Loving A Triple Threat

Chapter 2 - The Policeman

They wandered through the shops for ten minutes before Hyuk read a text and panicked, "Seok, we need to get out of here. Bye Gi." He said quickly before running down the lane.

Seok read his phone quickly and added, "Oh shit. Miss Gi, please don't tell on me," he pleaded, before running after his friend.

She stood there, suddenly abandoned, and wondered what the hell just happened. She could hear a buzzing from inside her bag. She opened it and retrieved her phone which was always on silent due to the rules.

It was not a number she recognized. And her friends never called, they would text or snap or something, never call.

"Hello?" She said carefully, a second after hitting the green icon.

"Miss Reyn! Are you ok?" A man said.

"Um, yes or no. I'm not sure. Am I?"

"Where are you?" The man asked.

"They left me at the shops. Who're you?" She asked.

"I'm sorry I should have identified myself, I am Principal Wang. Listen, describe where you are, and I will direct the police."

If her world wasn't turned upside down before it sure was now. Gi stood alone and afraid, not sure what was happening. After ten minutes two tall police officers arrived. She wasn't sure if they looked angry or if this was their normal serious look. Whatever it was, it wasn't friendly.

"Miss?" the first officer said, before looking at his phone, and then back at her face, "Gi Reyn?"

She nodded meekly. She was tall, but these police officers made her feel small. They were well over six foot.

"I am Officer Ruek, please come with me," he said and threw a blanket over her shoulder. It was a bright silver covered sheet, and it felt metallic on the outside, but the inside was some sort of felt material which was soft to the touch.

Gi wrapped the blanket around her shoulders, as he wanted.

She followed behind Officer Ruek, and she couldn't help thinking about how handsome he was. His short dark hair was cut perfectly, not a single hair was out of place. His face was symmetrical, and his eyebrows were neat, extremely neat for a man. But that wasn't what attracted her to him. He had a strong presence which made her feel immediately safe. Even if they were attacked by twenty criminals, she was with Officer Ruek, who would surely protect her.

Her mind wandered, as she walked behind him, to his strong legs, and firm b.u.t.t.o.c.k.s right in front of her face.

They abruptly arrived at their destination, and he simply ordered, "In," as the back door of the police car opened. They were only a short walk from the school, it was strange to get into a vehicle for such a short trip.

The two officers got into the front and drove slowly towards the school. They watched every person they passed carefully as if they were looking for something, or someone.

"What's going on?" She asked.

"Miss," Officer Ruek replied, "Please hold your statement until you are with our superior. You're safe, and that is all Officer Wespec, and I, were charged to accomplish."

Gi suddenly felt silly for crushing on Officer Ruek, he was just doing his job and only saw her as a child that needed protecting.

"Am I in trouble?" she asked softly.

Officer Ruek turned to look at her and asked seriously, "Have you done anything wrong?"

"No!" she exclaimed knowing that she probably had, but none of it was her doing except for standing up for herself, which really wasn't a bad thing other than being disrespectful, but Ms Moon said the nastiest things, so surely she should stand up for herself. The students were always told that you have to be tough to make it, and then they were punished for being tough. It didn't make any sense to Gi.

All of these emotions and thoughts must have played across Gi's face as Officer Ruek stared at her with his kind eyes. He was so damn attractive, she would probably tell him anything.

"Miss Reyn," he said officiously, "If ... that's the case, then you are not in trouble." He seemed to place a little too much emphasis on the "if" from Gi's point of view.

Officer Ruek turned to face the front. He was watching through the windows again. Gi was thankful, she couldn't withstand his intensity for much longer.

The police car pulled into the main campus via a circular driveway, which was usually restricted for special guests or very important people. Students scuttled out of the way and then stopped on the grass to gawk. Gi knew they had extra classes to attend, but they were only interested in the spectacle surrounding her. So much so, they braved the wrath of their special tutors.

Classes after four o'clock were costly, for an already costly private school. Parents in Korea invested heavily in education, more than any other country in the world, even Japan. After normal school finished at four o'clock, students would attend special classes based on their weaknesses, specialties or parental d.e.s.i.r.es.

Gi attended Dance, Singing and Acting lessons. As long as she maintained an A during normal classes, she was permitted to pursue her childhood dream of becoming an idol.

Branksome Hall was chosen specifically because it was the host of the YG Entertainment feeder Academy. Officially it was the YG Academy, but all the students called it feeder because it wasn't the proper YG trainee program.

In her first year, Gi received a scholarship for the YG Academy from YG Entertainment itself, but as she grew taller, her coordination suffered as a result. She failed the audition for the current year and her parents had to pay.

Her Parents weren't rich, especially when considering her older Brother was attending law school and her older sister was in med school. They were in massive debt to fund their children's education. Gi didn't know the numbers, but she was sure they were horrifying, which only added to her guilt when she didn't achieve the scholarship.

The car stopped in front of a gathering of school administrators, the Principal, Ms Ling and Ms Moon. There were also official looking men who Gi had never seen before.

The officers got out and opened her door, and she felt important for a moment until she saw the stares from her Teachers Ms Ling and Ms Moon. She then felt less important and more in dire need of rescue.

She suddenly felt the presence of Officer Ruek behind her, she could feel his strength enveloping her as if it was a spiritual blanket instead of the metallic one which she still wore.

The Principal rushed forward, "Oh Miss Reyn, I'm so sorry this happened to you." He gave her a hug, which was very strange. Normally she would bow deeply to the Principal, and he would never touch her or any student.

She took a step back when he let her go and bowed deeply her head almost touching her knees, "I'm sorry for the trouble that has been caused." She said genuinely.

"Oh Miss Reyn. No. No. You are such a good student to apologise when you are the victim." He turned and addressed the gathering. "What happens next inspector now that we have our student back safely?"

A serious man stepped forward, "A statement from Miss Reyn, and she may assist us with finding the accomplices if her guardians permit. The juvenile in custody will be transported to a facility soon."

Her mind began to spin at the events as they unfolded. What the serious inspector was saying, what her principal was saying was all wrong. Somehow they saw her as a victim, which could only mean one thing. Sena had orc.h.e.s.trated this whole incident, he had created a narrative as if he was a director in a play and all the a.d.u.l.ts were his actors.

Gi was genuinely amazed until she realised the cost for Sena. She was in a little bit of trouble when she talked back to Ms Moon. Now he was in a world of trouble just to get her off.

She hung her head while water collected in her eyes. The unbelievable act that he did for her was … it was … heroic.

And stupid.
