Chapter 56 - Examination.....

The Oxpen, bellowed in the mist of the morning Shaka was folding up his camp and cleaning up the site. He moved around the Oxpen to make sure all the cargo is secure. As he was moving towards the city, a couple of bodies appeared next to the elemental lion the women scoffed as they vanished again.

The journey back proved uneventful even the silver meerkat was alone thus It was of little consequence. He spotted a few other people who he recognized as fellow test applicants.

Shaka made sure to not interfere he was in not the mood to be dragged into another person's mess, he was still trying to sort the mess in his head. Deliver himself from this twisted and find a way home.

Shaka had kept a meticulous record of everything he picked, the amount of items he collected could sell for a pretty penny at the right vendor. According to his own estimation he should have even to strike out on his own.

Shaka had gained a few clues on the way to get to Lumeria. The first gate to a lower realm was in the land of Helena, a supposed favoured hunting ground of a group of feral female barbarian tribe who have inhabited the wood lands for over seven thousand years or so the legend goes.

The only way through their territory is to join an expedition team that is traveling to one of the lower realms. The barbarians are extremely territorial, one story he heard which convinced him was how they chased a Centaur down for three weeks for taking a flower from one the structures they put up in the forest.

Shaka knew that his only chance in a reasonable time frame is the Ebon Legion as the other legions like The Nkosazana legion, Abioye Legion and Chiamaka Legion had already launched their expeditions and would not be back for at least three years. Only the Ebon Legion was still awaiting deployment.

A Lizardman city guard, inspected the Oxpen for an unusually long time, he kept pacing over and over the crates and boxes. "You need an import parchment to bring, the unregistered pets. Shaka had spotted another carriage moves through gates by only paying gold, it was obvious that he the guard was trying to shake him down.

Shaka clicked his tongue in disapproval, he slowly steadied himself Blanca had taught him well. A sick grin appeared on his face as he stood up yelling a the top "Ohhh my poor family, what am I to do [He flung his arms open his eyes watering], how can I support my family like this....you are supposed to protect us yet you would pillage the pockets of poor what am I to do!"

He purposefully stepped into the way of a much fancier carriage, the type that carried the type of person you should not mess with. He collapsed in front of the man driving the carriage came to an abrupt stop. Inside a voice could he heard " Voth col du ata tuga loko poch yebu."

The carriage driver, yelled at the guard almost immediately without even giving him the guard a chance to defend himself the number of obscenities flying around almost brought the whole check point to a stand still.

The guard in a panic waved everyone through, as he moved to pick up Shaka he suddenly rose from his fainted state, rose up quickly dusting himself off before ordering his Oxpen to move along.

The busy streets of the city, all bustled with their own scent of life. Shaka wanted to unload everything at once so he stopped at Vimbay's store.

She was an incredibly beautifully faced women, her long clay red hair, her strong check bones her entire face was flawless the perfect picture of beauty by any standard.

She wore a cloak that hid the curves of her body, she in fact looked kind of like a cuc.u.mber with the clothes she had on. She slithered closer "Bring everything to the back if the manifest you have me checks out, you will have a nice sack of gold by the time you are finished at the Legion."

Shaka nodded it was pleasant that he did not have to negotiate, Blanca would always negotiate with every customer even if it took a few hours.

Shaka believed that the time she wasted could be better used somewhere else. Blanca had told him that it was her duty to get the best deal no matter what.

It was a unique personality trait that Shaka could help but dislike it he had grown more and more restless everyday, he felt like he was wasting time every day he spent in Crusader. An uneasy feeling had been welling up in him over the past week.

Shaka entered the hall of Legion an adjudicator was standing next to a body of a high elf. He was maybe 103 with his body it was hard to tell, but Shaka knew that he was at least a hundred because he did not have any of his head bark remaining.

Shaka carefully examined the body, of the elf unlike shorter life races, High elves turn a light green hue instead of yellow which signifies a poison that attacks the liver.

High elves are also particularly s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e to processed medication.

Shaka needed to make a cure without using alchemy techniques, the process would take a little longer than usually. He also needed to take a blood sample to determine the type of poison.

Shaka could also seen by the necklace that this high elf wore that he was a Begota High Elf, a tribe of especially religious gaiaphiles.

This high elf had to be treated a little different, if Shaka was going to treat him he need to make a cut on the inside of the mouth to draw blood any visible treatment would offend his people. His own people would kill him if they saw a visible scar or wound.

