Loving A Triple Threat

Chapter 32 - Dispelling Dread

Their tiny wings flapped furiously, as the butterflies soared and dived within Gi's c.h.e.s.t. Opening night was tomorrow, it was the first of three performances. The opening was to take place on Friday night and then two more on Saturday, one matinee and the finale on Saturday evening.

She closed her eyes and wished herself to time travel directly to the after-party late Saturday night.

"Breath," Ren said encouragingly. "It's just me, you and no one else."

Gi nodded, she wondered how he perceived she was feeling a bout of nerves. He must be in tune with her.

She smiled bravely and finished the dress rehearsal, putting in her best performance. She had worked into her performance all the small things that Ms Ling and Mr Head advised. She felt everything was gelling and she hoped she didn't get nerves on opening night.

A sense of foreboding appeared from nowhere. It was a small, dark cloud of dread building inside her gut. It had replaced the butterflies.

"Well done," Ms Ling and Mr Head stood and applauded the entire cast for a full two minutes. They both gave inspiring speeches, building up the students' confidence. To Gi it was obvious they were doing their job and it meant little. The real test was tomorrow night in front of the capacity crowd at Sevit Some. Where the wealthy and powerful family, friends and associates of Branksome Hall and Daeil would be in attendance.

Gi ran off the stage, she ran to the backdrop ropes and grabbed one. Using it to steady herself she bent over holding her stomach with her other hand, as she was felt the dread rising. There would be hundreds of people in the audience. They had all seen her photo with the camel toe. And her parents would be there, her brother who was studying to be a lawyer, and her sister who was in medical school. They would all be there.

She felt a hand on her shoulder. It slowly stroked from her shoulder down her back, and then repeated the action a second and third time.

"Let's go to the park, the one with the pond. We can sit and relax," Ren said softly as if he was calming a wild animal.

Gi stood, nodded once and turned slowly to Ren. "I don't know why I feel this way. Do you think I will be ok?"

He smiled and nodded, "You just need to hold your head high and be you Gi. Even one of your poor performances will be well received."

She smiled, it was an odd reassurance. But it made her feel better.

"The selfie?"

He took her hand and began walking in the direction of the big park. He must have known exactly what she meant, he didn't ask for clarification.

"None of this crowd knows about your selfie, they're all over forty!" He laughed.

He was right, older people didn't get the same trending even if they were on facebook.

They walked in silence, it was dark, but the park was well lit, it was cool, but not cold. A light breeze swept through, and the dark surface of the pond caught the light as it rippled.

Instead of claiming the bench seat, they walked down the incline closer to the water and sat on the grass which was overlooking the pond.

Ren threw a single rock in, that he presumably had sat on.

"How can you be so calm?" She asked as she lay back, propping herself up on a single elbow.

"I don't think about it," he replied. He thought for a moment and added, "I mainly think about you." And then he laughed.

It was contagious, and Gi couldn't help herself, she laughed despite how she was feeling. It made her think of something, she grabbed her phone and checked, it wasn't too late in the evening, not yet. And tomorrow she would take half the day off before the play and only attend school in the morning.

"They still haven't added you," she said as she checked her facebook.

"Who? What?" Ren asked.

Gi looked slightly crossed and replied, "The YG mod, I can't change my status or add you as a boyfriend on facebook. They need to do it."

She sighed heavily before adding, "I didn't know it was going to be this difficult when I agreed."

Ren laughed, "That's what you get for being their premium prospect. Their next idol."

He rolled over to look her in the eyes. They lay facing each other in the grass with only a foot separating them. "That sort of thing doesn't matter to me anymore," he said softly, a curl of his blonde hair straying onto his forehead. "I'm just happy to be your boyfriend. What will be will be."

He said the last, as he flopped onto his back to look up at the stars. The city lights diminished their value, but they were still beautiful on a clear night.

They both lay on their backs staring up into the sky. He took her hand in his and held it. And they just looked at the stars in silence.

The leaves rustle in the breeze, a frog could be heard, and in the distance, the noises of the city were barely audible.

It was tranquil.

Time moved slowly, they just breathed, held each other's hands and tried not to think about opening night

She sighed.

"You will be great. I know it's easy to say, but don't think. Just do," Ren advised.

She propped herself up on her side again and sidled over towards his. He could feel one of her legs sliding on top of his.

"I think your legs are your best asset," he said as he felt her shapely appendage rub against him.

She laughed softly. "I think your eyes are yours."

He turned his head to face her. She was so close he could feel her breath. "Not my lips?" he asked cheekily and closed his eyes as if he was demanding her to kiss him.

She giggled and rewarded him for all his help.

Gi slid her arm over his side, pulling him that last inch towards her, she could feel his c.h.e.s.t against hers as she kissed him. He was passive, just enjoying her curves and the wetness of her lips.

He let her kiss and cuddle him in her gentle way for a few minutes before he slid his hand around her back and onto her curvaceous, firm b.u.t.t.o.c.k.s.

He squeezed, her curves were so s.e.xy it was pleasurable just imagining them in the dark and squeezing. If her legs were her best asset, her b.u.t.t.o.c.k.s was a close second.

She let out a surprised chirp as he squeezed. Gi decided to return the favour and grabbed Ren's shapely behind. It was plump and squeezable. Ren didn't do twenty hours of dance practice a week. Or yoga. Or jiu-jitsu.

She rolled on top of him, straddling him, her hair hanging down onto his face. He brushed it aside and laughed.

"I like your hair … but …" he teased.

She smashed her lips into his. It was dark, and she was tempted to take it further. Although public displays of affection and certainly public s.e.x were too much for her. She felt safe in the darkness of the park and not one person had passed in forty minutes.

She stopped kissing him after a minute and began to unbutton his shirt. He started laughing softly. But, after she got three undone he stopped her. "That's enough," he said and when she looked confused he added, "You wanted to kiss my c.h.e.s.t?"

She shook her head and he looked shocked.

"Here?" he asked in disbelief.

She shrugged.

He laughed so hard it made her feel self-conscious.

"I can't believe I'm going to turn down the best offer I've ever had in my life," he said in disbelief. It was as confusing to him as it was to her, "But we have to think of tomorrow night. If we got caught, it would be disastrous." He asked cheekily at the last, "Raincheck?"

She gawked at him for a second. Rejected for the second time in her life. But after a moment's clear thought she smiled, "Raincheck." She agreed and began to kiss his c.h.e.s.t. It was taut and the skin smooth.

He stroked her hair as she kissed him. Nothing could remove the smile from his face.

Not even the noisy late-night runners.

Gi heard them as well. She had dodged a bullet. She imagined rolling in the grass, Ren's d.i.c.k in her, thirty feet from half a dozen runners. And her mind blew. Her l.u.s.t dissipated.

She flopped back onto her back and tried to focus on the stars again.

Ren sidled up to her and looped his arm around hers. The side of his leg touching hers.

"You know how to drive a man crazy," was all he said.
