Lyricist: Her Revenge

Chapter 98 - Story Uncle

Elle High School

Kids were being picked up by their parents. The school premises were in their busiest hours. Horns honking, crowds, noises, and yellings. No one noticed the tiny girl sitting all by herself on a bench of the park. She looked around with an adorable and chubby pout of her plump lips. Her school uniform was decorated by creases. Alas! Her Mumma was nowhere to be seen. Nor that story uncle showed up.

Very soon, gradual footsteps could be heard walking towards the girl. The girl lifted up her tiny head and she broke into a smile. Oh! Her story uncle was here! She stood up. D.K. couldn't conceal his smile when he saw the smile on her face, bright like a ray of sunshine. After all, blood relationsh.i.p.s mattered. He could tell very clearly that Miracle looked like her Mumma when she smiled.

He squatted down in front of her and the little girl's smile grew bigger. D.K. smiled, "Where is your Mumma?"

"She hadn't shown up yet", the girl shook her head.

D.K. nodded as he remembered Amy burying her nose into the laptop screen. She had been very busy lately, because of the upcoming project regarding the Olympics.

"Shall I take you to your Mumma?" D.K. passed her his phone, "Here, give her a call."

The girl looked at him with his bubbly eyes. D.K. asked, "Do you know her number?"

The girl shook her head. D.K. siled, "Okay, I will help you get her number from the school register."

That's because he was not sure if she had changed numbers over the years. The girl nodded and led him inside to meet the principal.

The principal was an old lady and immediately recognized D.K. After all, he was a first-class lawyer with a highly garnered reputation. She flashed him flashy grin. She leaned towards Miracle and asked, "Is he your Daddy?"

"Yes--", D.K. wanted to say, but he was cut off by Miracle.

"No", she shook her head and smiled, "He is my story uncle."

"Oh, does he tell you stories?" the principal was delighted. The girl nodded in response.

"Ma'am", D.K. finally spoke, "She wants to call her Mumma. But she doesn't know her number."

"Ah! That's fine. I will find it in the phone book. Miracle, you go and stand by the telephone."

"Go", D.K. nudged Miracle and she moved towards the tiny phone booth. She went ahead and stood there like an obedient child. D.K. smiled st her and she smiled back.

The principal was soon back with a thick book. She smiled at Miracle but she lost her balance, carrying such a heavy book. D.K. rushed forward and steadied her and then took the book from her hands.

"Ma'am", D.K. gave her a forced smile, "You shouldn't carry such heavy books. After all, you are an old lady now."

"Old lady? Me?" the old lady slapped his hands away and took the book away as she placed it on the table, "Are you kidding?"

"Here", the old lady walked up to Miracle and showed her the number. Miracle quickly tapped on the numbers and dialed. It rang a number of times before she responded, "Hello? Mumma?"
