Love To Hate Me

Soo Min and Ryan both looked up at each other, patiently waiting for the other one to let go of the plate.

It was like a fierce game of tug of war, with both parties pulling the plate towards the them, and none of them backing down.

Ryan glared at her and mouthed the words 'let go!' to her, but instead of cowering Soo Min gave him a poker smile and strengthened her grip on the plate.

Her eyes challenged his gaze, as if saying, "Take all the time you want, it's not like I have to be somewhere. You or me, let's see!"

This action of hers didn't only surprise Ryan, but Mother Song was caught off guard too! Never had she come across a person who was not intimidated by her son's fierce glare, and what's more it's seemed to have had no effect on Soo Min at all.

At that very moment all her doubts pertaining to a specific topic had vanished into thin air and Mother Song knew exactly what she must do!

The once silent room was now filled with the clinking and dragging of the plate.

"Positive... that's her..." the maids and butlers lined up against the wall, who had already scene the trending video of that scandal, whispered to each other.

"Look at her! She looks so fierce, countering the young master with her sharp eyes. She's so cool!"

"Oh my, what a surprise! I didn't know that this dish would be so popular. Why don't I ask them to make you two another one, hm?" Mother Song asked breaking the formidable air between the two of them.

Clearing his throat, Father Song added, "Yes Yes! Here why don't we serve it to you ourselves." And shot a meaningful glare at Mother Song, who in turn nodded, before the two of them picked up their chopsticks and picked up the stuffed mushrooms and placed it on their children's plates.

Secretary Su and Assistant Yoon stood behind them and observed in silence.

But Assistant Yoon's eyes almost popped off when he saw that it was his Young Master who pulled back first and handed the money discreetly to Su Chang, who was beaming with joy after winning the bet with Assistant Yoon.

After that intense battle, the two mostly focused on their food and other than the occasional nods here and there, the a.d.u.l.ts did most of the talking.

"You know, at first when I found out Soo Min was your daughter I was actually quite surprised, because I had already taken a liking to her during our first meet at the hospital, but you sure did a good job protecting her identity, even my men had a difficult time getting a hold on her." Mother Song informed.

Father Park chuckled and said, "Well what can I say Jane, my daughter wanted to build her career without any connections and wanted a normal life, away from all the limelight, and what could I do other than supporting her in her dreams."

Giving Mother Song a weak smile, Soo Min added, "Actually, this is all my fault. I was the one who forced him to do so because I didn't want anyone to feel obligated to treat me special, due to my relationship with my dad."

"Oh no, not at all dear. In fact when I got the news that you were my good old friend, Jason's daughter, I was beyond ecstatic." Mother Song gave Soo Min a warm smile.

Jane and Jason were actually high school sweethearts, but due to their career choices they had to part ways, and had soon moved on with their significant others.

Despite all these things, one thing that never changed was their strong bond in friendship.
