thank you for everything." She said softly.

John reached out and very gently touched her tear-stained cheek. He wiped the tears and solemnly promised in his heart to never let her cry again.

She touched by his gesture. The confusion she felt over so many days seemed to get cleared today. She was so wrong when she thought that she could never like anyone else. John proved her wrong. Jess was feeling happy that John came into her life and that she was with him.

Jess held his hands which were gently c.a.r.e.s.sing her cheek and she directly looked into his eyes. She wanted to look into his soul. She felt even more mesmerized by his gray eyes.

"John... would you always stay by my side?" she suddenly asked him.

John chuckled, "I won't leave you even if you ask me to."

"John... I think..."

"Hm, you think?"

"I think that I like you" After saying the words, she could no longer look into his eyes. Her cheeks burned red and she bit her lips.

John was stunned. He was not ready for the sudden acceptance. He froze for a minute and looked at the shy Jess. He then pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly.

"Thank you so much, Jess. I will make sure that next time you won't say 'think' when accepting your feeling towards me"

They pulled apart and started laughing. She nodded and told him that they were out here for a long time and that his friends would be waiting for them.

James: "I am betting you guys, I never thought that he would not be able to keep his hands off her even for a while."

Liam and Raya rolled their eyes. Liam threw a cushion pillow at him.

Liam: "Will you shut that dirty mouth of yours?"

Raya: "He is not like you."

Rose: "I hope that everything is okay between them."

They looked at her with curiosity.

Raya: "Did something happen?"

Rose: "It is better if they would themselves say you about it."

They all stared at each other and didn't ask her any longer. Liam would steal glances of Rose every now and then.

John: "James are you done with the singing? What about your claim to sing all night long?"

John and Jess entered and sat among them. It was just like before. His friends were dying to know what took them so long, but after looking at John's expression saying 'dude don't even think about asking', they continued playing games and kept quiet about it.

After a few hours, all of them proceeded to go back after having dinner.

Liam: "It was nice to meet you Jess"

Raya: "We had a good time together, John we are looking forward to more such gatherings."

Rose: "Yeah, I enjoyed a lot with all of you."

Rose hugged Jess bid her goodbye.

Jess was feeling heavy-headed. "John I will take my leave as well. I had a good time with your friends."

John sends her home.
