Love Is Sweeter Second Time Around

"Btw, you said yesterday that you have some things you need to settle here in the capital. Can I know what is it?" Yiu Chunxiu asked to the Zuo Haoyang who was walking beside her.

They were just strolling at the mall without any particular place to go. They were waiting for the lunch time since they met at 10 in the morning.

He paused for a moment and turn his head towards her, "Well.."

Yiu Chunxiu smiled, "It's okay. If it's confidential then you don't have to say it to me."

Zuo Haoyang sighed, "It's not that it's confidential but nothing was finalized so.." he scratched his hair indicating that he was frustrated, "Well I'm thinking of quiting army and work as a government official." As he said these words, he looked at her with gentle eyes.

Yiu Chunxiu remembered the words he said last night, "When we get married, you can just stay in the house and take care of the kids."

Did he mean wants to leave the military so they can have a normal life without any danger?

"Why?" She asked without showing her frustration.

She doesn't deserve this guy. He was too good for her.

"I promised myself that once I got married, I'll quit army so I can keep my family safe and be with them always," he said and held her hand.

Can she back out from the engagement? Never in her life she imagined that someone would sacrifice the things they loved for her. Yet the guy who was holding her hand was willing to marry her despite that she already had a child.

She felt guilty, should she tell him that Yuntian wasn't an accident but a fruit from her and Gao Yishen's love?

Yiu Chunxiu gulped and forced a  smile, "You don't really need to do that. I'll also work for military as a doctor soon. We'll be together that way!"

"You don't have to do what your family says. You can just be a doctor at a normal hospital. You don't need to follow their footsteps," then he squeezed her hands.

She knew that it was impossible for her to love him, all she could do was be loyal to him. There was no other way than that.

She erased the thought in her head and replied, "Thank you." She said wholeheartedly.

He touched her heart. She never thought that this guy would consider her feelings in his decisions. He was truly a gentleman that every girl dreamed off.

It wasn't bad to fall in love with this guy. If only she could forget about Gao Yishen and she was given a chance to fall in love again she would want to fall for this guy.

At lunch, they dined at a Japanese Restaurant. The restaurant used a chabudai or the traditional dining table of Japanese that required then to take off their shoes.

Just when they were about to sit a women called out  Zuo Haoyang. She was already sitting in tatami mat, together with her was a child which was around Yuntian's age.

It was Mu Shu! The daughter of a huge business tycoon in Capital and the woman who was beside Gao Yishen yesterday. The male child beside her...

He definitely has some features of Gao Yishen. Was he Mu Shu and Yishen's child?

Here it was again, the tightening of her heart as if someone was gripping it.

Yiu Chunxiu looked for Haoyang's reaction, he smiled at Mu Shu. They knew each other.

He quickly held her hand and asked, "Is it okay if we eat with someone else?"

She unconciously nodded. When she realized it. They were already sitting together  Mu Shu and the child.

Zuo Haoyang enthusiastically introduced her to Mu Shu, "Yiu Chunxiu, this is Mu Shu. My cousin in my mother's side. My and her mother are siblings so no one took their surnames. The kid is Gao Zhilan. She's Shu's child.

Mu Shu, this is Yiu Chunxiu from Yiu family. She's my future wife so be nice to her, okay? She's also been away for five years in the country so I hope you can help her adjust."

Both of Yiu Chunxiu's and Mu Shu's eyes widened.

Gao? The child carries the Gao's surname? Zhilan was Gao Yishen's son? This child was Yuntian's little brother?

It was such a small word. Her fiancé was Mu Shu's cousin and her son was Yishen's.
