Loving A Triple Threat

Chapter 44 - The Same Question

Sena asked his friends, "Is she okay?"

Hyuk sighed, "Yes, for the millionth time." The three boys were standing in the alleys between Daeil and the shopping district.

Sena paced, "But, you didn't see what happened?"

"No, we only heard," Hyuk replied, "we would've stood up for Gi too."

"Do you know if anyone has video?" Sena asked.

"Sena," Seok said, "why are you so obsessed with Gi? She has a boyfriend. Let her go." He pleaded.

Sena looked pained, "I can't. I tried. But I can't stop thinking about her. And, if I wasn't obsessing over her I …," he interrupted himself, looked at the ground and then back up to Seok, "Look. I know it's stupid, but looking out for her makes me feel good. Okay. So just put up with it."

"Okay," Seok agreed, "we will help you. I'm not very good at this stuff though."

"Like basketball?" Sena teased.

Hyuk laughed, "He might be on the bench all the time, but he is much better than when we used to play together."

"How so?" Sena asked.

Hyuk patted Seok on the head, "His passing is spot on and as you know he has a good brain. He'd make a good general if the coach would only give him a chance."

"What?" Sena said, "Why won't the coach give you a go Seok? Surely you weren't disrespectful!" And both Sena and Hyuk laughed at the idea of Seok being disrespectful.

Seok was coy, he didn't want to voice the reason. He kicked the pavement without uttering a word.

"The coach wants tall players," Hyuk said, "Seok is the shortest so he doesn't fit into the coach's idea of a starter or even a six."

"Send me the coach's info and write a report. I will see what I can do," Sena said.

Seok was aghast, "Sena! He's a teacher."

Sena laughed, "If he hasn't done anything wrong then he has nothing to worry about. And do what you did last time. That two-page report on Joon was perfect. Treat it like a school assignment."

Seok didn't look convinced but he nodded his agreement.

Sena changed the subject back to his favourite, "I want to know about the guys who caused her gay friend to go ape."

"Jordan never fit in with them," Seok said.

Sena stated, "I can tell it upset Gi that he was bashed. So, it's not just the crap they talked about her."

Seok looked surprised, "How can you tell?"

Sena looked sheepish and he pulled out a second phone while putting his first away. "I have this," he said mysteriously.

Seok peered closely at the phone, "Why do you need two phones? Is it work related?"

Sena chuckled, "No, this is a clone of Ren's phone."

Seok and Hyuk exchanged looks of surprised terror. And after a mere moment, their terror was replaced with curiosity.

"Show me," Hyuk requested, "what's he saying on it. You know he was there right?"

Sena's eyes bulged. "So that's what that meant. He was there." He showed the texts in question where Gi asked him if he had the chance to stop Jordan would he have done so.

Sena smiled, "Follow me." He said and began to walk south down the alley while watching the cloned phone. After two blocks he called a halt at the end of the alley where it met a larger street.

He leaned with his back up against an eastern wall. "Hyuk," Sena ordered, "Stand there and face back up the street." Sena hitched his thumb pointing east. He checked the phone again and smiled.

Both Hyuk and Seok looked confused, especially since Seok hadn't received instructions where to stand.

"Ok, you need to do two things. Wait. Seok, get down on your hands and knees at my feed."

Seok would have protested if anyone else asked him to do this.

"Okay two things. When you see Ren, call him over. As soon as I say - get out of here – you look scared and run. Got it?"

Hyuk looked confused so Sena repeated the instructions.

Within a minute Hyuk saw Ren walking up the street and with a nod from Ren he called him over. Ren could not see Sena, he was hidden by the wall. And as soon as he rounded the corner Sena grabbed him and said harshly, "Now get out of here."

The two boys ran.

Sena smacked Ren over the head with an open palm. "You, don't run, or I'll have my boys chase you down."

"You!" Ren exclaimed as soon as he recognised Sena.

"Yes me." Sena snarled.

