My Hero Academia- Thunderstorm

Chapter 20 - Skipping to the Good Stuff

After the many trials and tribulations from the other rounds, it's finally down to ten people. There has been something that has bothered me about this festival. Some of the participants have had their powers multiplied during some of the earlier rounds. It's made getting to the final round a lot more difficult than I thought. The only possible thing it could be is the drug made from Kyoka. That would mean that the guy responsible for Kyoka's torture is still alive and well. It also means that he was able to synthesize a drug with Kyoka amplification abilities without Kyoka itself. If I didn't hate his guts, then I might be impressed. Which leads me to the conclusion that they were using the students of UA as guinea pigs for this experiment of theirs.

Denki (Electrification)

Bakugo (Explosive sweat)

Midoriya (One for All)

Mirai (???)

Shinso (Brainwashing)

Ida (Engine)

Uraraka (Gravity)

Konton (???)

Todoroki (Half-Cold Half-Hot)

Jiro (Earphone Jack)

The final round is a tournament for the remaining participants where they must fight one on one battles to decide the ultimate victor. The first match is Shinso vs. Midoriya. The fight goes relatively the same as it does in the manga. The next fight is Jiro vs. Uraraka. It's an interesting fight to see Jiro taking an evade and counter approach. Jiro was trying her best to avoid Uraraka touching her while at the same time trying to use her quirk to attack Uraraka. Eventually, Jiro made a mistake which led to her gravity being reduced to the point she started floating in the air. Uraraka didn't waste the opportunity and knocked Jiro off stage. Instead of watching the next battle between Midoriya and Todoroki, I decided to comfort Jiro about her loss against Uraraka.

Denki: Hey. You did amazing. Not everyone can say they made it to the final round. (She didn't even make it in the original story-line)

Jiro: Your right but I feel like a failure.

Denki: Don't be. Its clear to me that your an amazing woman with plenty of strength. On and off the battlefield.

Jiro: Thanks Denki.

Denki: No problem.

We room was completely silent, but it didn't feel awkward. It was like everything was right and that we have grown even closer than we were before. However, before I could even think about the next step in our relationship another visitor appeared in the room.

Mirai: Hey. Hope your feeling okay after your loss.

Jiro: I'll win next time.

Denki: Mirai, are you sure you should be here since your fight is coming up soon?

Mirai: Don't worry I still have some time left.

Denki: Why don't we walk to your waiting room since I don't want to waste too much of your time?

Mirai: Sure that's fine by me.

We start walking to his waiting room and to continue the conversation.

Denki: You saw during the earlier rounds that people in this festival were using a drug to enhance their quirk.

Mirai: You know its a drug. Impressive. I fought against a couple people whose strength seemed to multiply out of nowhere. Where did you get this information?

Denki: It's not important. What's important is why people are using it in this competition?

Mirai: Isn't it just to do well in the festival or do you think its part of a bigger plan?

Denki: I would make sense if it was to win but it seems that every time I came across someone using the drug they didn't even know that they were using a drug. They described it as unlocking their "full potential" when backed into a corner. What foolishness.

Mirai: Well what's the common denominator.

Denki: They all were wearing watches but can you hide a drug in the watches.

Mirai: We would need to get our hands on one of those watches, but that's enough for now. Thanks for trusting me with this information. Bye.

Denki: We can talk for a little longer.

Present Mic: The next contestants will arrive shortly. Get pumped up for the next battle.

I guess our time is up.

By the time I came up to see the fight it had already started and from what I could see he has an overwhelming advantage over her opponent. Mirai had not attacked his opponent once and just let her rush him however she wanted. He dodged every attack she made perfectly and effortlessly. It was like a seasoned veteran was going up against a child. There was no tension when there was such a clear and obvious distance between them. When she was tired, Mirai went on the offensive and swiftly knocked her out. Uraraka was defeated and loss in the second round.

The next round was Bakugo vs. Ida. It was a much more exciting battle to watch compared to the fight before it. Ida was running circles around Bakugo to try to use his speed to gain a few hits on Bakugo. After a few hits, Bakugo didn't allow this to go on and used his quirk to blast Ida off him. Ida tried to retreat, but Bakugo is using his quirk to catch up to the speedy Ida and counterattack. Even though Ida was taking damage he managed to catch Bakugo off guard and use Recipro Burst to knock him off the stage. Bakugo did go over the edge of the arena but he quickly used his quirk to avoid touching the ground and propelled himself back to the stage. Ida now weakened as he waits for his cooldown is assaulted mercilessly by Bakugo and is eventually thrown out of the ring by an explosion.
