Marriage Without Love

As I moved back towards the living room, Max grabbed my arm and faced me towards him.

"Stop walking away from me!" He looked hurt and angry as he spoke.

I couldnt think of what to say, so I stayed quiet, we have been married for 11 months, and I'm always around him, except when I'm at work.

"Do you hate me that much?" He looked almost as if he was about to cry.

"I dont hate you, I just, I'm not sure, things are weird for me.. I mean, were married! Two people who dont love eachother are married!" He stayed silent. I began to speak again "Look.. our parents made us get married. We never had a say."

He slowly let go of my arm after hearing me say that. "No. My parents were just doing me a favor." Then he walked back into the bedroom.

His parents were just doing him a favor? What did he mean by that?
