Love To Hate Me

Chapter 18 - 18: Battle Of The Eyes

.....

Song Mansion.

As Ryan turned his head around to look at the young woman standing by the door, he froze and his eyes widened in disbelief. "What the hell are you doing here?!"

Soo Min frowned and said, "I could ask you the same thing, you know."

"Security get this woman ou—"

"There you are!" Father Park exclaimed happily and stood up before walking over and tightly hugging her in his warm embrace.

Unlike with others. Father always had a bright , smiling and warm aura, whenever he was with his daughter.

Soo Min smiled and said, "I missed you too dad!"

'Dad?' Ryan widened his eyes in shock and took another look at Soo Min. 'That means she is—'

Pulling away, Father Park chuckled and said, "Look at me, I did not even bother to introduce you all to each other. Everyone please meet my youngest child and only daughter, Park Soo Min."

"It's nice to meet you all." Soo Min politely greeted and bowed her head.

'Look at her acting like she's so modest and polite!' Ryan scoffed.

Mother Song's face darkened as her hand fell to the side and pinched Ryan's shoulder.

"Ahhhhh." Ryan hissed in pain.

Father Park looked at his sudden change in expression and asked, "Are you alright?"

Before Ryan could say anything, Mother Song interrupted and said with a smile, "Oh he is fine! Don't worry about him."

"Pfft—" Soo Min covered her mouth with her hand as she tried her best to suppress her laughter seeing Ryan's painful reaction to his mother's action.

Ryan glared at her as he balled his hands into a fist. Soo Min did not even blink and met his gaze with lifted eyebrows.

Her eyes challenged his gaze, saying, "What?"

Noticing the gloomy and hostile atmosphere between the two, Mother Song suggested, "Now that Soo Min's here, why don't we all have dinner?"

Father Park nodded and said, "Yes, let's all go eat first."

.....

Inside the Dining Room.

The two families sat together at the dinner table in deep silence.

Mother Song raised her hand to signal one of the butlers, who immediately understood and went out to call the other staff. Seconds later, the once empty table was now filled with food.

"I wasn't too sure on what you might like, so I asked our chefs to prepare a mix of everything, so make sure to taste them all. I hope you like it, dear." Mother Song was the first to break the silence.

Soo Min smiled and nodded. She never once had a problem with Jane, as she was always kind to her back in the hospital and even today, just that the ice statue sitting next to Mother Song was ticking her off.

Her father did not exactly mention who they were going to meet, if he had, she would have probably been able to come up with a plan to deal with this nuisance, but alas!

Soo Min turned her attention to the food on the table, and Mother Song had prepared a feast indeed. All of it looked so appetizing, that Soo Min had a hard time deciding where to begin.

She finally decided on one, and leaned over to grab the plate full of stuffed mushrooms, but immediately frowned when she noticed the other hand on the other end of the plate.
