Lyricist: Her Revenge

Amy just walked out of the washroom when she received a message. The message was short & urgent.

"Heading to my NGO, Little Hearts. Police raided. Child trafficking. D.K."

Amy humphed before heading out. She soon hailed a taxi & called D.K. & said in a mechanical voice, "Head towards the outskirts, Little Hearts. Your presence is needed."

"Why do you need me?", the voice carried a trace of smile & self-mockery.

"I don't need you", Amy added sternly & hung up. On the other end, D.K. was left smiling foolishly.

Little Hearts

Alice jumped out of the taxi as soon as she saw the commotion outside the gates of Little Hearts. Nanko & his fellow boys were trying very hard to stop the police from entering the gates. The young children, the older kids & the helpers were standing at the gate, frozen. As soon as they saw her, they pushed open the gate & ran towards Alice's arms. They began crying while Alice had a hard time comforting them.

"Angel, they are trying to harm us", a young boy, merely of 5, wearing a tee & shorts, cling onto her.

"Angel, we love you. They don't understand us", a little girl with two pigtails, pouted & opened her arms wide.

"Angel, you care for us. They are fake", a teen boy stood beside her. Alice was helpless & she tried comforting them with hugs & pats.

"Can't you see how much they love Sis?" Nanko yelled at the young police officer, "How can you say that we're linked with child trafficking?"

Even the locals had come out to support her. They trusted her more than they trusted their own selves.

"She has been taking care of the kids, feeding them & paying for them all these years!" a middle-aged woman yelled.

"Do you see anyone malnourished?"

"You know, Nicco?", one of the helpers spoke, "He is from this NGO?"

The young officer was dumbfounded, "Nicco?"

Was he not his classmate & a best friend?

"You can call him if you want", Alice spoke out emotionlessly from behind. The officer turned to look at her.

Inside the police van

The young superintendent, in his late twenties, sat there, observing Alice clearly. He was impressed by her calm face. Her eyes revealed nothing. This woman was interesting. He actually found this woman interesting. He was intrigued. His interest was piqued. Seeing her from afar was not enough. So, he got down & headed towards them.

Meanwhile, the police officer had called Nicco. He already had his phone number.

"Hello? Nicco?"

"Yes, it's me."

"Nope. Can you come to Little Hearts?"

"I'm serious!"

"Come quickly."

The police officer hung up, "He's coming."

Very soon, two more cars filled the space; from one got down Amy & the other, D.K. Amy immediately rushed towards Alice, "What happened?"

"Is something the matter?", D.K. was also worried.

"I think I'll handle it", Alice smiled smugly.

"How?", D.K. frowned.

"Wait & watch", Alice smiled.

"Whatever", Amy was a bit annoyed by D.K.'s presence, "Do it quickly. You've to attend the music launch tonight."

Very soon, a sturdy man came & stood by them. His presence was huge. The young officer saluted him. But, he only had eyes for Alice, "Looks like you're honest after all."

Alice raised her head a little & her eyes face the s.e.xy Adam's apple of the man. She locked her eyes on him & said, "The situation will prove everything." Her voice was emotionless & she wore a blank expression. She soon looked away.

Moments later, an Alto 800 drove in. A young boy, in his late teens, descended from the car. He smiled when he saw Alice. He greeted her happily, "Sis."

Alice smiled when she allowed herself to be pulled into a hug, "Long time no see, old boy."

"What's the commotion about, Rocky?" he asked the young officer.
