Because of this sudden change, the two people on the bed turned their attention to Liu Suoyu.

Lying there, Cheng Qing looked even more confused.

After a moment of stiffness, Liu Suoyu finally stammered, “I’m sorry, there was no response when I knocked on the door… I-I-I saw that the door wasn’t locked. The director said Luo Xi’s interview needs to be redone… I’m sorry!!! You guys continue!!!” Then, he closed the door with a loud bang.

The loud closing of the door brought the two people on the bed back to their senses.

Should they continue?

Luo Xi’s face turned bright red, and even Cheng Qing’s face flushed slightly as she tried to ease the awkward atmosphere, “Why did he run away?”

However, this statement did not ease the atmosphere. Luo Xi suddenly sat up.

She looked at Cheng Qing, stuttering and pointing to the door, “I… I… I…”

Cheng Qing seemed to understand what she wanted to say and could only smile gently, “Re-filming, right? Go ahead!”

So, Luo Xi quickly got out of bed and ran away.

After Luo Xi left, Cheng Qing finally sighed and got out of bed. She stood by the window, looking at the spot where Luo Xi had just been lying for a while. Then, she grabbed a bottle of mineral water from a nearby box and went to the balcony.

Leaning against the balcony railing, feeling the cold wind on her face, Cheng Qing finally cleared her mind.

The night sky was splendid, with the bright moon shining overhead, casting a silver glow over the villa and bathing the entire neighborhood in a faint light.

Cheng Qing unscrewed the bottle cap, took a big sip of cold water, and let out a deep sigh.

In the distance, there were neon-lit skyscrapers and cars speeding on the roads. That was the bustling city, while here, the villa nestled against the mountain, offering the rare advantage of tranquility and beautiful scenery!

Cheng Qing brushed aside her bangs, closed her eyes for a moment to savor the scene, and finally, with a bitter smile, muttered to herself, “What am I doing!”

After Liu Suoyu quickly ran downstairs, he stood at the stairwell with a shocked expression, making others curious and asking, “What’s going on?”

Liu Suoyu got himself together and said, “It’s nothing, nothing at all.”

Just then, they heard hurried footsteps from upstairs, and Luo Xi also came running down, looking flustered.

The two of them stood at the stairwell, both looking anxious. This made everyone in the living room curious, and they all got up, asking, “What’s happening?”

Liu Suoyu didn’t know what to say. What was the big deal?

And Luo Xi, in her flustered state, didn’t even look at them as she rushed into the room designated for interviews.

Everyone looked puzzled and turned to Liu Suoyu for an explanation. Now, Liu Suoyu was no longer nervous and coughed lightly, saying, “I don’t know, I really don’t know anything.” Then he went to the kitchen to find something to eat.

After a while, Cheng Qing also came downstairs. Compared to the two flustered individuals, Cheng Qing appeared much calmer.

Qi Shenghui smiled and asked her, “When those two came down, they looked shocked. What’s happening upstairs?”

Cheng Qing glanced calmly at Liu Suoyu, and Liu Suoyu awkwardly chuckled in response.

Cheng Qing shook her head, “It’s not a big deal. Liu Suoyu just saw a cockroach and got scared.”

Qi Shenghui: “…”

Feng Qiuyi looked at Liu Suoyu and laughed, “Liu Bro, you got scared by a cockroach!”

Liu Suoyu could only admit, “Cockroaches are terrifying! They look so disgusting.”

While they were talking, Luo Xi finished her additional interview and came out of the room. However, upon seeing Cheng Qing downstairs, she was once again shocked and hurriedly ran upstairs.

Cheng Qing: “…”

Everyone silently turned their heads to look at Cheng Qing, as if saying, “Hmm, I don’t find what you just said very convincing.”

Cheng Qing: “…”

Kong Mingyan came out of his room, and when he saw Cheng Qing, he smiled and said, “You came down too? I was just about to find you. Come in for a moment.”

Cheng Qing didn’t want to face the others, so she followed Kong Mingyan into the room.

After the door was closed and the curious looks from outside were shut out, Cheng Qing noticed that the room was very simply decorated. Kong Mingyan led her to sit down and smiled, “Let’s do a little interview with you too?”

The interviews are scattered throughout the show and can serve different purposes.

However, in reality, the three non-celebrities had never been interviewed before, so this was Cheng Qing’s first time conducting one.

Because Kong Mingyan had mentioned before that her popularity had increased, Cheng Qing wasn’t very surprised by the director’s request.

But…

“Do we really need to do this? I’m just an ordinary person,” Cheng Qing wasn’t quite used to it.

Kong Mingyan smiled and said, “Liu Suoyu is just an internet streamer!”

Cheng Qing smiled lightly, “That’s quite different. He has hundreds of thousands, even millions of viewers in his live broadcasts every night. But if that’s the case, doesn’t he no longer need to do live broadcasts?”

Kong Mingyan smoothly changed the topic, explaining, “He mentions the show’s recording in his live broadcasts, and there’s now a designated substitute streamer for his channel. He probably still goes live once every 2 to 3 days.”

Cheng Qing was surprised, “Really?”

Kong Mingyan laughed, “Of course. Although he signed a contract, some people have work-related issues that can’t be avoided. For example, Li Mingyao can keep his phone with him for a long time. Liu Suoyu sometimes goes back to his room early in the evening just to look at the materials sent by his staff. He looks good, and his fans are still looking forward to his appearance on the variety show.”

Cheng Qing sighed, “I never would’ve guessed!”

Kong Mingyan checked the time; it was almost 11:20 PM. He quickly said, “Enough about him, let’s talk about you!”

Cheng Qing: “…”

The room was empty, like a private conversation, probably to allow the stars to relax and chat a bit.

