Loving A Triple Threat

Chapter 12 - The Party 1

The three rivals from Branksome sat in the back of Hyundai SUV.

Suzie Kim, Misha Kay and Gi Reyn. They competed on a daily, weekly and yearly basis and were all stars of the YG feeder Academy. Which didn't mean a lot, the girls in the YG trainee programme were contracted and professional. The feeder Academy was known as rich kids purchasing places rather than earning them as the trainees did.

For Gi, this couldn't be further from the truth. But why let the truth get in the way of a good story? She had won a place in the trainee programme, but her parents insisted she finish year 12 and there was no argument she could make to change their mind. The feeder Academy was the compromise. She wasn't sure about her rivals, they were never close enough to discuss such things. They kept their cards, and circ.u.mstances, close to their c.h.e.s.t.

"Oh Gi," Suzie said wistfully, "Where did you find the driver? Was it during your, Kidnapping Rescue?" Suzie emphasized the last two words and gave them special dripping sarcasm. She was in the class and saw everything. As was Misha.

Gi cleared her throat. "You know very well that my and Misha's parents wouldn't let us come without Security. Apparently, this is going to be a wild party and when Mother saw it on the news she almost banned me. Officer Ruek came to the rescue."

"Again," Suzie snickered.

"Your parents are paying too!" Misha told Suzie.

"Yeah, yeah, only because Gi blackmailed me," Suzie said.

"With what?" Misha asked in a low voice.

Gi leaned towards Misha so Officer Ruek couldn't hear, "She had a hand in a Zombie movie." And they both giggled. Gi giggled because she was witty and because Suzie went red. She had no idea why Misha giggled however.

"Ahem, how long are you going to hold that against me?" Suzie asked.

Gi held up her hands, spacing them ten centimetres apart, "About this long."

And then she laughed until she thought Suzie would kill her, Misha laughed as well, she just joined in seeing Suzie's pained expression was enough for her.

Officer Ruek took the cessation of laughter as his cue to speak, "Do you have everything on the list Miss Reyn, and your friends as well. Miss Kim and Miss Kay. We're passing the main shops where we can pick up sunscreen and other supplies."

"Yes, I have everything. Thanks, Officer Ruek," Gi said.

"Please. I am a civilian at the moment. Call me Jae-Sun," Officer Jae-Sun Ruek stated.

"And the other Misses?" Jae-Sun asked.

"Yes. I am fine. Thank you Jae-Sun," Misha said. Turning slightly red she leaned into Gi and whispered, "It feels too informal calling him by his name."

Gi just waved her hand and made a face like it was nothing and for her not to worry.

"I think I need some more make-up," Suzie suggested.

Gi scoffed, "One. It's not on the list of necessary items and two; I saw your make-up bag its bigger than our tent bag."

"The tent is compressed, duh," Suzie said but didn't press the issue. She was probably pushing the boundaries seeing what she could get away with. It's how she tested Teachers and boys.

The main leg of the car trip was over two hours, with the early Saturday traffic and with the initial leg of; picking up all three girls from across Seoul, it would take over three for the entire journey.

"It's going to be hot," Jae-Sun stated, "My app reports thirty-three degrees Celcius peak at 2pm. And let me know if you want the air con on a cooler setting."

Suzie giggled, even Gi smiled, Officer Ruek was so formal like this was a police op.

He did say if she ever needed him for anything to just call. And while missing a special Blackpink concert wasn't a national emergency it sure felt like it to Gi. And to his word he came through. He was someone even her Mother trusted to keep her safe. He filed an operational plan with all three parent groups. Like a supreme professional.

"I know we are rivals at Branksome," Misha said after a quiet contemplative period. "But I think we should stick together today and tonight. The competition is going to be fierce."

"Even me?" Suzie asked showing a rare vulnerable side.

Gi looked at both girls. If they weren't rivals, they could have been friends. The entertainment industry wasn't the fairy tale that everyone thought. She realised this and her journey had only just begun.

Gi was seated in the centre, it was only fair the other two girls got the window seats, they didn't know it, but Officer Ruek was charging them and not her parents.

She crossed her arms and offered one hand to Suzie and the other to Misha.

"Girlfriends," She said.

"Weekend allies," Misha agreed. She took her hand and clasped it firmly with both of her hands.

"Destroy our rivals," Suzie said vehemently which made all three laugh. They held hands for a few minutes to cement the deal and came up with witty slogans.

"Sensual sisters of spunk," Suzie said.

"Babe team alpha," Misha laughed when she proposed it.

"Daring darlings of dance," Gi said.

"Girl Sizzle," Suzie said.

"Dancing princess parade of power," Misha said.

"The Triple Threat," Gi said.

And they all agreed that was the best line. Because at Branksome if you excelled at singing, dancing and acting you were known as a triple threat. All three of them were known on campus as the triple threats of their year. It was the perfect confluence that the three of them together were the triple threat.

The weekend was only forty minutes in and Suzie felt the need to lay her head on Gi's shoulder for a nap. To make herself more comfortable Gi threw her arm over Suzie's head. Misha leaned forward to look at what was going on and giggled. For a laugh, she lay down her head on Gi's l.a.p and pretended to sleep.

Officer Ruek looked in the revision mirror and tried to control his libido.

It just dawned on him, when looking upon not one, but three entangled beauties, that the main threat this weekend was not an external one. He would have to protect Gi from his own testosterone fuelled temptations.