"Boys?" Ren quizzed looking around.

"Ren, we can do this the easy way, or we can do this the hard way. It's your choice," Sena said calmly.

Ren thought for a moment only before replying, "Let's try easy and see what happens."

Sena ruffled his collar and cheeks with the back of his hand. A physical threat on a nonviolent person was effective especially when their imagination did most of the work. Between his tattoo and demeanour, the message was clearly communicated; Sena was a violent person with the potential to do great harm.

While Sena wasn't violent, when compared to most gang members, he wasn't above using the threat of violence to get the job done.

"Now Ren. I'm disappointed in you," Sena lectured like a father. "It's your job to stand up for Gi, not some gay dance kid. Are you a man?" Sena peered into Ren's eyes, their noses almost touching.

"I … I … yes," Ren replied.

Sena shook his head. "You were there. Why didn't you stand up for Gi?"

"Because there were eleven of them," Ren replied.

"You counted?" Sena was surprised that Ren counted that many in a chaotic event.

"No, there are only twelve feeders and Jordan is one of them," Ren replied.

Sena nodded at the logic, "Okay. Now we can't change the past, but if you are going to stay in Gi's life you're going to have to pick up your game."

Ren looked confused, "What are you - her guardian angel?"

Sena shook his head, showed his tat, "This is my turf and Miss Reyn is part of my domain. If any funny business happens its bad for business get it?"

It made absolutely no sense. Ren nodded in agreement anyway.

Sena said seriously, "Now you are going to get me the names and all the details on those eleven heroes. Got it?"

"Okay," Ren said a little confused. "But." He hesitated. "Why don't you get your friends to do it?"

"My friends?" Sena asked.

"Hyuk and Seok, you know them, right?"

'Shit,' Sena sword to himself. They didn't tell him that Ren knew they were friends. Sena then laughed out loud.

Ren looked more confused and afraid of Sena, he was acting crazy.

"It's that plans are crap when you don't have all the facts," Sena said mysteriously. He thought that Ren may work it out later.

"Okay, so I …" Ren began.

"Just give the names to Seok. He's good at this sort of thing and you're probably crap," Sena stated.

Ren nodded and asked, "Is that it?"

"No," Sena said. "What does 'insurance policy' mean?"

"Eh?" Ren stammered, "Do you mean when you get a policy on a car and if it smashes they take care of it?"

Sena shook his head. "You texted your brother something cryptic about Gi and an insurance policy."

Sena burned his trump card. The fact he had cloned Ren's phone. He held it up and showed Ren the text. But he was suspicious of this text and Ren was sure to catch one soon. Especially after today.

"That's!" Ren exclaimed.

"Yes, I have seen all your dirty texts. Every boring email. Everything since the day we bumped into each other."

"Holy!" Ren was beside himself. He didn't know what to think. "I have your name. I can report …"

Sena grabbed him by the throat. "I can easily add texts to this phone. And incriminate you in the Joon kidnapping. Now ask yourself. Someone capable of extorting a billionaire, stealing his Lambo. A person capable of these things. What could they do to you?"

Ren gulped.

"Tell me what it means, or I will have to take preventative measures," Sena said threateningly.

Ren gulped again, "It's about a role. If I don't get it, we have a plan b. We will announce my relationship to Gi on snap chat despite what YG want."

Sena shook his head. "Ren, Ren, Ren, Ren, you will do no such thing. If you need help I will help if I can. But you will never use Gi in this way. Do you hear me?"

Sena held out his hand, "Give me your phone."

Ren looked afraid to give Sena even more access. But when Sena didn't budge he eventually complied.

Sena installed an app. "Don't delete this app. If you need me, text me on this app and we can work out a plan – and if I can help."

"Why are you doing this for me?" Ren asked bewildered at why a rival would offer help.

Sena stared at Ren, "I'm asking myself the same question." Sena took the clone, threw it on the ground and stomped it.

"Don't change phones or I will need to reinstall that app," Sena ordered.
