Marriage In Trouble

"I can't believe you have an asshole cousin, Kaiser." Six commented. It's already Saturday and tonight will be the Gala.

Kaiser fetch us yesterday and went directly to his home. I was shocked to see Lucien, Ben, Dos, Uno and Seven waiting for us. Only Ifor and Zero was not around.

They are waiting for us and all of them are frustrated about what happened to me. However, I wasn't able to talk to them properly because their presence overwhelmed me.

"He's not really an asshole. He maybe has his reasons." Kaiser said defending his cousin.

"Tss. His reasons wouldn't save them both." Dos answered.

Yes, I understand that Calyx has his reasons but those reasons will be the one to destroy me. And Dos is right. Those reasons will not be able to save us both. We will end up hurting. Or I will just end up hurting alone. And that sucks.

"So what's the plan?" Fifth asked.

"Yes, what's the plan? We can't just stay here and do nothing." Lucien added. "Nine is the real and legal wife. We can't just let that Jillian stole it."

"I don't like the idea of Nine going there. Even if Jillian will stole it, she can never deny the legality of their marriage." Tres look at me when she said it. "You're too young for this shit, Nine. And this is not the kind of fight you'd like to deal with."

"But she's already dealing with it. She just needs to finish what has been started." Seven look at me. "You need to be there tonight. You need to find out the things you need to know. If you let them destroy you, then you just proved them that you're not worth it all."

"I'll try to ask Calyx about this thing." Kaiser was about to call Calyx but Lucien and Six stop him immediately.

"You're not the one who should do that." Six exclaimed. "Nine will do that not you, Kaiser. Even if you are his cousin, there are things that he can't share to you. You already tried that yesterday but did he answer? No! So you can't just call him and ask his reasons."

Kaiser sighed. "I just don't know what to do. He's my cousin. Even if I was disappointed with all of this things that is happening, I can't deny that I'm torn in this situation."

I shakes my head. "It's my fault so you don't need to take all this stress by yourself, Kaiser. I haven't so open about my life here and I thought I could handle this but I messed up."

"This kind of marrige is totally messed up. Even from the start. You haven't told us and now, this is what we found out." Seven exclaimed. I sighed.

I am totally lost. They are here to help me sort this out but I feel like I am paralyzed and can't even think straight at all. This marriage is not simple as what I imagine. I thought, it would easy to fight for something like this. Knowing we are already married. I thought, fighting this kind of battle would assure me that I would win it until the end.

But now, I am not sure. Especially when I found out that there are secrets why this marriage happened. And Calyx won't let me know about.

He married to save me. But from what? As far as I know, Calyx doesn't even know what kind of life I have.

Is it because of Uncle Brian? I don't think so. Uncle Brian only wants my inheritance. I could give it to him if he just asked me. And I know he wouldn't dare to go beyond his limits. He knows that he can't.

But he's the one who insist to make this marriage happened or else, everything that my parents invested will be lost. And since I don't have any idea how my family business works, I did what he said.

But why?

So what's the real reason of this marriage?

"So you're going to the party?" Uno asked. Still looking grim which is so odd knowing his personality.

I sighed and nodded. "Yeah. I guess, I need to go."

"No." Tres stood up and went to me. Tapped my back and smiled. "We're going together."

"Yeah. We can't let you fight this alone. We'll be right at your back." Dos seconded and smiled.

So I smiled back and nodded.

I wish nothing bad will happen tonight.
