My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

Jessica returned to Blevins Villa after work. She was kind of excited about her new life. She sure had doubts about marrying John, but she chose to trust him. She had a feeling that he would not betray her. She wanted to trust him. Something inside her told her that she would never regret her decision.

She reached home only find the whole place was decorated splendidly.

'Huh! Isn't it supposed to be a simple engagement party between the two families?'

With a surprised look on her face, she went in.

Lincoln: "Adjust the lighting there a bit, it is supposed to lighten up the center of the stage... Ah! There, there... now it looks perfect"

People were rushing all over the place getting the arrangements done. They had less than an hour to get the place ready.

Jess: "Dad...Dad...DAD!"

Lincoln: "Oh! Gosh, Jess, you scared me. I am busy with preparations now, don't bother me. Your cousins have got your clothes ready for the party. Go and get dressed. They should arrive in an hour, I have to make sure everything is ready before they arrive."

Jess: "..." "Dad, Is it not supposed to be a closed family occasion, where only our families are present and no one else?"

Lincoln: "Yes. Only we will be the ones present. I want everything to be perfect. We will prepare a grand wedding, this is all done in a haste"

Jess: "..." If this is haste, then she could not imagine what the wedding would be like.

She didn't want to say anything to dispirit him, she just went to look for her cousins.

Greta: "Sis come and see what we have for you here"

Lilly and Greta pulled her inside the room and showed her what she was supposed to wear for the evening. Jess was surprised. She didn't think that she was going to wear such a dress.

Jess: "This dress... it is very beautiful"

Lilly: "You will look very good in this dress. Aunt Lina sent this for you."

Greta: "We don't have much time. After you get ready we need to get ready as well. Let's start dressing you up"

Without any delay, the sisters start getting her ready.

At the Parker House,

John was ready. He was still thinking about his interaction with her in the office today. He was happy that she trusted him. He was very lucky. As he got ready he looked himself in the mirror again.

He was wearing a light gray tux with a peachy tie. His hair was meticulously styled and he wore black leather shoes. A limited-edition watch by Cartier adorned his wrist. He was looking very handsome and dashing.

Lina and George entered his room. Lina was wearing a light blue bodycon dress and George was in a dark gray suit. Lina was holding a white rose and came forward to pin it on John's tux.

"See now it looks perfect. I can't believe you are getting engaged today"

"Thanks, mom"

"I think we should keep going" George led them out of the room.

In the living room, Grandpa Parker wearing was waiting for them. He was wearing a suit of the same shade as George.

"What took you guys so much time? I can't wait to meet my granddaughter in law. I knew that she was a gem the first time I saw her." Grandpa Parker was very happy for the two.

They got on their cars and started for the Blevins Villa.

The preparations were over. The place looked beautiful. The theme of the engagement party was Gray, Peach, and Blue. The inner hall of the Villa was decorated with the flowers of the same color. In the center, a stage was prepared. There was a flower arch above the two-seater sofa. The place was brightly lit with the white fairy light. The place radiated a magical vibe.
