Chapter 57 - hidden dangers

A small breeze followed Shaka into the room, noise could be heard as hundreds of small nearly packed trinkets, dances in response to the wind. The door automatically closed behind the sunlight coming in from a massive window, the furniture was fairly large, if one had to guess it was made for bigger people but not quite giants. Shaka carefully observed everything in the room spotting a Greater Siren's Orb, in the back of the room. It's inner smoke slowly turning as he got closer and closer.

Ahem!

Shaka snaps out of the daze, to realise that their is a Mage Shaman, his cloak giving away that he has an affiliation with nature, his staff equally made of Dryad nest branches, making it appear to more jewel than tree branch. The man wore a loin colth with a big garnet in centre of what would be his belt. The man wore spartan sandals, that went up to his higher calf, his sandal on the right blocking what appears to be a massive scar.

"As an adventure you will face many challenges young one, some great and leading to great rewards, others a choice that will always cost the lives of those that you adventure with. Today's test is one that will ask you search deep inside yourself." The voice of the man really sharp, deliberately pacing his words as he spoke.

Shaka had already steadied himself as soon as he heard the noise, from the shaman. The shamans face was covered with what looked like an Orc skull cut in half and joined with Eland horn, or Unicorn maybe even Wendigo. He could see hallmarks of all three creatures on the horns, Shaka did not know if it ,a me from one creature or a few of them.

"Young one, you must make a choice their is no right answer it is what it is. Go to the orb prepare yourself many have underestimated the orb only to be torn asunder by it." The Shaman molds mana in his hand before shooting put a spell towards the Siren's Orb. The spell flew towards the orb slowly, almost like gas Ether just before it turns into liquid, creeping ever so mischievously into the orb.

The Greater Siren's Orb inner mist changed from a serene black mist that encompassed the entirety of the orb, to a maniacally white ebbing just outside orb. It fog taking the shape of all kind of menacing creatures a wry crackling sound could be heard as it moved around the Orb.

Shaka knew, he was uneasy but he knew that he would have to.....

"Go and touch the Orb young one the rest will relive it self once you reach the orb, your have one hour to pass, may the Great Grazer go with" He make a symbol with both his hands.

Shaka thought to himself "f.u.c.ken hell." The white mist energy disrupted the natural flow of mana thus the unsettling feeling it produced. As he moved closer the white would briefly touch the skin before retreating back. Every time the fog did that a small annoying electrical charge would be sent through the body. Just before he touched the orb a little bit flew into his lungs, he coughed like someone smoking Dream Weed for the time. The violent coughing did not stop him from touching the Orb.

A he was pulled into a version, being innately familiar with this kind of magic, he knew that he was in a magical space. The orb rattled abit fluctuating to tune it self to his mana tune.

An image of a vast volcano appeared, with a small platform. Ropes stretched out from Shaka's each hands in opposites directions. At the end of the rope was on his right was Dawn, the left was Rain.

As soon as she saw him Rain started crying profusely "Where have you been? it's been so hard trying to find you, I , I, I, thought you were dead my love. You did not even make it to Valduum, I was sooo hurt, why did not ever try to come home? you don't know what'd its like not even finding a single clue about you."

Shaka was clearly disturbed, his spirit had always held out hope of seeing his family again just not like this. Before he could answer her another familiar voice chimed in.

"Mandla save me quickly drop that witch into fire and let's get out of here." Her voice was full of anger and a bitterness he had not heard in his sister's voice since they found out why they were coming to Lumeria."

Shaka gripped both ropes tightly however it was pretty clear that the rope would snap within an hour killing both the fibres could seen slowly snapping be it the heat or some other force he was the clock and had to think fast. "What happened between you two, I have not been gone that long."

Dawn replied the rage in voice hotter than the flames of the volcano "You have been gone long enough, five years next month to be exact."

Shaka nearly let go when heard that five years had past, "What happened to Byrse? Dawn what happened to our house, our family?"

Dawn's head lowered as she looked at the flames and said "She happened."

"What does that mean, what are you saying?" He needed to hear it he could not believe a small thought crept in the back of his head mudding his thoughts.

Rain voice sounded " I did what was necessary, to survive the church sacrifices had to be made Dawn, you were not their when it mattered none of you were there. What was I supposed to do let them win."

Shaka heart was full of despair, the love of his two lives had confessed he knew her well to read in between the lines, especially the comment aimed at him. He made his decision, he placed Dawn's rope underfoot and pulled up Rain to the platform. "I believe in you, help me with Dawn and we can work this out as family."

Rain capitulated helping him to pull up Dawn. As soon as she arrived on the platform she lunged at Rain yelling at the top her voice "murderer!"

