Love To Hate Me

Chapter 24 - 24: Etiquette Of A Lady

.....

Five days before the engagement.

Park Mansion.

Father Park had invited Mother Song and Ryan for dinner at their house as well as using this as an opportunity to finalize any other pending work for the upcoming engagement.

The Park Mansion was no less than the Song mansion. After all, we are talking about the house of one of the top three businessmen in the world.

The mansion's architectural design was Mediterranean, but in terms of the mansion's interior, it was more of a minimalistic style.

Butler Jin guided Mother Song and Ryan into the living room, where Father Park and Soo Min were seated.

After exchanging their greetings, Father Park and Mother Song immediately got down to business and looked over a few files containing information about the engagement hall's design plan.

While they were busy discussing, Ryan was busy looking over some work emails when all of a sudden, something caught his attention or should I say someone.

Soo Min looked at him with a sly smile plastered on to her face, which made him furrow his eyebrows.

Breaking away eye contact from him, Soo Min stood up from the grey suede couch and cleared her throat, before saying, "Please excuse me for a second."

Father Park smiled and said, "Sure but don't take too long because we will be having dinner soon, alright?"

"Yeah, don't worry." Soo Min assured and just before she walked out of the living room, she winked at Ryan.

Her actions sent chills down his spine because right now he had no clue what she was up to.

As soon as Soo Min left the living room, she sighed because that dumb idiot did not understand her signal. Her words not mine. However, she did not care and started to prepare to execute her part of their plan.

"Operation: Cancel The Alliance has officially commenced." Soo muttered to herself before making her way down the hallway.

.....

Twenty minutes later.

The elders were still was busy looking at wedding decorations. They had already decided on light and royal blue as the theme for the engagement party, and also agreed to match the couple's clothes to fit the theme.

On the other hand, Ryan frowned while looking at a particular news article on his phone. 'NYCE Corporation reaches unimaginable milestones under new CEO Noah Chan'

'So you're finally back, huh?' Ryan inwardly thought.

He knew about Noah's sudden return to the country, and had also seen him at a business party a few days ago.

Ryan and Noah had always competed with each other every since they were kids. Noah was actually Uncle Mike's nephew from his wife's side, who was originally from the Chan family.

The heated battle between the two had soon come to a halt when Noah's family relocated abroad after his years in high school. But then again, it never really stopped there.

They competed from getting into the most prestigious colleges to the point where they used their companies successes as a way to prove themselves. Some could say that... they were born rivals.

Who knows what else they might have to compete for?

"Perfect. I'll let the wedding planner know about these changes to the plan." Father Park informed as he closed the files on the glass table. With the engagement approaching quickly, he wanted to make sure everything was perfect.

After all, it was not everyday that his youngest and only daughter was getting married!

Father Song glanced at his wristwatch and looked back up at Mother Song and Ryan, before suggesting, "How about we go have dinner now? It's already half past seven."

Mother Song nodded and said, "Yes. Let's go ahead and eat first. Oh and what about you daughter? Should we wait for her to come back or..."

Her words instantly snapped Ryan out of his stupor. That's right she still had not come back and it only hit him then about their plan. Was that what that wink was for?

"Don't worry about her. Let's wait for Soo Min at the dining all. I'm sure she'll be back soon." Father Park assured and the three of them left the living room and made their way down the hallway.

.....

At The Dining Hall.

"I asked our chefs to prepare a scrumptious meal with a variety of cuisines, so I hope you will like it. Father Park happily stated.

Just as the three of them walked into the dining room, they were quite astonished to see the scene in front of their eyes.

It was none other than Soo Min, who was busy ordering the servants to bring her some more dishes, while eating the food in front of her quite messily.

When she saw Mother Song, Ryan, and her father standing by the entrance, she waved at them and said "Why are guys standing there? Come on and eat. The food tastes so good!"

'Now you definitely won't get your son married to me.' Soo Min grinned inwardly.

She made sure to make her look as unladylike as possible, by talking with food in her mouth, and eating as loudly as possible.

In fact, she even read several books on the etiquettes of a lady, just so she could do the exact opposite.

"Soo Min! What are you doing?!" Father Park sternly questioned. This was a genuine shock for home because first, it was so unlike her and secondly, to act like this in front of guests?

"What are you talking about dad? This is how I always am, don't you know?" Soo Min enthusiastically answered.

When Ryan's eyes fell on the woman, who was wholeheartedly eating her food without a care in the world, he could not help but chuckle at her cute antics.

'So this was her so called plan.' Ryan mused.

"Jason it's alright. In fact, it's great to see Soo Min relish her food instead of eating less and dieting like all the other girls these days." Mother Song smiled and continued, "Don't you think so too, Ryan?"

But when she turned to look back at her son, she was quite astonished to see the peculiar sight in front her.
