Marriage Without Love

Chapter 2 - My Day Alone... Almost...

"Finally! A day all to myself!" I sighed as I slouched back onto the couch. After 20 minutes of total relaxation I heard a door open.

"Halleluia! Thank the world for office renovations!" Max came into the apartment and slouched down onto the couch beside me.

Why me? I was so close to having a day alone!

"Hello?" Max said, I stopped thinking and processed what was happening around me, after regaining myself, I noticed that Max was right in front of me, "I came home and my own wife didnt say a word!" I stayed silent after he had said that. "Okay, how about this?" He stood up and left the apartment, what the heck? why did he just leave?

Then the door opened again, "Honey! I'm home!" I began to laugh at the level of stupidity he was portraying. "Hello, dear, how was work?" I said sarcastically. He sat beside me again, "It was okay, but I missed you!" He leaned in a little bit. "Yep, and I'm done with this."

I stood up and dropped the TV remote on his l.a.p, then I went to our room and began to read a book.

Max came into the room after me, "Hey! Come on! I was just messing around." He smiled at me, "Yeah well last time you were just 'messing around' you purposely got me drunk, and took advantage of me!" I put the book down and raised my voice as I spoke. "We are not in love, we are two people who are forced to live with eachother, and are not allowed to date other people!"

"You know, one day your gonna have to allow me to touch you, while your awake." Max frowned at me. "My parents are going to want grandchildren, and they will ask us one day."

I stared at him, it honestly felt like that could never happen. I stood up, "Well until they ask, I'm not even considering it." I got up, and walked out of the room.
