Alice was sleeping soundly. But she suddenly winced in pain. Her stomach was hurting again. What she knew was that she'd a food poisoning. It's not that people around her were starving!

CRE-AKKK!!!

The door of the room suddenly opened with a creak of its hinges. She scrunched her brows softly. Maybe, Daniel came to check on her. If he saw that she was still up, he might be worried. So, she closed her eyes.

Soon she fell the bed near her legs go down a little. She held her breath.

"Sorry, Alice!", a female voice was heard.

What!? Why the hell is the woman here?

Alice gulped & her heart skipped a beat. It then started beating wildly.

"It was because of me...", the woman spoke again, "you were poisoned."

What?! Why?!

Her eyes nearly popped out of her sockets.

"I wanted you to stay near me a little longer", the woman spoke again.

Why? Why? What the hell?

Dozens & dozens of question marks hung above her head.

"I missed your childhood years."

Huh?

"I left you after you were born. Forgive me if you can."

What? Alice felt her world shuttering.

"It's true that your Dad died because of me. Trust me, I was blinded by revenge back then."

Is she out of mind? Is she sleepwalking? Talking in her dreams?

"It's true that I tried killing you too. But, after that, my facade cracked. My motherly instincts arose again."

Was it the truth? Is she really...my Mom? Revenge? Murderer?

"I'm sorry!", her voice cracked at her words.

The next moment she felt a soft, warm hand c.a.r.e.s.s her head. Even her tears threaten to fall.

If the woman was randomly spewing nonsense, she would have believed that she was a sleepwalker & sleep talker. But, this woman spoke about her Dad, of revenge, of her childhood, of her attack!

The next moment, the woman left the room. Alice released her breath heavily & sat up.

Whatever the woman spoke just now, was that true?

The next morning

Olivia's called by Old Master Million in his military office. She was scared out of her wits. Really, she was going through the worst of her luck.

First, Jake never returned that night which the main apple of discord between her and the old man. After all, his favorite grandson was hurt because of her.

Second, Eddie disappeared without a trace. She suspected that Eddie might have run away with him.

Third, Grandpa paid a visit to make sure Jake had returned. Moreover, she had relevantly lied to him only to realize he was waiting to meet his grandson downstairs.

Fourth, she was called to the military detention camp without prior notice by this old man.

When she reached his office, he was surrounded by uniformed soldiers by all sides. Even though old lines had formed on his forehead, the old man was in a strong built. Even though he suffered a heart attack a few days back, he was stunning as ever.

"Grandpa, I...", Olivia stammered.

"Shut up!"

Olivia jumped back in horror. What made the old man that angry?!

"What's the meaning of all these?", the old man pressed a button on a remote & a video started playing on the screen beside them.

Alice stretched out her hands over her head & cracked her knuckles after sending some videos to a certain old man. She was in a foul mood since last night. Even, Daniel couldn't bring the girl to say what was on her mind. He had asked her quite a few times, but all in vain. Finally, Jake intervened, "Hey, Threat Queen! What's up?"

"Jake, I'm not in the right mood", Alice replied sternly.

"Common. If you're upset about something, you can tell us", Jake spoke as he glanced over at Daniel & he nodded in unison.

"Nope. I can keep it to myself", Alice bared her monsty fangs.

She moved out to the balcony & heaved a sigh. Then, she opened her Instagram. She saw that Catherine had followed her & so she followed her back. Very soon, a red dot appeared on her tagged photos. She saw that Cath had tagged her in the selfie that day. Luckily, she had edited the pic to remove the bandaged area.

Cath captioned it, "Made a great friend for life...xoxo ❤❤ @Daddy's_girl_alice"

A little smiled appeared on her face. She scrolled down the comments section.

"As I said, someone needs to change girlfriends."

"Beauties!"

"Marry me!"

"I'm drooling 🤤"

"I'm crawling on my bathroom floor, right now!"

"Alice! Please! Upload one from your side, too."

Finally, Alice decided to add a comment from her official account.