Rain moved swiftly Dawn is not match her for her. " I don't want to kill you Dawn don't force my hand sister." A momentary smile flashed passed Rains face as she said that.

Shaka got in between them, as the lava had begun to cool rapidly rather than heat up. The way out was visible to Shaka. "Lets go quickly this place is dangers, we. An sort this out on the surface."

Dawn said " I will not leave with her, she killed everyone, Mandla you have to believe me she is the evil worse than the church."

Shaka responded " You can not be serious at least let me hear you out somewhere other than here."

"No Mandla choose right now the devil or me?" Dawn's voice was full of knives.

"Rain do you have anything to say, for yourself?"

She only lowered her head, "I did what was right at the time, I did not plan for things to turn out this way, sometimes things just happen."

"You killed them one by one, I know.you have been looking for me too Rain. So do not say things just happened, YOU MADE THEM HAPPEN!"

Dawn pulled out a sword, with a beautiful ornate ebony design, slashing at Rain in spiral fashion. The swipes coming from all angles. Rains response was swift and accurate her only attack was deadly landing at the heart of Dawn, her armour was cut like it did not even exist.

"Noooooo!" Shaka fell to his knees, he knew that Rain could never kill his sister, this minding breaking scene of front him pushed him too far, the sight of Rain killing Dawn did not register. His aura pushed to the limit his mana materialized physically a giant serpentine spirit surrounded him.

Everything at this moment stood still Rains hand glowing a vibrant yellow blood covering it. Dawn's heart in her hand, a smile that Shaka had seen before across her face.

Boom! Shaka is flung across the room, as the shards of clear thick glass spread out from The Greater Siren Orb, the white fog transformed into a Siren. It tall like a mermaids, upper body of a women, it's teeth sharp like a shark standing nearly Three meters tall.

The Shaman launched an array of spells, first water well, created a pit nearly six metered deep to trapped the Siren. The monster seeing and feeling the water was immediately attracted to it. The second spell landed as soon as it dove into the water.

The top of the closed on on itself, the shaman quickly appeared before shark whilst cast his third "Run you fool!" he was pointing at the window Shaka bolted immediately his mana moving to not assistant him but protect him, it seemed to be alive.

Crash! Three figures fly out of the Legion buildings windows as a large explosion is seen coming from one of the rooms.

Shaka landed on his feet his eyes glowing bright red, his serpentine mana fading slowly. The Shaman landed next him, "take him!" The Shaman then cast another spell at the room as a larger explosion is contained in a small space the Shaman battled with the explosion trying to escape the shamans cage.

The short battle had depleted the Shaman and the guards took them all away towards a chamber. Shaka collapse meant he did not know which way they took him.

Shaka was slapped awake by a guard, "My Lord this is the one his reaction, caused the Greater orb to exploded releasing the Naga Siren Saber. I handled the situation as best I could my Lord please forgive the disturbance to your hidden training."

Lord magistrate Kim, waved and vanished only a whisper filled the air "make sure it does not happen again! Stevens."

The Shaman bowed for a whole minute after he had confirmed the mana of Lord Magistrate Kim had disappeared. Soon he turned to Shaka who was still in chains, "boy you have one chance join the Legion as a magistrate official or of face imprisonment."

Shaka was confused "imprisoned for what I did nothing but take your stupid test."

"That maybe the case however your performance has exceeded our testing criteria, since you damaged the Legion you have no choice but to join us." The Shaman laughing as he threatened to ruin Shaka's life.

Shaka thought for a second "Anthony! Capitan Anthony already recruited me yesterday into the kings...."

As soon as he said Anthony the Shaman snapped his fingers many times a whole rush of guards came in, "Summon master Anthony quickly bring him here now."

All the guards ran into every hall of the Legion fort Lauderdale, scrambling to adhere to the order of Stevens.

Not even twelve minutes had passed when the six members of the Kings walked all different races they were a veritable hotpot of differences. A small gnome stood at the front and commanded the guards "Clear the room now maggots."

The guards all rushed out, the gnome turned to the Shaman, "You dare to command us?"

Stevens immediately knelt all the down making sure his head was lower the gnome.

"My Lord he claimed to be a member of the Kings l, I only wish for you to exact your punishment on this fool."

"Well that is truly interesting, it has been a long time since someone, has tried that let me see him."

The Shaman crawled to Shaka before letting Shaka up holding him by the back of his neck "This , this is, is the man my Lord, he is the one that claimed to be a member the Kings."

In one single swift and unseen motion a body hit the wall blood flowing out, the chains broken on the ground....