Shaka worked with the blood, splitting it into three samples, the samples were each mixed into a different concoction. He was testing for the type poison. The second produce a positive result for a type of poisonous mushroom found in the broken wood.

Shaka had made mushy pork soup using it as it produced a flavour similar to beer in soup. The poison could be cured by making a mix of berries and Jammba herb, a local weed that looked like bulbous in nature with a magenta shine to it.

Shaka had to carefully use the skin of the Jammba to produce a white sticky liquid that could be combined with the various berries, the marble berry in particular was necessary to neutralize the extreme toxic nature of Jammba.

He had made a raw mix that took over three hours to prepare. The viscosity of the of the berry mix was also important, as it was the main indicator that the mix was ready and could be used as a neutralizing agent.

Shaka prepared the completed solution for the high elf, he did one final check to make sure he was correct. The adjudicator had stood still the entire time, never once did he even move, only observing every move Shaka made. Shaka breathed in deeply just before pouring in the potion into the man. He condition did not really improve much.

Shaka made to massage the man's neck so that the potion was completely swallowed it. He signaled the adjudicator to explain what he thought was wrong with the man and how he had cured him.

Shaka did not list any of the cultural curiosities he observed, he knew full well that big organization did not care about the little things just fix the problem. Shaka informed the man after working for a whole eight hours that the man should be healed by the morning.

The adjudicator waved his arm and a pendant appeared on Shaka's coat. "follow me please" A sweet voice came out of the suit of armor that was fully covered her face.

Shaka followed closely behind the adjudicator up the stairs into another room. "Please wait here, sir a senior envoy is one his way to talk to you." The adjudicator gave him a polite bow before vanishing into thin air.

Shaka nearly jumped out of his seat he could not tell If she had used a spell or it was brute strength it was the first time in a long time he had seen someone outclass him by such a high margin.

The last time was when he saw the supreme pontiff of the church of the undying, escape from the Adventures Association he had been surrounded by twenty elders only twelve made it back alive.

The Supreme Pontiff Julius Zumanga, used all kinds of spell that no one could understand it was the first time a necromancer had been fought the entirety of Oshun city fell into to chaos for three days and nights.

He had single handedly kill over two million citizens that he would then resurrect as his minions. Some people actually started to give themselves to him in return for power he had the unique ability to active the necromancer nanites.

This made it one of the most bitterly fought battles as brother turned on sister and friends slayed each other in defence or had to kill a loved as a means to pass the test of the Supreme Pontiff.

The birth of the church was the most difficult time in Lumeria, on the Atlanta continent, Oshun city the various powers all suffered at the church carved a bloody road to the Southern Mountains.

Those that remained vowed to destroy the Church Of The Undying, in its entire the first wave of three million new adventures all died in two weeks the deaths forced the Association to act and restrict movements etc.

A high elf walked into the room less than twenty minutes after the test. Shaka eyes went wide open it was the same High Elf he had treated earlier. He was wearing a light armour with some sort of wooden element molded into the armour.

"I am Anthony Carter a Capitan in the Ebon Legion, I am need of someone like you if you can pass the final tests I will bring you into my squad, it a great to get a lot of front line experience. whatcha you say?"

Shaka said clearly showing he was interested in the offer "I am not sure what you mean, what can I provide that the legion does not already provide to you."

Anthony leaned back "Do you not think it's weird that a Capitan is working as a test dummie. The legion is a wonderful thing a powerful thing and that power has ruined many top generals, if one wishes to succeed in the legion every person in your squad was someone that must be trusted."

Shaka frowned he thought that the legion would have such deep divides "If I join your squad, what kind of danger can I expect, I don't want to be involved in some faction war."

Anthony spoke with a resolute "The kings of Ebon is our squad, we are looking for the tomb of Ebon we know his life took him to the lower realms. We do not involve ourselves in the politics of Legion, our position as the third highest ranking squad had been unshaven for a hundred years. We the kings are masters of our destiny the general expects each of his captains to produce results, based on how well you handled the first test its clear that

If we can have some like you in our squad I'm confident we can push through you are after all a creator. We can help you with that too or at least point you in the right direction."

Shaka sat back thinking carefully about everything that Anthony said he was considering the implications of joining the squad. The kings are an exciting prospect.

Anthony continued " I don't want you to rush into anything as you take the tests ask around about us you will see I'm on the level with you nothing but the truth always straight shooting you get me? Speaking of the test the next one is beyond that door make sure to handle it just as well you did this one."
