Marriage In Trouble

"We need to get out of this place!" I heard Calyx yelled beside me. He grabs my arm and we started crawling on our way to the back of the restaurant. Jillian was following us.

But we stop midway when we heard a couple of gunshots. Then Jillian screamed like she was being shot! I turned around and saw her frozen in front of a man who got shot in the head. She was staring and shaking at the same time.

I cursed then I grab her arm and slap her!

She stared at me while holding her right cheek. "Why the f.u.c.k did you slap me?"

"I need you to move. Now, move!" I yelled at her and push her towards Calyx. Calyx then looked at me.

"What are you doing?" he shouted. "You could---." another loud explosion cut him off from talking.

The place shakes and the ceiling is starting to collapse. I can feel the debris falling on to us but we didn't mind it as we crawl as fast as we could to get out. I can feel my adrenaline is rising, which is I've never felt for more than 2 or 3 years. It was like when I was with my friends every time we were asked to do something. The thing is, I was not scared before because I know I can defend myself with all the weapons I have. But now, I feel so useless and hopeless.

I am just thankful that my body is used to this kind of disaster. We were able to get out of the restaurant before it explodes once again. I was out of breath watching the explosion, and I can't believe that I was able to get out even without nothing.

"Are you okay?" I heard Calyx asked. He is holding my arms while looking at me intently. Worry is evident in his voice and I can see from his eyes that he is worried.

I forced to smile and nodded. "Where's Jillian?"

I know, I'm so pathetic. I should let Jillian die because she's a pain in the a.s.s and I don't like her at all. But here I am, worrying about her.

"I'm still f.u.c.k.i.n.g alive bitch!"

I laugh when I heard her answer. She's leaning against a car and she looks like a mess. Well, we all are. It just that, she almost out of clothes because her s.e.xy dress has been ripped off.

I gasped when Calyx suddenly hugs me. It totally surprises me. Even Ashley was surprised looking at us. She avoided her gaze and I can see how she was hurt by the sight in front of her.

I pushed Calyx away. I can feel my heart breaking into pieces because I don't like what I am about to say. I know, I have vowed to be always with him though he's hurting me. But what happened right now makes me realized that we're not meant to be together. This marriage is not good for us. It breaks us, and it makes me vulnerable.

If he started to grow his feelings for me, it was already too late.

I love him too much that I am ready to give up. Because I know, love is not the only thing that could make our marriage works.

"Nine, tell me if you're still alive." I heard Uno from the other line from my earbuds.

I sigh.

"Let's have a divorce, Calyx." I finally said.

"Oh, f.u.c.k.i.n.g shit!" Uno cursed before the line went dead.

Calyx looks shocked. He took a step backward. "What? Why?" He asked, confused.

I know this is not the perfect time and place to ask for a divorce, to end our marriage. But this is the only time that I am not afraid to let him go. This kind of situation taught me how to cut my personal life away from this. If I didn't say it now, I would never have a chance again.

"You can't.... No. I won't agree to it."

"Well, it doesn't matter. I am doing it." I turned my back from him and started to walk away but he immediately grabs my arm to stop me. I didn't look at him instead, I let go from his grip.

"I am breaking my own vow Calyx and you can't stop me anymore!"

What happened in the restaurant last week becomes the biggest headline in the whole country. It was actually a mess especially that no one catches the group of people who killed almost 2 dozens people. No one also knows about the reason why it happened. They think it was some terrorist but I beg to differ.

Kaiser, Uno, Lucien and I were working to find out the mastermind about the incident and while I was working on it, I was also processing my divorce papers.

Calyx actually didn't want to have a divorce with me, but Kaiser made him sign the paper in the end. I also didn't see him since last week and I chose not to see him. It was the best for us. Especially now that I am beginning to find the reason why there were a lot of CCTV cameras installed in our house.

"What did you found?" Uno asked Kaiser when he entered the room.

I look at Kaiser who is busy on his computer. I walked towards him to see what he's been doing. There are a lot of files he is opening at the same time. It contains a lot of interesting stuff but nothing caught our attention yet.

Then I saw one small file that caught my interest. "Wait!" I stop Kaiser and get the mouse from him.

I closed some of the files that are scattered on his screen and open the small folder with the name "Lockhorst" on it.

"What the..." Kaiser cursed as we both saw one file with my name on it. The crazy part is that my full name including my mother's maiden name and my code name was written as the name of the single doc.u.ment inside of the small file we found.

We tried to open the doc.u.ment but it was encrypted. Kaiser tried to do his magic tricks in hacking but it was not working. Kaiser even called my brothers to let them know about it and they also tried to open the doc.u.ment but they can't still open it.

Everyone in the room was already panicking. Because if someone knows my real name including my code name, it means we are already compromised. I am compromised.

The others didn't know about it yet and we decided not to tell them because we don't want to cause a ruckus. Aside from that, they also have a life outside of the secrecy that we are part of. We don't want them to worry and I don't want them to think that I cannot fix this mess.

But heck. I don't know what to do.

"I am sure that Kaiser is not the Lockhorst they are referring to this file because your name is on it, Nine." Uno said. He is sitting on the couch with a can of beer on his hands.

While Kaiser is standing and leaning to his work table and I am also standing in the middle of the room.

"I'll talk to Calyx." Kaiser suggested but I shake my head.

"I should be the one to talk to him, not you Kaiser." I bit the tip of my fingernail. I am actually shaking. There's already a conclusion in my head why we found a doc.u.ment under my name which is heavily encrypted. And I am starting to get scared.

Uno stood up and walk towards me. "Are you sure you can talk to him now you're getting your divorce final?" He put his hand on to my shoulder.

I nodded. Then I look at both of them. "But I have to talk to him secretly and I need both of your help."

Talking to Calyx is actually easy but talking to him about certain things is not easy. I need to talk to him while making sure that no one's been spying to both of us.
