Loving A Triple Threat

Chapter 33 - The Fortunate Man

"You got the tickets?" Sena asked Seok.

Seok showed him his phone, he had three e-tickets to the school play.

"Eww," Sena stated, "Where is row EE?"

"Like the back," Seok said, "these tickets weren't cheap."

"Come on," Sena said running, "let's see if there's a scalper out front."

Hyuk ran after Sena immediately.

Seok shook his head and muttered, "A scalper? At Some Sevit?" They were getting away. He ran after them.

When he caught up, Seok bent placed his hands on his knees and breathed heavily. "How – will – you – be able to – tell – if a person is a – scalper."

Sena looked at Seok, and then at Hyuk who shrugged. Neither of them was out of breath. "Geez Seok, get fit dude." Sena said and then he looked at Hyuk, "Seok look at Hyuk, look at how fit he is. How can you expect to keep a girl like Misha when you're weak as piss?"

Hyuk was proud of the praise at first, until he realised he didn't keep Suzie either. Both of them were dumped soon after the party weekend. The best weekend of his life.

"Seok," Sena stated and he began looking, "The scalpers are always between the main foot traffic and the front door, and they look like that guy." Sena pointed to a youth who was not dressed like all the a.d.u.l.ts and stood out like a sore thumb.

Sena approached him with his two friends in tow.

"Whatcha got?" Sena asked.

"These," he pulled out a stack of tickets for tonight's performance.

"How much for three in front row?" Sena asked.

"That's a set of four, I ain't splitting," the scalper replied.

Sena shrugged, "Just name the price man. We ain't go all day."

"A million won," the scalper said. (880USD)

Sena pulled down his shirt at the neck showing his tattoo and the scalper yelped.

"Ok man," the scalper said, "700k won is the best I can do for you."

Sena nodded, and pulled out his phone, "Bitcoin?"

"Sure," the scalper replied and Sena sent him 0.17 of a bitcoin after exchanging details. Prime liked using cryptocurrencies by virtue that they were encrypted and could not be traced by the government or financial institutions.

Seok and Hyuk stared at Sena in disbelief.

"Sena?" Hyuk said. He sounded like he was coming out of shock.

"Huh?" was all Seok could manager.

They walked up the stairs, Seok's tickets were now useless. They were going to sit in the front row.

"How? Seok finally asked, until recently Sena would bum dinner off them so he wouldn't starve.

"Work," Sena replied.

"700k won of work?" Hyuk asked incredulously.

"Sure," Sena said nonchalantly, "my work is good."

Hyuk looked at Seok and they both looked worried, shocked and amazed at the same time. Their faces played instruments of emotions as lips, cheeks, eyes and eyebrows moved to a symphony of confused delight.

Hyuk ended it by shrugging and declaring, "Okay," before following Sena inside.

The three sat through the play, they didn't expect it to be enjoyable, it was a play after all. But the girls they loved or l.u.s.ted after were all in it.

Misha noticed them in the front row first, the actors couldn't see much past the first row but when Seok laughed she recognized him immediately and she broke character momentarily as that recognition was communicated with her eyes and a smile.

Sena leaned into Seok, nudging him and encouraging, "You're a good looking rooster Seok, even if you don't realise it. Fix your hair properly and go after her. Don't give up so easily."

"Fix my hair?" Seok whispered back.

"Listen to all the advice and stop worrying about the one thing," Sena said. "Look. You know some girls place importance on a man's hair?"

Seok nodded dutifully, he did now.

Sena explained, "It's style, neatness, or whatever, it needs to work even if its a structured mess. Misha is one of those who places an importance on hair."

"How do you know! You barely met her for a few minutes and you know more than me!" Seok exclaimed.

"At the café, she made a face when looking at Hyuk's hair the first time." Sena explained.

"That's it? You base your assumption on just one look?" Seok queried.

"Am I wrong? Fix your hair and ask her." Sena ordered.

They watched another scene before he continued in a harsh whisper. "And be a man - never give in. She will be your girlfriend," Sena stated confidently.

Intermission arrived and they lounged in the front row, not wanting to move.

"What about me?" Hyuk asked.

"Do you like Suzie, or is it that she is hot and you want her?" Sena asked.

"There's a difference?" Hyuk asked honestly.

"Sure, she can sense it," Sena replied lounging back in his chair with his foot on the stage. "You better be giving the I want you vibe and not the I want to f.u.c.k you vibe."

"Is your advice that good though?" Hyuk questioned. "You know. If you can't get Gi?"

Sena whirled on his friend, Gi was his weakness and he loved her desperately. He was about to yell at Hyuk but no words came. So he sat back down in his seat and fumed for a minute.

"You're right," he admitted finally as people started to come back to their seats. "I let her go Hyuk. I stopped texting her. I'm no good for her and we all know it."

"YG would never approve you," Seok said sadly.

Sena sighed, "Like that would stop me - No, I stop me - Only me."

"What're you going to do then," Seok asked in concern.

"I guess I'll be single. Maybe a one night stand here and there, but single isn't bad."

His friends looked at him like he was crazy, single was the worst thing in the world.

Gi's Parents sat with her brother and sister in another section, far from the boys, in the middle of the audience.

Her mother was smiling and her father was crying, "She is sooo good," he said for the fifteenth time in forty minutes.

Tae-Woo her brother elbowed his father, "Shh, you're embarrasing us."

Da-Hye, Gi's sister elbowed her brother, "Only you would find a father loving his daughter embarrassing."

"Bah, she's your favourite too!" Tae-Woo protested.

"Little brother," Da-Hye patronised, "we should all support our sister. She has chosen the hardest road of all."

Tae-Woo was twenty, and his older sister who was close to finishing medical school before her internship, was twenty-two. It was less than two years, but she loved calling him little brother like it was a ten year gap.

Her Father said softly, "So good." And was rewarded with an exaggerated sigh from Tae-Woo.

A man tapped the Master Chef on the shoulder from behind and asked softly, "Is that your daughter?"

Hae-Sup, Gi's father, turned halfway in his seat and replied, "Yes. Miss Gi Reyn is my daughter." He beamed.

"You're a fortunate man," stated the billionaire before he leaned back into his seat.

Hae-Sup turned back to watch his daughter and thought about all his hard work to pay for his children's studies. The mounting debt. It all paled into insignificance. Even if they lost their home and had to move to the country.

He was a fortunate man.