Kong Mingyan seemed really eager for this interview, so he didn’t give Cheng Qing much time to consider and directly asked, “Teacher Cheng, it’s been almost a week since you joined the show. Do you have any thoughts or impressions?”

Cheng Qing thought for a moment and replied, “I don’t have any thoughts.”

“……You must have some impressions, at least. After all, you’ve been together, played together, there must be something to share.” He was getting impatient with Cheng Qing.

Cheng Qing chuckled and smiled, “You’re right, actually… Everyone is easy to get along with, and we help each other. We had a good time together.”

Just that?

Kong Mingyan cleared his throat, “Was there someone who left a strong impression on you?”

Cheng Qing thought carefully and unexpectedly mentioned a name that surprised Kong Mingyan, “Li Mingyao!”

Kong Mingyan was taken aback, “Why him?”

Cheng Qing explained, “Because he said some things that really annoyed me.”

Kong Mingyan choked, “I’ll edit those parts out for you.”

Cheng Qing remained composed, and with a smile in her eyes, she said, “Thank you.”

Kong Mingyan sighed and then asked casually, “Among the participants in our show, who do you have the most favorable impression of?”

Cheng Qing replied, “Luo Xi!”

Kong Mingyan’s spirit lifted, finally hitting on the right topic, “Why?”

When it came to Luo Xi, Cheng Qing didn’t need much consideration; she earnestly answered, “I really liked her while watching the show…”

After the show had been airing for over a month, they had also conducted surveys, and during the first month, Luo Xi’s popularity had dropped the most.

Kong Mingyan had to admit that there were some issues with the editing. Everyone’s temperament had problems, including Luo Xi.

The term “tsundere” was a positive description, but “arrogant” carried negative connotations.

Just one word could determine Luo Xi’s popularity, whether it went up or down.

Unless someone was already a fan of Luo Xi, it was difficult for viewers to develop a favorable impression of this girl who spoke without restraint in the early episodes, even if she was stunningly beautiful.

“In my opinion, conflicts and clashes are bound to happen in a villa with nine big stars, especially if none of them have strong life skills. So, no matter the reasons, the process, or the outcome, shouldn’t it be… everyone’s responsibility together?” Cheng Qing said with a gentle smile.

“Just think of me as a parent who stands up for the child. Even before coming here, I already liked her a lot, so what I say might be a bit biased.”

Thinking of Luo Xi’s flustered and blushing appearance, Cheng Qing naturally showed a smile. “But she really is a lovely girl.”

Kong Mingyan smiled with relief, thinking that Cheng Qing made sense. In truth, out of the nine participants, none of them were particularly skilled, leading to the situation getting worse and worse.

Cheng Qing’s ability to still like Luo Xi despite the way she was portrayed in the editing and the influence of the live chat was quite remarkable.

Kong Mingyan chuckled and said, “You’re right. I’m excited to see more collaboration between you two in the future.”

Cheng Qing replied, “Huh?”

Kong Mingyan asked again, “When Luo Xi came in just now, I noticed her face was very red! She seemed flustered and avoided answering 9 out of 10 questions I asked. So, I just let her rest. Do you know what happened to her?”

Cheng Qing coughed from being caught off guard but finally gave in to Kong Mingyan’s teasing gaze and laughed, “She was probably scared by the cockroach!”

Kong Mingyan narrowed his eyes, “You think I’ll believe that?”

Cheng Qing stood up, smiling at Kong Mingyan, “Why are you asking so directly? Do you think I’d tell you?”

With that, she left. Kong Mingyan sighed, then suddenly realized, “I didn’t say the interview was over!” but Cheng Qing had already left, leaving Kong Mingyan speechless, “I let her slip away without paying attention.”

After Cheng Qing came out, everyone had already returned to their rooms to rest. Cheng Qing wasn’t feeling well, so she naturally didn’t stay downstairs.

She went upstairs, and as expected, the bedroom door was tightly closed, and the lights were already off.

Cheng Qing sighed softly and quietly got into bed.

Luo Xi was lying on her side with her back turned, looking like she was fast asleep. But after the near-accident earlier, Cheng Qing didn’t really believe Luo Xi was asleep.

Cheng Qing didn’t want to leave this awkwardness until the next day…

“Luo Xi?”

In the darkness, Luo Xi didn’t move at all.

Cheng Qing sighed, “Just now, I…”

But this startled Luo Xi, who turned to look at Cheng Qing with bright and alert eyes, clearly not sleepy at all.

“What do you want to say?” Luo Xi asked loudly, feeling challenged.

Cheng Qing grinned, “As expected, you weren’t asleep.”

Luo Xi couldn’t believe it and asked in surprise, “Are you testing me???”

Cheng Qing quickly suppressed her smile and pleaded, “No, I just wanted to apologize to you.”

Luo Xi fell silent immediately and mumbled, “What do you mean?”

Cheng Qing explained, “It’s just… I was a bit confused because of my illness just now, so I almost…”

Luo Xi interrupted, “Confused because of your illness? …Do you mean I’m not charming enough?”

Cheng Qing thought Luo Xi was joking, and she could easily pass off the impending kiss as a joke. It would be the best way to handle the situation.

But Cheng Qing still smiled gently, “No, your charm is more than enough. It’s too much.”

It was because of that overwhelming charm that Cheng Qing almost made a mistake in judgment, even though they had known each other for less than 200 hours.

Luo Xi made a soft hum beside her…

Cheng Qing laughed, and Luo Xi blushed and said angrily, “Stop laughing!!!”

Cheng Qing helplessly said, “Okay, I won’t laugh anymore. Let’s go to sleep, shall we!”
